first fifteen minutes but good really
To be honest I turned off this book as it started off with a married woman off to tell her lover it was over and of course they started making whoopee.
I have had the honor of being cheated on and it hurts. But lack of choices brought me back to hearing this.
It got good fast! The characters were real and believable. This book had some twists to it, all the way to the end of the story.
Really good listen and encouraging.

I liked this story because it had a fast moving, interesting plot with real, gritty characters. The story is one of failures, redemption, and all the emotions/complications that go with it.

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Allows me to listen when driving long distances. I've found that I can't drive safely and read at the same time. :)

Mixed feelings
I was really pleased to find some Christian fiction that deals with something really messy, and has characters who are flawed and quirky. On the whole I really enjoyed the story, and I thought many of the characters were great, but I was disappointed that in the end, Demi was basically portrayed as a victim of a manipulative, unhinged, serial womaniser. The author almost made her out to be a completely innocent victim of circumstance - and I'd had preferred it to remain more as it began, with her confessing that she had sinned, and feeling the weight of that.
I was also pretty unimpressed with what transpired with Demi's son - apart from his hypocrisy being extreme to the point of being implausible, it was a bit too much of a coincidence (yet somehow quite predictable too). I thought that twist was unnecessary and it undermined the credibility of the rest of the story.
Still tossing up whether I'll get the next one in the series...
