a MUST buy

This is the 3rd time we bought this audio book. We own the cassettes, then the CDs. Lately, a CD was accidentally damamged. We bought the audible.com version. The CD version is "Your Right To Be Rich". The only difference between the CD and audible.com version is that the CD has a brief explaination in each section of how to use this book to get you prepared what to expect.

My husband and I have been listening to this audio book every day for over 5 years already. Yes, I mean every day. You could not imagine how strong the power of this philosphy works on our daily life and achievements. It keeps you motivated and postive all the time.

Plus, Napoleon Hill's voice was very energetic which grabbed your attention easily. Not to mention his humor, it sometimes gives you a good laugh of the day.

What did you love best about Napoleon Hill in His Own Voice?

I thought this would be a jumbled up bunch of lectures that would be just for those of us who are curious and to young to have heard him in person. I was wrong this is a phenomenal treasure of knowledge, much better than the audio of Laws of Success (which I also own). For such a small investment I have received a profound benefit. I am truly grateful for whoever decided to release these recordings to the public. This is his full course on success anyone can learn from them. I encourage you to buy these recordings without hesitation.

Absolutely Amazing!!

I am a huge Napoleon Hill fan. To have someone read his book to you is great but to hear him deliver the message himself is an absolute gold mine. His voice and manner of speaking really hits home with me and this is priceless and Audible is giving it to us for almost nothing.

Not really a book, but a performance

If you are a Napoleon Hill Fan, you will enjoy this audio. It is peppered with references that apply to his time, and he is not as polished of a speaker as we often listen to today. His warmth and charm comes through the audio, but it is one that I find myself drifting off while listening, so short bursts are better than a relaxing marathon read.

Anyone who could make it sound more conversational. His delivery is so Jack Handy on a sugar buzz I have a hard time actually hearing what he's saying. I wish I'd bought the book to read instead of listen.

I am not sure what I was expecting from this audiobook but it certainly wasn't what I found... I started listening to it and after the first 10 minutes I was about to turn the thing off and write this purchase off. I am so glad I didn't!! I stuck to it and found... revelation! Every day a story, a quote, a fable... every day the going deeper into the meaning of those... and every day a message, a lesson, a knowledge that cuts through the barriers and goes straight to your heart.

There are so many jewels in this audio book! They are small and clear and bright... things that, after you listen to them, you know you already knew them but for some reason you were never aware of the knowing.

Finally

I had the book in print for years and it's dog-eared pages and highlighted text well, sometimes was really hard to put down and then pick up again. Hearing it was really amazing...so glad this is in audio finally. One AHA moment that I had was the patience or "now" factor...why I must do things or have things "now" this was something I didn't fully get from the written text. I wish all her titles on this topic were in audio.

A must read

If you had an alcoholic parent ... i think you should read this book even if you think you don't ... this book awakened me to facts i have never even considered ... it helped me understand so many aspects of my personality and deal with so many of my problems

CONCISE PROBLEM ANALYSIS. SOLUTIONS, NOT SO MUCH.

I really found this book to be very enlightening. It was written and read well. As it is not my first book on the subject, it was more reinforcing in nature, which was fine. It helped me articulate issues that I needed to convey to my therapist. The narrator did a great job, she made the book feel less technical and more humanistic, as it should be.

The format of the book as that each of the characteristics of ACOA's were concisely explored first. Then when we got to the section where she was to offer some ways to address the related issues. Well, it seemed she rehashed the explanation of the issues again.

But I see the problem with this. The bottom line is, all one can do is offer some generalized insight on how to address these issues. Overcoming them is a very daunting and personal challenge. So I don't fault her. I'll keep this as a reference and highly recommend it to others who are ACOA's. It's definitely ON POINT!

This is a great book for any spouse to read that has a partner that was a child of an alcoholic. I now feel that I can understand my wife a lot better now...

It's a book for those awaken or overcoming trauma. It truly brought the moments in my life into perspective. It makes me embrace them and grow and not to feel unworth from the Mr. Fox.

