but I didn't think the stories were as good as they've been in other Chicken Soup books

I gave this book to my grandsons and only read bits and pieces before giving it to them. It was alright, but I didn't think the stories were as good as they've been in other Chicken Soup books.

I don't dislike this book. It was an average book.

In Love with these LOVE stories!

When I received this book I couldn't stop reading it. You will love each and every story. I felt identified with some of the stories and that was wonderful. Some stories you would want to cry and laugh but they are all special and I'm glad I bought this book. Highly satisfied!

Terrific, uplifting ideas to improve your life.

I have definitely read and listened to my share of "self-help" books during my 20 or so years of self-discovery and improvement. This book rates in the top five for me. I've already listened to it twice in 3 days and have come away with great ideas that are easy to implement. We all need those little common sense reminders every so often to remind us of what really is important in the "big picture". I liked this book so much that I'm actually writing my first review since I joined Audible last year. "Easier Than You Think" is read by the Richard Carlson of "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff" books, his voice is friendly and easy to listen to. I am actually going to buy the print version also, just to be able to refer back quickly to some of his helpful suggestions. But, I am glad I did listen to it on audio first as I think it helps to sink deeper into my consciousness.

Must-Read! Life-changing!

Loved it!! 2nd book I've listened to from Dr Carlson, and I am eager for my next one! I now have a completely different viewpoint on life, and best of all its all so simple!! Where's this book been all my life?!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I was able to listen to Marianne at the Health Club or while cooking/cleaning. It was a perfect audiobook because her ideas were clear and true and it didn't matter if I forgot where I left off -- all of it contained valuable insights that didn't have to be understood by what came before. So I was always starting fresh - not having to remember where it left off. Marianne is a dynamic and sincere seeker and it comes through clearly in her audio....

Excellent content let down by poor sound quality

Would you listen to Being in Light again? Why?

I will definitely be listening again despite the appalling old tape cassette sound quality. The content is practical, easy to relate to and Marianne's delivery is very personable and without monotonousness, preachiness nor dryness. The feminine touch brings a deeper and more empathetic connection to the material which I, as a male, appreciate tenfold over male speakers. Marianne brings an emotionally relatable connection to the course content. Her reflections upon the manner in which the course has its place in every day perception brings the course down to the level at which I feel it has the greatest potential to change minds and open hearts.

Any additional comments?

The sound quality of this recording is the cause of 2 stars for overall audiobook presentation. The recording here is intermittently of degraded clarity, and the recording is obviously provided 'as is' from an old tape cassette source. The change in sound quality is apparent when the tape sides are changed (roughly every 40 minutes) and the sound is considerably muffled for the whole side.

Listening whilst driving I had to set Treble to maximum, Bass to minimum and turn up the volume yet it was still difficult to understand what Marianne was saying. Many passages I couldn't understand at all.

The fact that at times you will receive a less than perfected audio quality product from Audible.com has at such incidents caused me to look elsewhere for a higher sound quality version, and I have found higher quality on other audiobook sites.

Still, this in no way stops me from encouraging that people purchase this audiobook.

Dr. Arrien uses her wisdom, stories, myth, and warm style to guide you through the process of finding meaning and purpose in your life. Great Content, could be slower

This is GREAT content. Very powerful stuff. The author's recording of this could definitely be slower. I found myself needing to feel like a speed demon moving through each of the tapping Affirmations and definitely no long enough length of a pause is left for the seed mantra chanting 10 times (I actually thought he would be doing the chanting with us but he just says to do it). But all that aside, I found I would pause it after each affirmation and just continue to listen and pause to do/implement. If this works for you it won't bother you too. It's a bit annoying but I'm on a big listen vs visual kick right now and that just worked for me as a good compromise. The content is still great and it's an affordable buy with my Audible subscription.

Did not work for me, narrated way too fast

The book is narrated so fast that it is very challenging to keep up with the tapping. I got really irritated and the whole thing did not work a bit.
