    WAKA! Become the coach of the National Dutch soccer team and embark on an adventure at the World Cup in France 1998. Keep your staff in check and prevent fights amongst the selection. In this game you have to keep the both the press and the players happy so that when you get to play the matches your team is in good shape.

    This game is all about the Netherlands at the Soccer World Championships of 1998 aka 1998 FIFA World Cup that was held from 10 June to 12 July 1998 in real life. You play as the national trainer and select what players should feature in your team, then you play through all the matches of the WC tournament. Additionally, you can also do a quick game without going through the story mode, or just play a game of soccer without playing the tournament at all.

    Before each game, you will get a briefing by another national trainer which is Johan Cruyff, a 'doctor' Emile Ratelband, Bobo Bernard (rich dude), and you're interviewed by a journalist: Jack van Gelder.

    Laat ik meteen met de deur in huis vallen dat het voetbal gedeelte van deze game niet heel bijzonder was. Je bekeek de wedstrijd van schuin bovenaf en de controls waren erg basic. Gewoon overspelen, schieten of slidings maken. Grafisch zag het er werkelijk niet heel bijzonder uit, spelers waren behalve bruin of wit onherkenbaar en het speelde voor geen malle moer. Voor het voetbal hoefde je de game dus absoluut niet in huis te halen. Wat maakt deze game dan zo leuk om er nog eens over te beginnen? Op de voorkant prijkte het hoofd van niemand minder dan Jack van Gelder, en die had een belangrijk aandeel tussen de wedstrijden door.

    Het leukste stuk gameplay was namelijk het voeren van gesprekken met een aantal bekende Nederlanders waaronder Jack van Gelder, Johan Cruijff, Emiel Ratelband en Prins (Bobo) Bernard. Zodra een van hun gezichten in het menu oplichtte kon je een dialoog met ze aangaan. Met Jack moest je na de wedstrijd altijd aan tafel gaan zitten en vragen beantwoorden over het al dan niet gewenste resultaat. Op een bijna RPG-achtige manier had je verschillende antwoordmogelijkheden die het interview enigszins beïnvloedde.

    Ging het met Jack nog wel over voetbalzaken, Emiel Ratelband zocht altijd de grenzen op. Hij was regelmatig van mening dat de spelersgroep wel wat extra motivatie kon gebruiken en stelde dan ook voor om met z’n allen over hete kolen te gaan lopen (altijd goed voor blessures). Dit ondersteund met een welgemeende WAKA (i.p.v. Tsjakka) maakte hem een echte positiviteitsgoeroe.

    Power Unlimited review:

    Voor hardcore gamers zal dit spel waarschijnlijk te weinig hoogstaande actie beiden maar voor minder ervaren gamers, is WK '98 VA wel een aanrader. Je kunt al snel een potje meespelen.

      12. Pokemon unite live ranked play (SEASON 28 master rank)

        Conrads, once again the challenge of editing a more different video has made made me unwilling to stream anything but these dumb pokemon fights.

        Yeah that's right, it's pokemon unite master rank solo queue gameplay. This was a livestream on hardlimit, a peertube instance. You want to see them live check it out over there.

        I stand by my belief that pokémon unite is a good distillation of the MOBA experience. Even if it seems a little pushy about the microtransactions.

      16. Birdbath 2025-07-05-1080

        Almost 2 hours of birdbath action from yesterday.

        To make your own, visit Julie Zickefoose at warblerfall.com for info. Instructions are $30, parts about $70 at the time of writing. The camera used here is a Ceyomur C95; video quality is great, WiFi is not good.

        Unfortunately, it's not practical to check and upload this amount of footage daily, so it'll probably just be occasional uploads in future. However, there's a total of over three house in the Bathapalooza playlist now.
