Pastor Jason Mayhall describes what it means to be a disciple of Jesus in this week's look at the Gospel of Mark. He asks whether we, as followers of Jesus, can come to expect things from God that will leave us frustrated. In any relationship when we transform our desires into expectations, something that once was good can become a frustration. Discipleship can at times feel like a hindrance as we may be asked to sacrifice something we desire to serve those in need. We must see that Jesus' vision for us is to serve those in need regardless of our circumstances. By serving others, even when it is difficult, we can show those who have not found Christ how we are transformed by Him. Through words and deeds, we help others to recognize the good news He brings to us all.
