One of the opening day attractions at Disneyland in 1955 was the Mule Pack. An incredibly popular ride in its time, the Mule Pack evolved into the Rainbow Ridge Pack Mules and finally into the Pack Mules Through Nature's Wonderland.

In 1955, the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship Restaurant stood in a shallow lagoon at the back of Fantasyland. It was joined in 1960 by Skull Rock, which featured lights and waterfalls and served as a seating area for patrons of the Pirate Ship Restaurant.

Narrated by Paul Frees of The Haunted Mansion fame, Adventure Thru Inner Space opened as a key attraction of the New Tomorrowland of 1967. Sponsored by Monsanto, the ride was based on the premise that passengers in their Atommobiles were shrunk down to the size of a snowflake in order to explore the wonders of inner space.
