The listening experience was fine; the content was B-O-R-I-N-G and regurgitated from many others prior to him. If you have just come of age, like a high school or college grad, this might be relevant for you but it's not anything new under the sun for any consummate business professional.

Yes I would. This is my first time listening to a summary of a book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dean Bokharis performances?

He did a good job reading the summary and whomever put the summary together I'm sure took the most important points. I cannot possibly imagine taking this material and creating a book out of it. I got what I needed in 30 minutes vs a 5-1/2 hour book.

This summary version wasn't that impressive.

Wasn't impressed at all. Everything said I had already knew, heard or read somewhere else. It does remind you still about what is important in life and why it should be put upfront, but doesn't really tell you how to do that.

I got this book blindly in a time of

Need when clever books were no longer of solace. i consider my self the quick witted city type, cynicism disguising my ignorance very good.

But this book and this man are an eureka

Experience for me. Beautifully crafted and presented by the author, poetic but plainly spoken, from his heart and aimed out. I loved his kindness and knowledge and wisdom and non goodies and baddies or evil shaped animal head stories, just the

clarity of truth( his words) of a better place to be which is here and now In the true dumb wonder of this existence in this terrifying fragile place where and when anything could happen( no just rainbows he does not neglect the darkness and pain) He's vision is of mystery not deceit, angels and fairies of the ancient world why not. He is in step with an old world of storytelling (no nostalgia for the good old days before penicillin) just a kind but stern warning to remember to be grateful and honest and humble, and to be present and good as you can because it's Better for us all. He also reminds us to be careful of toxic mythologies and not get duped by illusions or dingbat games, and not to mistake another grand human view for more staring at Human equipment.

some good information, but over all overwhelming. acording to the author life is toxic and creates histamine reactions. the book is all about consuming to combat histamine. less about sparkle and more about diet.

great book about PTSD. most people will relate to some or most of this subject. at one point or another we have all dealt with some degrees of PTSD. do not be misled by the somewhat corny book title. it is worth the time to read or listen to this book at least twice.

Way too much detail & simplistic. It was difficult to listen to. Perhaps good for an absolute beginner to the path but for a seasoned explorer not anything new and a lot of repetition.

Not from the genre but I will think again before buying Doreen Virtues books. Some of her more recent books come across as just pushing out material vs. quality. I completely appreciate & respect her just not this book, especially.

A tired message in a boring package

First, the narrator of this book is one of the worst I've ever heard. She reads like she's performing in a middle school production of "Annie."

As for the book itself, I was very disappointed. I'm getting really tired of the message of "forget the dishes and just play with your kids!" While there may be some women out there still seeking perfection, I think those choosing this book already have a practical attitude, and we DO play with our kids. But the dishes can't just be ignored, and neither can the other million things required to maintain minimum living standards. What we are looking for are answers for how to make that happen.

Instead, this author offers pretty useless advice about things that can't properly even be called "habits." And all of her advice is supported by nothing more than anecdotes from her own family. They're not even interesting anecdotes.

Honestly, the only good parts of this book were the title and subtitle, which are enticing but deceptive.

I found the narration was too animated for a non-fiction book. Also, there was little real content as far as help.

nothing new or startling

I struggled with finishing this. it was repetitive (many ideas we're restated over and over ad nauseum). I gained and nothing new from this book. I got annoyed by the writing style and there was nothing in this book that the average mother wouldn't already know. I wish I had saved my money.

This was an easy listen- the voice was pleasing and the story moved quickly. Lots of gems in here.

I didn't listen all in one sitting, but I did listen all within a week, which is rare for me. Usually I get bored halfway through a book, but I enjoyed this one all the way to the end!

The book moves quickly and tells a nice story with lots of shorter stories. It was quite validating in my daily life, encouraging readers/listeners to focus more on living life than keeping up with life.

refreshing ideas

It tells basics of motivation in a simple way. story is enjoying to listen. you may not hear the ideas for the first time but it is good to hear from a different mouth. In addition to these, it is a great way to spend time in traffic jam.

No! This is a spiritually-oriented book, not a cozy mystery. The narrator was not "connected" with the material & therefore the performance was very fast - frenzied almost. Was there a time limit the narrator had to adhere to?? Very disappointing!

Incredible book but changed from the original

Easily this is one of the most powerful and influential. I will listen to this repeatedly for years.

While a great book, I'm very disappointed that Waitley, for reasons of political correctness, repeatedly changed the wording throughout this classic book. While I understand and appreciate that times have changed, it's never, ever cool to rewrite books....especially if you don't specifically mention this in the book description. Such changes make it somewhat difficult to follow along in original versions of the print book. I will likely have to locate another audio version which has not been rewritten so I can study this work in detail.

PLEASE, if you rewrite books, make note of it in the descrdescriptions and don't call it "unabridged".
