JANESVILLE COMMUNITY RADIO PROUDLY PRESENTS:

               CIVIL DISCOURSE

Civil Discourse, the most informative Progressive Radio in Wisconsin, is locally run and hosted by former State Senator Peter Bear and Eric Brant.

Peter and Eric connect the dots from historical events to current issues in an effort to correctly predict the outcomes. We lay out current news stories, expand on the issues, and blend facts with our own take on the subject matter.

This show aims to easily and accurately break down complex political situations for working America.

In this episode we will talk to Chuck Ogg from Rock County Progressives.  What is the political climate in Janesville?  Kathleen Vinehoute is rumored to announce that she will not run against Mary Burke.

Congress threatens to pass sanctions on Iran, which could blow up our nuclear peace talks.  Another Cold War?

And finally, Harry Reid stands up to President Obama and says that Fast Track is DOA in the Senate.  Will the TPP still pass?  What if it does?  What if it doesn't?

Janesville Community Radio proudly presents:

Great episode of Discover Janesville this morning.  Since my first guest was not able to join me, I spent the first half hour doing piano improvisations (luckily I always bring my piano with me).  From there, the program took a decidedly community-minded tone as I was joined by Tony Farrell, Sr., volunteer extraordinaire who spoke about a program by Voigt music - run by Tony Farrell, Jr. - that gives away thousands of free music folders to kids in Rock county schools every year.  Next, Amanda Hauser Byrne of the Little Bean coffee shop called in to talk about the suspended coffee program, and finally Tom Brien, who spent 16 years on Janesville City Council, stopped in and we remembered  Ronnie Thomas who passed away a few days ago, following a lifetime of service.  Perhaps the best way to summarize the program is with the quote by President Kennedy: "Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country".  Be in the know.  Discover Janesville.

This week we will discuss the recent scandal surrounding 2016 Presidential hopeful, Chris Christie.  We will then dive into the issue of Free Trade.  How does it fit in with our history?  How has it effected the nation?  What does it have to do with our current economic state?  Peter and Eric will discuss this issue from several angles.
