The Danube River flows 600 kilometers though southern Germany. One of its most beautiful stretches in Bavaria passes Weltenburg Abbey, spectular rock formations and Regensburg's UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The journey begins at St. George's Abbey in Weltenburg. Bavaria's oldest monastery is famous for its beer. Our next stop is Kelheim, an ideal base for cyclists and hikers.

Our tour down the Danube ends at the stone bridge in Regensburg, whose old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2006. Among the highlights is the Wurstkuchl historic sausage kitchen dating back to the 14th century and the Gothic cathedral.

A walk in the fog? Many people would rather stay home. But not in the Röhn region. There, it's become a tourist attraction to be taken on a hike without a view of the state of Hessen's highest peak. On the way, hikers are deliberately led astray - a guarantee of thrills and excitement.
