Narrator: Herman Pleij

Format: Unabridged

Length: 04:17:37

Language: English

Release date: 01-01-05

Publisher: Findaway Voices

Genres: Non-Fiction, Education

Summary:

Title: Malone Dies

Author: Samuel Beckett

Narrator: Sean Barrett

Format: Unabridged

Length: 05:41:00

Language: English

Release date: 06-15-04

Publisher: Naxos Audiobooks

Genres: Fiction & Literature, Modern, Classics

Summary:

This is the second in the famous trilogy of novels written by Samuel Beckett in the late 1940s. An old man is dying in a room. His bowl of soup comes, his pots are emptied. He waits to die. And while he waits, he constructs stories, mainly to pass the time. Saposcat, the Lambert family, Macmann and his nurse Moll. Other figures weave in and out of his vision and his imagination. This remarkable soliloquy, so intrinsically Beckettian, is as important as Waiting for Godot or Endgame, the famous plays that made his name. Sean Barrett gives a masterly performance.

Titre: Histoires pragoises

Auteur: Rainer Maria Rilke

Narrateur: Didier Sandre

Format: Unabridged

Durée: 03:34:30

Langue: Français

Date de publication: 05-02-04

Éditeur: Editions Theleme from W. F. Howes

Genres: Fiction & Literature, Classics

R.M. Rilke

Title: Roman Lives

Author: Plutarch

Narrator: Nicholas Farrell, Steve Hodson

Format: Abridged

Length: 07:46:00

Language: English

Release date: 02-19-04

Publisher: Naxos Audiobooks

Genres: Biography & Memoir, History & Culture

Summary:

Though he was Greek, Plutarch wrote his Lives in the first century, a world dominated by the Roman Empire. Plutarch's series of biographies was the first of its kind, as much groundbreaking in conception as the Histories of Herodotus. Plutarch looked at the great men in the Ancient World and told their stories, in many cases drawing on sources which are no longer available to us. They offer a unique insight into the characters as well as the achievements of men who influenced their age and the empires that their culture dominated. Here he considers some of the major figures that had left their stamp on the history of Rome, including generals, rulers, philosophers and politicians. It is the companion volume to Greek Lives, also read with style by Nicholas Farrell on Naxos AudioBooks.
