Publisher's Summary:
When was the last time God was an active participant in one of your conversations? How does God get into a conversation if His people are sidelined or silent? As ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, it is the Christians' responsibility to speak the mind of Christ in the context of every cultural conversation, no matter how contentious. If Christians are silent then God is effectively sidelined.
The Christian viewpoint is desperately needed in the cultural conversations of our day, but Christians have been effectively muted because they are not equipped to engage and combat the aggressive arrogance of those who actively seek to silence all viewpoints but their own. In Speak the Truth, Carmen LaBerge aims to get Christians off the sidelines and back in the conversation.

Helpful, thoughtful, respectful
A worthwhile read. Thoughtful, respectful and thorough description of contemporary culture. Biblical support was sensible and well applied.
Easy to read book with lots of meat and encouragement
Carmen LaBerge has written a book that is thoughtful, honest, gracious and a call to action. She writes in a tone that is clear and direct and yet manages to guide the reader to live out love. I have recommended this book to numerous people. It will not disappoint and will guide you to winsomely bring God into more conversations.

Powerfully transforming read!
Speak the Truth is an immediate call to action for every man and woman of faith. Carmen Laberge calls us not to stand on the sidelines, screaming our heads off at the moral decay around us nor bury our heads in the sand hoping that things will magically improve or someone else will engage the culture. Mrs. Laberge reminds us that "someone" is us. Yet do we have the "Father's heart and the mind of Christ" when we enter conversations? Sadly, most times we do not. We rant and rave and point and sadly misrepresent the One we claim to represent--the One who genuinely loves the person before whom we stand. Only when we enter a conversation in a way that honors Christ, do we see that others "don't need a piece of our mind," but rather "the peace of the mind of Christ." But how can we speak, if we ourselves who claim to be followers of Christ do not give Him His rightful place in our own lives?
Carmen Laberge, therefore, challenges us to first examine our own walk and then encourages and equips us with the tools necessary to engage in conversations as an ambassador of grace, speaking God's truth in love because we genuinely care about the person before us. Only then can we "put God back where He belongs, in the middle of every conversation."
I highly recommend this book. I have dog-eared and underlined every page. The writing is brilliant, compelling, straightforward, authentic, and convicting. I wish I could purchase a copy for everyone who professes to love God that they too would be motivated to love their neighbor graciously and purposefully live as God's ambassadors now.
"As we see God more clearly,
walk with God more closely,
honor God more fully,
yield to God more completely,
yearn for God more deeply,
respond to God more readily,
we begin to speak of God more openly."
A Call to Action for Christians
Speak the Truth offers good guidance to the 21st century Christian in America.
