Why is doing the work before hand is so important? 

Why cant we just all be successful?

Why, why, why...because if it were easy everyone would be successful.  I want to share my thoughts and also let you know that you are not alone in this.  You can do this AND don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. 

I often get asked if knowing what I do now would I REALLY start a photography business again all over again? Yes! 100 times I would. I love what I do and while there is such a learning curve behind any business today'd episode dives into learning, knowing and whether or not you have regrets or just need to figure out more before starting out.

As business owners we all need help, a tribe of people that we can turn to for guidance and support.  Depending on who you are and your business you will find this assistance in so may places. When I relocate my photography business from the burbs to the city I found this support in my local business association.  I know it's recommended that we all join one but I was floored by the support I received. They were great and they even provided a bit of emotional support that I needed although I don't think they knew it at the time. 

The Mt. Airy Business Association and CDC is wanda-ful go check out their site for a list of family and community events while we still have some summer days left.

I think at one time or another all photographers think about having some type of studio space. Whether it's a small corner of your home where  your can provide headshots to a few people or a 6000 square foot warehouse type of space that you divide up into sections for different type of shoots and client meetings. We all have dreams on having space to connect with clients to offer a unique personal experience.  

Today's episode I share my FIRST home studio (my son's bedroom) and what I used as backdrops for their photos.  There are the key elements on having a successful home studio,

I took a break for a few weeks to open my own photography studio, I'm back now with new with new equipment, and a new level of excitement. I can't wait to share with you all of the goodness that I have in store. To begin with this weeks episode about stepping into my own level of BIG, and how I making this leap was the best thing for me.  

This weeks episode features Tamera she is the founder and CEO of Raising A Mogul.  An organization that helps parents and kids not only figure out their goals together but choose realistic goals that fit within the child's personal style. She didn't just happen upon this business though, today's episode you'll hear her backstory and how she helped her  VERY DETERMINED daughter Zandra start her own business. Tamara dishes on the obstacles her daughter encountered as a youth in a time when the internet was still new as was the idea of Child entrepreneurs. Together as a family, they learned how to navigate the world of business, Tamara also learned her daughter had a real passion for her product and once she earned her first $1 she became even more dedicated to growth and learning.
