  • Wise Leadership and Faithful Discipline: Trusting God Rather Than Fearing Man
Proverbs 29 shows how leadership, discipline, and character affect individuals, families, and entire communities. Dave Jenkins explains why receiving correction produces wisdom, righteous leadership promotes stability, humility restrains pride, and trusting the Lord delivers us from the snare of fearing man. The chapter ultimately points us to Jesus Christ, the perfect King who rules with righteousness, justice, wisdom, and compassion. • Raising Children Who Can Afford a House — Discipleship for Dads
Is it still possible to pay off a house before you're 30? If so, how can we support our children toward this goal? The dads talk about how young men they know have achieved this – and what biblical principles laid the foundation. They discuss the connection between obedience and diligence…whether childhood is for playing…focusing on productive skills like carpentry, rather than football…and ultimately, seeing our work as participation in God's own building.

  • Sent by God, Gathered by Grace
Sent by God, Gathered by Grace The central truth of this message is that salvation and the mission both begin with the grace of God, are sustained by goodness of God, and will be fulfilled for the glory God. John 1 introduces John the Baptist as "a man sent from God." He was not the Light; he was sent to bear witness to the Light so that others might believe. That same pattern continues throughout redemption: the Father sends the Son, God sends His message, the Son sends His messengers, the Spirit opens hearts, and the Shepherd gathers His people (Acts 26:23; Luke 24) Jesus does not call us to lead Him through our lives; He calls us to "Follow Me." He is the Shepherd and we are the sheep. Genuine discipleship means allowing Jesus to continually redirect our thinking, desires, priorities, and steps. Eternal life gives us eternal light, enabling us to increasingly see life from God's perspective rather than the world's. John also explains why the world did not recognize Jesus and why it will sometimes fail to understand those who belong to Him. Spiritual truth requires spiritual revelation. First Corinthians 2 teaches that the rulers would not have crucified the Lord of glory had they truly known Him. Deuteronomy 30:6 shows that God must do something within the human heart—circumcise it—so that we can love Him and live. Salvation, therefore, is not merely improved behavior or inherited religion; it is new life produced by God. This makes John 1:12–13 especially important. Those who receive Christ and believe in His name become children of God, yet their new birth is "not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." We truly repent, believ

  • The Gospel Promised Beforehand
Romans 1:2 teaches that the gospel was promised beforehand through God's prophets in the Holy Scriptures. The gospel is not a human invention, a first-century novelty, or God's response to an unexpected problem. It rests on God's eternal purpose and His promise-keeping faithfulness. In this sermon, Dave Jenkins explains how the Old Testament progressively revealed God's saving promise, how the prophets pointed forward to Jesus Christ, and why the gospel cannot be separated from the authority and sufficiency of Scripture. The Bible presents one unified message of redemption, and every promise of salvation finds its fulfillment in Christ alone. Because God kept His greatest promise by sending His Son, Christians can trust every promise He has made. Cultures change, feelings rise and fall, and circumstances may confuse us, but the gospel stands because God has spoken in His holy, inspired, sufficient, and trustworthy Word. • Conviction vs. Condemnation: Freedom from Guilt in Christ
How can Christians distinguish the Holy Spirit's conviction from crushing condemnation? Although both may involve an awareness of sin, they lead believers in completely different directions. Condemnation declares that there is no hope, that God is finished with you, and that your sin is greater than His grace. Biblical conviction exposes specific sin so that you will confess it, repent, trust Christ, and return to joyful fellowship with God. In this episode of Anchored in the Word, Dave Jenkins examines Romans 8:1, John 16:8, Psalm 32, Hebrews 4:16, and 1 John 1:9 to explain why believers no longer stand condemned before God. Jesus Christ bore the complete judgment their sins deserved, securing forgiveness, justification, and peace with God. Christians do not overcome guilt through endless introspection, religious effort, or ongoing self-punishment. They overcome it by looking to Christ, receiving His forgiveness, and resting in His finished work. • Proverbs 27 Explained: Wisdom, Friendship, and Accountability
Proverbs 27 reveals the importance of humility, honest friendship, accountability, diligence, and wise preparation. Faithful friends speak the truth, offer needed correction, and help one another grow in wisdom and godliness. In this episode, Dave Jenkins explains how pride and self-promotion undermine wisdom, why the wounds of a faithful friend are better than the kisses of an enemy, and how believers sharpen one another through honest and loving relationships. Proverbs 27 ultimately points us to Jesus Christ, the perfect friend who speaks truth, loves faithfully, walks with His people, and transforms their lives. Through Christ, believers are forgiven, renewed, and shaped into people of biblical wisdom. • The Books That Prove the New Apostolic Reformation Exists
Some defenders of the New Apostolic Reformation deny that it exists or argue that it cannot be identified because it is not a formal organization. However, books written and endorsed by the movement's own leaders openly describe the restoration of modern apostles and prophets, apostolic networks, apostolic centers, dominion theology, and the Seven Mountain Mandate. In this episode of From NAR to Christ, Dawn Hill examines published evidence from C. Peter Wagner and other influential NAR leaders. Their writings demonstrate that the New Apostolic Reformation is a recognizable movement with shared teachings concerning church government, spiritual authority, prophecy, cultural transformation, and modern apostles. Dawn concludes with a plea for Christians to test every teaching according to Scripture, return to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and trust the written Word of God as the final authority for faith and life. • God Does Not Need Us: The Self-Sufficiency of God
New Age spirituality frequently teaches that human beings are "co-creators" with God or that God needs our experiences in order to learn and grow. Scripture teaches the opposite. God possesses everything He needs within Himself. He is eternal, sovereign, independent, and completely self-sufficient. In Week 50 of New Age to Christ, Doreen Virtue explains how this attribute of God frees Christians from the exhausting burden of trying to control everything, rescue everyone, or earn God's favor through good works. Because God lacks nothing, His grace, wisdom, love, and strength will never be exhausted. We obey God because we love Him and have been saved through faith in Jesus Christ, not because God needs something from us. Every believer can lay down the burden of self-reliance and rest in the complete sufficiency of God. For more from Doreen please visit: https://servantsofgrace.org/doreen-virtue/

  • Government Has Authority, but Answers to God
What authority has God given to government, and where are its limits? Romans 13 teaches that governing authorities have been established by God to restrain evil and preserve order in a fallen world. Christians should respect rightful authority, pray for their leaders, pursue peace, and obey lawful commands. Government, however, is never ultimate. Acts 5:29 declares, "We must obey God rather than men." When human authorities command what God forbids or forbid what God commands, the Christian's allegiance to Christ must come first. In this episode, Dave Jenkins explains the difference between biblical submission and blind obedience, warns against statism and reactionary rebellion, and considers how Christians can remain faithful, courageous, and emotionally steady during politically unstable times. Government has real authority, but it remains delegated, limited, temporary, and accountable to God. Christ alone is ultimate. • Counterfeit Spiritual Experiences: How Satan Leads People Away from Christ
What happens when a spiritually dangerous practice appears to provide physical healing or relief? In this Contending for the Word Q&A episode, Doreen Virtue explains how Satan uses counterfeit spiritual experiences to draw people away from Jesus Christ and the true gospel. Practices such as Reiki, qigong, shamanic healing, Christian Science, manifestation, and the law of attraction may promise healing or personal empowerment, but they direct people toward self-reliance and unbiblical sources of spiritual power. Doreen also considers why God does not always grant immediate physical healing and how the Lord may use suffering to produce greater dependence upon Him. Since Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, Christians must prayerfully compare every spiritual claim, experience, and apparent miracle with the teaching of Scripture.
