Disciple Making

Prophetic words. Words of knowledge. Personal prophecy.

What do you do when someone says, “God told me this about you”?

In this video, I walk through several real-life experiences, some confusing, some clearly off, and a few that were actually helpful. I use these examples to answer the bigger question:
How do you discern whether a prophetic word is from God… or not?

You’ll see:
Why flattery and “nice-sounding words” are often red flags
How personal prophecy can be misused to manipulate or control
Why your past patterns of obedience matter more than one dramatic word
The role of community in discerning major life direction
How Scripture—not experience—is the foundation for testing everything

We also look at key biblical anchors like 1 Thessalonians 5:19–22 and Romans 12:1–2 and what it actually means to “test everything and hold fast to what is good.”

If you’ve ever been confused, pressured, or intrigued by prophetic words this will give you a grounded, biblical framework for discernment.

And yes… I also share the most recent “prophetic word” I received (about a camera upgrade). You can decide for yourself!

Most churches say “discipleship matters.” The problem is that many discipleship plans don't actually make disciples.

In this episode I lay out the essentials of an effective Disciple-Making that can move people from the starting point of repentance and faith in Jesus, to mature, on-mission disciples who can make disciples.

If you’re a church leader trying to build a pathway—or a Christian who wants to follow Jesus with clarity—this will help you identify what’s missing and what to rebuild.

Making disciples is very different from simply "doing church." Here are some things we are learning about disciple making movements at 12Church.

It's about learning HOW to make disciples in this time and place.

In this message, we explore the gift of evangelism through the lens of Ephesians 4, the APEST framework, and disciple-making movements. Scripture shows us that Christ doesn’t just give gifts to individuals, He gives gifted people to the church so the whole body can grow into maturity and reflect the fullness of Jesus.

Many churches can “do church,” but struggle to effectively make disciples. One major reason? Evangelists are often missing, sidelined, or unactivated.

In this teaching, you’ll learn:
* How evangelists fit into the APEST team (Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd, Teacher)
* Why evangelism is central—not optional—to disciple making
* How to recognize if you may be a gifted evangelist
* What evangelists uniquely contribute to the local church
* Why all believers are witnesses, but some are gifted harvesters
* How stepping out in obedience often reveals gifting you didn’t know you had

You’ll also hear a real, encouraging story of ordinary believers stepping out in faith—and seeing God already at work in the people they met.

The fields are ripe for harvest. We’re all on the farm. We’re all on the team.
But some of you are harvesters.

It may be time to put the combine in gear.

Every time a "blood moon" appears or war breaks out somewhere in the Middle East, the internet fills up with videos claiming Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right now!

Blood moons.
Wars with Iran.
Headline-based prophecy speculation.

And somehow it’s always “this time it’s different.”

I’ve been hearing this for more than 50 years.

From The Late Great Planet Earth…
to A Thief in the Night…
to 88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Be in 1988…
to today’s endless stream of YouTube prophecy channels.

Much of what passes for end times teaching is speculation, proof-texting, and headline chasing.

And worse, it often distracts Christians from the mission Jesus actually gave us.

Instead of obsessing over blood moons and trying to decode the news, Jesus gave us something much clearer:
Matthew 24:14: “This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

If Christians put the same energy into making disciples that they put into decoding headlines, we’d see something very different.