Not Clarissa's best

I love Clarissa Pinkola Estes, so I was delighted to see that Audible was carrying her material. "Women Who Run With the Wolves" ignited my creativity and self-esteem. This recording, not so much. I was distracted by the accent Estes "puts on" some of the time, trying to make herself sound more earthy. The teaching stories, though, are wonderful for older women such as myself. "Warming the Stone Child" and "Theatre of the Imagination" are better, but this was good.

Milk and Honey

I was predisposed to love this book, primarily because over the years, Joshua's life and his battles have impacted me. It isn't so much the battles that I enjoy; primarily I'm awed by his faith. When I listened to this persons account of their life; speaking about how their faith opened doors; in the telling of the story, he too experienced 'Sun Stand Still' miracles. Yet, I didn't have the same degree of awe as I'd experienced when reading about Joshua's accounts. I suppose I wanted to hear more. Perhaps, I needed fuller descriptions. But, all in all; I cannot deny that, in his life he too experienced God's miracle working power.

Different narrator??

Really wish it would have been narrated by the author. I spend most of my time listening in the car and its hard to listen to. But I do enjoy the content.

Great thoughts!

This book touches on issues everyone of us deals with, almost daily. I have listened to the chapter on discipline several times! It contains excellent suggestions for life living! The only downside is I am not crazy about the narrator's voice--not a voice you want to listen to for this long of a book!

The narrator reads very very slowly and her annunciation is totally unnatural. I honestly had the book on 2x speed and it was more bearable to listen to.

This book was encouraging. I have a real problem with negative thinking, and it has helped me reevaluate my thinking.

I disagree with her presentation of prosperity though. God calls us to trust in him for what we need and them to be content, but that we should ultimately focus on heavenly things. She overemphasized material things.

Her intent is good, but the theology seems a bit shallow and focused on temporal things rather than eternal.

WONDERFUL CONTENT BUT LACKS IN NARRATION

What made the experience of listening to Power Thoughts the most enjoyable?

While I LOVE the content of this audiobook and will continue to use as a study guide, I am not a fan of the narrator. She has narrated other audiobooks I have by Joyce and I get distracted every time by the mechanical, unemotional reading. But overall, Power Thoughts has addressed every area in my life that I have struggled with and feel the value is unbeatable.

Not sound so mechanical and unemphatic in the reading. It sounds emotionally void.

If you don't know Joyce Meyer ~ you need to find out who she is. I just got home from a woman's conference, where Joyce Meyer was speaking on the power of thoughts. I not only got the audible, but I am getting the book and the dvd set, just on this book. Whether you believe in God or not, are Christian or not, are religious or not, this book is for you.

This really could have been a pamphlet

Really thought I was going to hear more words of wisdom from the Wizard but that was not the case. Yes you hear a little of what the Wiz says about each of his blocks then you hear a bunch of scripture and the actually passages. Not against the bible but that is not what I was expecting. The narrator gives each passage number as well. As famous as the Bible is I was not interested in hearing the narrator give how the passage fits the building block and the mortar. Made the book dry and less interesting.

Only gave it 3 stars because at least the blocks are given out with a bit of a reason as to why from the Wiz. Very tempted to have given it just 2 stars

They Call Him "Coach"!

As a student athlete back in the 70's when Coach Wooden was at his peak, I had the pleasure to play against Coach Wooden's teams and watch far across the court as he masterfully coached his teams to excellence.

He had such a knack for communicating to his teams what he expected on and off the court.

I have befriended several UCLA coached players from that era, and every single one of them have nothing but glowing praises to heap upon the man they all call "Coach".

This is an excellent book, not only about basketball, but more importantly about Life!

I fee ripped off...

The real book is 300+ pages. Why would they charge the same price for this abridged audio which probably equates to 50 pages of information?

COMPLETELY USELESS

What disappointed you about First Things First?

The audio book seems like an abridged version of an abridged version of an abridged version. It is extremely short, gives no actual details, and essentially covers only the introduction of each concept but never gets into the details of them. I could make the same audio book and charge you half the price and all I would have to do is read the Intro of the book, and the first few pages of each concept. Easy 5 bucks.

This is not the whole book. I'm exceptionally disappointed. What a waste of money. Wow.

Must read Life changing principles

Eye opening principles I will highly recommend it to everyone, it really focused on creating a mission statement than scheduling based on what matters most to you
