One of the devil’s most devious devices is a demonic distortion of the Christian virtue of empathy, our ability to respect and appreciate the feelings of others. In our day, this virtue has been twisted and weaponized into a toxic tool of manipulation that controls the culture and may even bring about our destruction. But do we have the discernment to disarm it?
“There is a form of empathy--an ungodly, sinful form of it; and the reason it is so dangerous is that while other sins are often recognized as potentially bad, most people have a hard time imagining how empathy could ever be harmful.
