This story is good for memory-testing repetitions

This is a classic story I remember from childhood...interesting to see my granddaughter love it so much. She reads way ahead and loves to repeat the story all the way to the end. For a three-year old, this is a fun book to read.

Win win violin

If you have someone in your family who is learning to count, this is a wonderful intro to numbers.

The author uses a clever rhyme scheme to introduce the instruments of an orchestra. Not only does he count up from one to ten, but this audio version provides the sound of the instrument in question.

Readers are introduced to words like solo, duo and septet. What a fun musical way to learn about numbers.

Wonderful Gift for a Mother/Daughter pair!

Such a beautiful story for another mother and daughter. Gave as a gift to my little 3.5 year old cousin and her mother on her "Gotcha Day" anniversary. My aunt is a landscape designer and loves passing on her love of nature to her daughters, so this was absolutely perfect!

Love it!

My girls love Kevin Henkes books. This one did not disappoint. Borrow it from our local library, and decided we wanted a copy of our own. Beautiful and simple illustrations. Charming, simple stories.

I loved it so much i ended up buying it

I first got this book from the library to read to my class for our unit on plants. I loved it so much i ended up buying it. Its great to incorporate writing into our reading and science lesson and the kids love to be able to come up with their own ideas of what their gardens would look like.

The bunnies would be made out of chocolate, and I would eat them!

Such a beautiful book! A fun, imaginative topic written with flowery language. My 2 year old's favorite book!

I can't wait to give this to my daughter in her Easter basket. She loves all of the Kevin Henkes picture books: A Good Day, Kitten's First Full Moon, Old Bear, and Little White Rabbit. I know she will love this one. And I can't wait to talk about the garden project we will be embarking on and be imaginative and talk about what she would like to grow in her pretend garden like the girl in the story. Beautiful and twisted

Of the children's books we've purchased so far, and there have been many, this one has been the most entertaining for the adults. Beautiful art, an excellent and twisted sense of humor, yet still holds the attention of our 14 month old. I love kids books that don't talk down to everybody. Well deserving of its awards. Only wish it had come in board book format.

I got this book from one of my students and recently bought it for a friend. It's really cute and silly. It is a great way to get the children to discuss illustrations as they are simple yet they portray the emotion of the book very well. Children enjoy it, even more, when you use silly voices for the different animals.

Third purchase

This is the third time I've bought this book. The first time was for our family and we loved it so much that we have been purchasing copies for others. What happens when a grumpy bear goes looking for his hat in the forest. Don't ask me any more questions!

OMG Love this Book!

OMG I love this book! It's a kid's book, and I get it, but I had to have it after I read it. The artwork is attractive from the get-go and the story is short, sweet and to the point! Love, love, love this!

Ok- LOVE the quirky humor!!

This is a silly and fun read for little guys! We adults appreciate the humor, big-time. Ok, so why not a rank of 5? Well, the bear does tell a falsehood(and yes, it does add to the humor). But otherwise, it is hilarious
