Too long. There is no reason I can't do one or two of these a month! It's so fun. This is the first summer I haven't slaughtered myself working. I've had all the time in the world to read books, drink iced coffee and travel. Man, can't put together a few podcasts? I started working on this in June when I had gone out to the Total Punk Fuck Off III in Orlando, came home to the Northside Fest in Brooklyn and then ran out to California. I picked up a lot of great stuff. Plus whatever random slivers you people shared with me from various bandcamps and my instagram stalking. Today i'm off to New Orleans for more and will report back in two weeks (public deadline!)

This month I spent a lot of time in Texas. First, it was off to Good Vibrations II where I saw a few old favorites and caught some new bands to get excited about (Tear Dungeon, call me). Following a week or two of recovering, it was time to head down to Denton, Tx and visit Mad World Records to blow that Christmas money. After avoiding some tornados and washing down a few dozen Tamales and Kolaches with Queso Dip it was back to Austin. I was able to stop by John Wesley Coleman’s annual family friendly secular holiday spectacular (in an old sex toy factory) and then hop over to catch Sin Motivo, who sings in Spanish. Note: today's hardcore kids have some new moves that are really impressive: they get low.

Episode 3

I have not exited the house for non-work purposes much this month so that I can be extra laser-focused on finishing a few projects that require a clear head. This means i've gone to less shows but sat home alone rifling through lists and recommendations that have been piling up. Next week i'm going to Austin to check out the second year of the Good Vibrations festival. If I do it right i'll be back with a terrible cold (note: will sound cool on episode 4), thigh-bruises and a ton of new bands to get excited about.
