The origin of the Druun is mostly left a mystery other than a few words by Sisu, but to me I think Maui was the one who unleashed the dark force that was able to evolve into the dangerous plague that Kumandra had to face in Raya and the Last Dragon! After stealing the Heart of Te Fiti, I believe the darkness that came forth evolved, changed, and transformed into the Druun!
