How to Train an Elephant explores one of the enemy’s most strategic tactics: convincing us we are powerless. Just as an elephant can be trained to believe it cannot break free even when it has the strength to do so, Satan can use rejection, isolation, failure, temptation, grief, and disappointment to train us to live beneath the freedom and strength we have in Christ. The series is like a manual written to a circus master/devil of how to keep a giant and strong animal in captivity. Through the life of David, we’ll discover what it looks like to develop spiritual resilience, refuse to stay stuck, and remember that we are far stronger in Christ than the enemy wants us to believe. Because you don’t have to live captive to what has held you - you were created to live free and fulfill the purpose God has given you.

At Discover Church, we exist to see our city changed by Jesus, one life at a time, by helping people discover LIFE in Christ, BELONGING in Community & PURPOSE in God's Calling on their life so that they can MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Reruns is a series at Discover Church that uses the lens of 90’s sitcoms to explore something deeply practical and spiritual: how our everyday lives can make Jesus visible to a watching world. Sitcoms worked because they felt familiar; you saw yourself in the characters, their humor, their mess, their growth, and their relationships. And every episode ended with a moment that reminded you what really matters.

In the same way, this series reminds us that faith is not just something we believe—it’s something we live out loud. The world may never read a Bible before they watch your life, and what they’re watching is whether Jesus actually changes people. That’s why we’re revisiting the core values of our church, not as slogans we agree with, but as reruns of the life of Jesus we are called to embody together.
