    WOKE BELGIUM (VICKTORIA 3 FULL PLAYTHROUGH)

    CONRADS, for once we will be doing some WOKE content!

    It's a victoria 3 full gameplay playthrough on linux with me, Turbles Celbor. I will attempt to create a truly egalitarian society in belgium in the face of the imperial pressures, ideally after conquering the north (get that squared away).

    We've done a few longplays of victoria 3 on this channel, but never a commentary playthrough. Unlike before we are playing a recognized minor power, which should help diplomacy immensely. I am also playing with the most recent commerce expansion, which has an actual world market to interact with.

    Victoria 3 is a grand strategy game by paradox interactive. Instead of being played out in a series of turns, the game advances in real time and the player has the ability to pause. You will no doubt see the majority of my playtime will be in paused mode.

    This is part 1, our biggest hurdle will be how we deal with the Netherlands, which happens very early in the game. My ideal outcome is unification under Belgium, my acceptable outcome is getting Luxemburg, and the worst outcome would be losing everything and being forced to pursue colonial ambitions in the Congo.

    Story

    Jiminy Cricket greets the player and tells a story that he hopes is "sure to make you smile". One morning, Chip and Dale are out gathering acorns in the Magic Kingdom when they discover a small door in the side of Cinderella Castle. After going through the door, they discover the Walt Disney World Magic Machine, a contraption that shoots firework shows every night. When they get close to it, Dale accidentally drops some of the acorns he collected into it, causing it to stop functioning. They run for cover as it explodes, scattering several pieces across the resort. With the help of several park visitors, they race across the resort to find the pieces and reassemble the machine before the show starts that night.

    Music from Space Mountain on the first race there was tweaked with AI (Demucs Music Source Separation) to turn down the volume in order to keep the video live:

    After finishing all races, I turned down the music volume a notch to ensure I wouldn't need to filter it all out afterwards lol.

    I am very aware of the framedrops in the video. They are only in the recording and were not visible while playing the game. I am not sure what is causing this.

    On my Windows 10 virtual machine with an AMD R7 260X (passthrough). I couldn't get the FPS to be constant. It should be 25, but I got 21 instead for some reason. I found no solution for this so I went with running the game on Linux instead using Wine. I also found that, on my Windows machine, I could use DgVoodoo to apply anti-aliasing to the game for better graphical fidelity, it somehow made the screen brighter which made the game look like trash.

    Linux has its own issues on this game though, on the Dinosaur track you will see what I could best describe as "texture smearing". To resolve this, play at your full display resolution. You can set your full resolution in the settings in the main menu.
    Another change to make is in the Wine config (winecfg): Allow the window manager to control the windows. This setting should be off since it will otherwise not let you control the game.
