Do you approach Scripture looking for contradiction and development, or do you approach the Bible as if it was written by God, allowing one passage to throw light on another? The Bible has one author who is God, given to us through human channels for the purpose of leading us to an obedient and worshipful knowledge of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us.

The Bible is a book that understands us individually. It affects us like no other book. It changes us. We become different as a result of encountering it. The object of the Bible in each of its parts is to point to Jesus, to tell us about our sin and our need for a saviour and a God who acts in love to redeem sinners.

Can we trust the Bible? Is the Bible truly the word of God? With the words in the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are able to learn who God is, what he has done for us, and how we can respond to him and live our lives in relationship with him.

One of the striking similarities between White and Indigenous communities today is the breakdown of intergenerational relationships. With this in mind, one of the most important opportunities we have in the church is to recover the lost art of mentoring, which Paul encourages in Titus 2:1-8. Ben will share thoughts on why and how we should do this, based on this and other passages as well as his own experience.

Check out this past Sunday's sermon from Pastor Martin on the Abuse of Power and Authority. One life is drifting further and further into disobedience; the other is drawing closer and closer to God in obedience.  One is a heart that is after his own heart; the other is a heart that is after God’s own heart.

One life is drifting further and further into disobedience; the other is drawing closer and closer to God in obedience. One is a heart that is after his own heart; the other is a heart that is after God’s own heart. This message also shows the relationship between the abuse of power and submission to God through obedience.

Seeking answers and guidance apart from God is a form of disobedience. Even when you don't hear from God right away, dig deep into your faith, accessing God through the Word of God, prayer and worship.

Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one else is looking, while recognizing God always has eyes-on! When push comes to shove, how will we react when given the opportunity to right a wrong? Will we retaliate, or will we obey God and heed His ways? We learn from David that there's a difference between striking back and holding someone accountable.

What is God looking for in a follower of his son Jesus? Obedience! It’s far too easy to compromise and only half obey, to try and hedge your bets or to rush ahead. How we look in front of others and how we see ourselves leads us to pride.
