A book written about a website that auto-generated an account for me based off an email they skimmed from LinkedIn, featuring thousands of sucker, er, "users" who all discover that they can't actually get paid their supposed earnings. A site that I never logged into, yet they still spam me, even though I clicked "unsubscribe" in the hopes of not receiving their emails that I never subscribed to in the first place.

A book given 5 stars by "Angela," who just opened up an Amazon account to review one and only one product. Or how about Lou Flores, who also reviewed one and only one product. Or May Ram, who also gives a glowing review in her one product review? Same for Gabriela, alexandru, deborah rolon, Manuela Alexuc, Catharina Claessens, "Amazon Customer" (very creative, guys), DO DUY PHUONG, Lina Tanase, GERALD BELANIGUE, a second "Amazon Customer" (less creativity than I thought), and L Thành Kng.

Very good book. I had a hard time putting in down. It was very well written and I hope I get to meet the author some day!

Total scam

So I received an email invite from someone I trusted for this site. The site then skimmed my GMail address book and invited everyone without my permission or even telling me. I had to deal with the damage control of people asking me what I asked them to sign up for.

I guess the "idea" is you can grow by theft and dishonesty. I wouldn't trust a word from these people.

A great overview of the topic

The author describes the history of the idea (cultured meats) and different manifestations of the technology. The author did a good job describing various companies that are tackling the problems of industrial agriculture, their motivations, how they got their start, their idea and the obstacles they are trying to address (e.g. Clara Foods, Perfect Day, New Harvest, Memphis Meats). The author also mentioned some of the critics and they're hesitations.

I was most surprised by how long some people have been working on this idea (10-15 years). It was also interesting to hear about plant based alternatives and how far that technology has already come, and I think that really grounded the book a little bit. The author honestly acknowledged that some people think this technology will never be economically feasible.

If you're looking for an overview of the topic, I think this book does a great job.

A must read and/or listen

This book is a fascinating insider look in to possibly the most important technological discovery ever made. The style of writing translates very well to audiobook format and the narration is great. Highly recommended.

Wikileaks in Perspective

This book demonstrates the advantages of reading books about issues over watching the news. Up to when I read this book, I had only heard snippets about things that Wikileaks had leaked, but nothing that really explained what it was all about. This book really helped to put it into the broader perspective of transparency in general. Well worth reading.

Worthwhile cash in that has good and bad points

Wikileaks and the Age of Transparency (2011) by Micah Sifry is an interesting but flawed book about Wikileaks and how the internet is changing politics. It uses the fame of Wikileaks to promote the author's own agenda.

Sifry is a successful and interesting person who set up the Personal Democracy Forum and works with Techsoup in similar domains. The book refers to his endeavors repeatedly.

Book has lot of greatly formulated ideas. Includes many interesting parallels any analogies with various events. After listening/reading you will be able to explain importance of bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I also recommend first volume of this book.

Second Even Better Than First

Coming off of reading the first book last week I dove into this one. Finishing in less than 5 days. Excellently Done once again Andreas. You WILL understand what the real promise of Bitcoin is after reading this.
