Welcome to a new year, a new decade, and a brand new disco set, with over three hours of dance-floor classics; disco originals, remixes, edits and more. Every time I hear "I love music" by the O'Jays I get goosebumps - the arrangement, the vocal harmonies and the percussion are just perfect. And did Chicago - ranked by Billboard as one of the biggest rock bands of all time - imagine they'd spawn a host of disco choons with their funky horn section? (Here it is "On my mind" by - Algrthm). Apparently it's a Barry White sample that makes Future Funk's "Wildberry Tracks" so sublime, and Barry himself is up later with a re-edit of his Love Unlimited Orchestra classic. Kool & the Gang pop up a few times in this mix, as does Michael Jackson. Kudos to Dr Packer, The Reflex, Sasha Mitich (Mitiko) and Young Pulse for their great edits and re-creations. And what disco set would be complete without some Salsoul? Then there's Quincy Jones. 'Nuff said. All mixed with love in London.
