  • Disenfranchised Podcast EP 46 w/David Gedert aka "Sugar Vermonte"

Had such a good time chatting with "Sugar Vermonte" aka David Gedert, a prominent Toledo, Ohio-based entrepreneur, drag performer, and (unfortunately former) political candidate. Gedert is the owner of the pink-painted Toledo mac-and-cheese food truck, Maybe Cheese Born With It. He gained widespread recognition after taking his food truck to the finale and placing second on Season 15 of Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race.

In January 2026, Gedert announced a high-profile bid for Congress in Ohio's 9th District. Running as a Libertarian candidate, his campaign challenges the traditional two-party system with a focus on cutting excessive government regulation for small businesses and preserving individual rights. As catalogued on the show, he was swindled out of his race. He hosts the Toledo-area podcast Sweet Tea with Sugar and has previously joined the morning show lineup on Party 103.3 FM. He is heavily active in local service, supporting organizations like the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

  • Disenfranchised Podcast EP 43 w/Metin Pekin, award winning author, entrepreneur, and political economist

We are honored to have Metin Pekin on to talk about his award winning book: below is a summary of the book. Can't wait to read it and have him on again to dig into it more!

Breaking Democracy’s Chains: Freeing and Fortifying Democracy Against Hidden Capture is a 2026 Gold award-winning political non-fiction book written by entrepreneur and political economist Metin Pekin. The book critiques modern political structures, arguing that contemporary political parties have captured the democratic process, shifting representation into ritual to serve the financial elite rather than regular citizens.

  • Disenfranchised Podcast EP 38 w/ Michael Wilhelm, backgold.com CEO

I met Michael "Amadeus" Wilhelm at the Libertarian Party of Ohio's convention and we've been tight ever since. He is the VP of the Libertarian Leadership Academy, which has had me on twice now for awesome interviews, and he along with a great team have unveiled www.backgold.com, which is set to change the way that Libertarians and other third party candidates manage their campaigns. We had an AWESOME 2 hour conversation; dug deep, went off the rails a couple times; which is, you know, par for the course.
