Pinkalicious is a hit!

Got these for my daughter for Christmas. She is 8 and has loved Pinkalicious since she was about 4. She loves when new books come out and always wants to get them to read over and over again. She also enjoys reading them to her toddler sister who is now in love with Pinkalicious also.

Good but not great

I like it because it's part of the amelia bedelia books, but it is one of the more boring book. Both and I my child find ourselves getting bored mid-book....and it's not a big book! Good for completing your collection, but your toddler may appreciate a different book to read.

Essentially it's about birds building a nest on her slide, and her watching the birds throughout the season until there are little birds that hatch. Cute concept but it doesn't have enough quirkiness to not make it a book about waiting and watching.

Amelis Bedelia is for the Birds

Amelia Bedelia books are enjoyed by millions of young girls. They are great for getting young kids to read. My Granddaughters loved them.

Great story

The art is in a matte format. I love Ms. Yuyi Morales's work. I have some of her other books that have a shiny or glossy finish and I like that format so much more than this matte format. But, that's OK. The art is great, colorful and silly. The story is great.

This is a rare find for my nephew whom is of mixed heritage. It is hard to find a good and fun children's book with a boy as a main character and especially a brown boy!

Fun to read again and again!

I bought this book for my nephew and he absolutely loves it! He reads it every day with his Grandfather (who is from Peru so his pronunciation of the Spanish words is on point)! Now, he has a little sister and she loves it, too! I also bought them the second book and they were so excited when they unwrapped it, they couldn't believe there was ANOTHER niño book! I recommend this for those who are of latino/a/x descent and those who are not - it's just a fun book about playing pretend (and avoiding bed time).

Niño wins in our household!

We checked this out of the library for our almost 4 year old son. For his birthday we pick one or two books from his year-long library selections that he appeared to enjoy the most. "Niño" was one of two winners for my son's birthday gift. I would say that this is my favorite books from Yuyi Morales. I am not a fan of wrestling but it has opened up a dialog about the lucha-libre type of wrestling and the characters/contenders that challenge Niño. This was his first introduction to La Llorona!

Nino wrestles and wins on our bookshelf!

My toddler and I love this book so much! It's a great afternoon read, because when you read it, you'll get into announcer mode.. and it can get LOUD!

I'm not Spanish speaking, so it's very nice that the front and back pages have wonderful pronunciation & background on each character.

The drawings are vibrant, not scary, and my son loves Nino.

Moms..get your kleenex ready. You'll LOVE this little book. The cycle of life preciously presented. I gave this book as a present to a friend who was expecting her first grandchild. I was pleasantly surprised to discover I wasn't the only one who was touched by the author's words and illustrations. A must read for all Moms' and Grandmothers.

Tears of Joy!

This book makes me cry EVERY time I read it - Tears of Joy! I purchased this as a gift to my newborn daughter (who just turned 7) and it has become a favorite for both of us. She frequently will pick it out of her book shelf to read together when we are needing to have mother-daughter time and it is a wonderful way to connect. This book follows a the baby girl through several different transitions and ends with her being a woman...it is a must have for any mother daughter duo (at any age)...

I love this book

I love this book. I cry every time I read it. Its sad at the end but a nice reminder of how fast your kiddos grow and how we dream for them.

Perfect and lovely and sweet.

I dare you to get through the end of this book without tears in your eyes. It is lovely. I wish I'd thought to write something similar when my daughter asked me to write her advice on raising a daughter when she was expecting her first child.

Great for young baseball fans!

My 7 year old son has been reading the Ballpark Mysteries books for about a year and a half now, and he LOVES them. He's an avid baseball fan, but also has a love for reading in general. These books are fun and engaging, and he always complains that the chapters end with a "mystery" that makes you want to keep reading! We've read through all of the books in the series, and are now working on reading them all a second time!

For those not familiar with the Ballpark Mysteries series, the books follow cousins Mike & Kate as they travel around the country visiting baseball stadiums (usually with Kate's mom, who is a sports reporter for a website, but sometimes with Kate's dad, who is a baseball scout I believe). Along the way, Mike and Kate inevitably encounter a mystery involving the stadium or one of the baseball players. Mike and Kate are great at solving mysteries, so they always figure things out by the end of the book. These books are great for both boys and girls, since the main characters are a boy and a girl.

Throughout each book, the reader learns facts about each stadium, and there is also a fun facts page at the end of each

book as well. My son has collected all of the books in the series, and is eagerly anticipating the release of the newest one, the Cardinal Caper!

If your child likes these books, I would also highly recommend the Little Rhino series. My son is on his way to collecting all of those as well!

Bought series1-9 for a friends 8 yr old sonfor his birthday. He is a baseball fanatic. He absolutely loved these. They are great for boys but girlscan enjoy them too. They are very fun engaging stories. Would highly recommend.

The SF Splash is a hit

SF Splash was a gift for my nephew. He, me and his parents all enjoyed the story. Since they live in SF and are Giants fans, it was a big hit. A nice way to introduce some baseball facts and history to Lucca (my nephew). I will buy more books for him in this series.

This book is absolutely horrible. I wasted over a week on this book. I just kept thinking "The climax MUST be coming soon." but to tell you the truth, it never came! HORRIBLE book!
