Title: The Dancing Partner

Author: Jerome K. Jerome

Narrator: Cathy Dobson

Format: Unabridged

Length: 16 mins

Language: English

Release date: 08-18-14

Publisher: Red Door Audiobooks

Genres: Classics, British Literature

Publisher's Summary:

Jerome K. Jerome's masterpiece of gruesome fantasy.

A German toymaker seeks to oblige his daughter's friends by building the perfect dancing partner. He can dance all night, never treads on your feet, always says the right thing. At the ball the dancing partner is a great success...at first. But the waltz gets faster and faster...and the scene quickly turns to one of horror.

Members Reviews:

If you have it already, go ahead

A mix of funny, grim, and misogynistic. Yay. A shallowly-portrayed woman complains about her dance partners tiring out, and delights when an electrical dance partner is made. He will never tire, and is even pre-programmed for wit!

It just appears the creator forgot to add a "turn him off" function.

While this was probably a pretty good choice of reading material when it was published, time and the development of writing sensibilities makes it pretty mediocre, now. Still, it'll entertain while you read, so go ahead. IF you have this in an anthology! If you need to BUY this at the current price? Nope.
