I was privileged and honoured to have had an opportunity to discuss Allan's Chapter, Discoveries. Coincidentally, Allan's hometown, Dundee (in Scotland) means The City of Discovery. Allan takes us through his journey of Discovery by articulating a time when working in various careers lacked meaning; a clear moment of what fulfillment looked like when he was an observer; his opportunity to migrate to Australia; the commencement of his Discovery journey within a role (in the Disability sector) that provided the meaning he was searching for; and how this journey has unfolded. From the multiple points that deeply resonated with me, Allan mentioned his Utopic world would have a role & space for every individual and this created a heartfelt delight. Allan's key takeaways included - demonstrate empathy & kindness, and engage in authentic conversations with people (even if it's just a greeting).
