The Disney Parks we enjoy today owe it all to those early innovators at Walt Disney Imagineering. Of that hand selected group of artists and engineers, one man stands above the rest. Literally. Over six feet, six inches tall, Claude Coats had enormous talent to match his stature. Originally from the animation crew at Disney Studios, Walt brought the "gentle giant" aboard the Disneyland project as the park was nearing completion to help create Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. And over the decades, Claude had a huge part in creating the Disney magic we still love today.

We're proud to join Claude's son, Alan Coats (An Imagineer himself), to celebrate Claude's 100th Birthday and remember his amazing 54 year Disney career.

Join the Most Interesting Disneyland Fan in the World, Dizzy Landers, along with Electric Mic & Trevor for a rollicking good time from DPN Westfest Oh-Twelve. The event kicked off with a rousing round of "Canoe-oke", where intrepid vocalists sang a verse from Dizzy's song to win a coveted special edition coonskin cap! Once properly outfitted with this ceremonial headwear, we boarded Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes for a pulse-pounding canoe race around Disneyland's Rivers of America. Now, THAT'S a Summer Park Hoppin' Party!

From Sleeping Beauty to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Ron has lent his talents to many films, animated TV series and now commerative Disney art for fans and collectors. He is also a mentor to young animators and has been named the Monterey County Film Commission's 2010 Lifetime Champion of the Arts. You'll love this guy...and, as you'll see, the mosquitos love him too...
