Marcus Baker wrote, directed and produced the delightfully original film “Counterweight” that played at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2020.  I’m proud to say that this film joined the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video, in Season 4 Episode 5, playing with two equally visionary films.

The Macias Brothers, Drew & Vinny, basically took the Sherman Oaks Film Festival by storm in 2019 by introducing their short film “Shoot ’em Dead” with a musical number longer than the film itself.  They may have a serious side, but The Macias Brothers are seriously funny.  You get to see them in action in Season 3 Episode 8 of the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video, where “Shoot ’em Dead” is the first of four hilarious, daring comedies.

Writer, Actor and Producer John Venable brought his film “First Person” to the Sherman Oaks Film Festival in 2019 and this hilarious comedy found launches Season 3 of the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video by being the first film in the first episode.

At the festival Q&A John and his team shared the interesting concept behind the film’s production; it began with a short screenplay contest called “Hollywood Connection Short Screenplay Contest” at shortscreenplay.com where the winning script would be produced.  And unlike a lot of contests, John followed through and made the film!  Not only did he make the film, but he brought in lead actor Charles Baker, known to the public as Skinny Pete from Breaking Bad.  Doing this podcast we get to dive deep into the history of this film as well as its future.

Sam Vartholomeos is the lead actor in Ryan O’Leary’s fantastic film “The Lost Weekend,”  We’re proud to say that “The Lost Weekend” is in the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video.

Sam & Ryan got onto a Skype call with DIF’s own Jeff Howard for an interview about the film and their personal histories.  While we had them with us, it was time to have each gentleman answer the 4Qs.

Ryan O’Leary & Sam Vartholomeos are a blast.  Ryan wrote and directed “The Lost Weekend” and as the lead actor Sam made every scene of the film worth watching.  We’re proud to say that “The Lost Weekend” is in the Discover Indie Film TV Series on Amazon Prime Video, Season 4 Episode 4.  No wonder this film came out so great – everyone who collaborated on this film brought something special to it.
