dis•niche (a podcast for disney fans)

We are FINALLY continuing with the MCU's Maximoff saga as we take on the next three episodes of the iconic Disney+ miniseries WandaVision, this time covering episodes 4-9. We have been away for more than a year due to my (Christopher) focus having to be primarily on The Fringe Podcast Rewatch, but my co-host and I recently wrapped that up after reviewing all five seasons, so we are officially back! (Note: Because this episode was recorded last year, you'll notice some outdated aspects such as our wondering when an MCU X-Men adaptation might be coming our way.) We talk about our favorite scenes from this block of episodes, including but not limited to seeing Evan Peters' Quicksilver at the end of episode 5, Wanda's confrontation with S.W.O.R.D., and Wanda's Hex expanding at the end of this block of episodes, and we can't wait to get to the final three episodes of the series especially since that's when we finally find out who Agnes O'Connor really is (hint - it was Agatha all along!). Join us next time as we finally bring our discussion around this incredible and unique miniseries to a close!

We have been away for a very long while due to life being incredibly chaotic and not allowing me much time for audio editing, but Ric and I are finally back to discuss the first three episodes of the iconic Disney+ miniseries WandaVision, which kickstarted the MCU's Multiverse Saga. We reflect on what we remember our initial thoughts being at the time and how confused we were regarding what was going on, and we also share our deep love and appreciation for the great Kathryn Hahn who is introduced to the MCU here as Agnes O'Connor (whom we later learn is the nefarious witch Agatha Harkness). We are so excited to be covering this series and are excited to be back, so please join us for this journey through the Maximoff saga!

I (Christopher) am switching things up a little for this episode as I am joined by my good friend Darrell to talk about our exciting adventure to Disneyland last October! That's right - a long-held wish of mine was finally realized, and I made it to a Disney park! Listen in as we talk about our three days there and our favorite (and maybe not so favorite) rides and events. Ric will be back next episode as we take on the first three episodes of WandaVision!

We get a little enchanted for this episode as we cover Enchanted! Enchanted is an unusual Disney movie for several reasons - it's partially animated and partially live-action and is also a Disney movie that is both celebrating and poking fun at, well, Disney. Join us as we discuss our favorite moments from the movie and how we both love Amy Adams' performance as Giselle! Be sure to tune in next time as we cover the sequel, Disenchanted!

If you are wondering why we are covering Barbie (a Warner Bros. movie with no direct connection to Disney) on a Disney podcast, then tune in because we shall explain! Ric and I both love this movie so much, and I don't think that our justification for covering it is too much of a stretch... certainly not enough to break a Barbie and make her a Weird Barbie! Listen in as we chat about what we love so much about this movie, including its casting, its music, its cinematography, and even how it emotionally touched us and changed our lives! Be sure to tune in next time as we pivot directly back to Disney for Enchanted!

I am flying solo for this episode and am talking about the 2002 animated movie Mickey's House of Villains, which I checked out because I love Disney Villains! However, without spoiling too much of what I have to say here, let's just say that this movie isn't quite what I was expecting. It's also a Halloween movie, so... happy early Halloween! (I mean, it's Halloween every day as far as I am concerned, so...) What are your thoughts on Mickey's House of Villains? Do you agree with my thoughts, or am I completely wrong? Please feel free to reach out via one of the contact methods listed below! Next up, Ric and I will be tackling the 2023 film Barbie! (Why are you covering a WB movie on a Disney podcast, you might be asking? We will explain; I promise!)

As per Ric's suggestion, Ric and I are here for MORE as we walk through the 1990 film Dick Tracy! While we recognize that there may be some who don't look back at this film as fondly as we do, we seem to be in agreement that this is a truly unique, fun film! Listen as Ric nerds out about Madonna and we discuss this whacky film that we are in equal agreement is underappreciated. We would love to hear from listeners with your thoughts, so please feel free to reach out via one of the contact methods listed below! I will be flying solo next time covering Mickey's House of Villains, but until then, remember that nothing is better than MORE!

Join us this week as we wade through the various elements of the 2023 Disney/Pixar movie Elemental! An animated movie about finding love in unexpected places (like the basement of your father's snack shop) and with unexpected people, we walk through the plot and share our thoughts on whether or not the movie strikes a match with us. What are your thoughts on Elemental? Did we miss or overlook something? Do you agree or disagree with our thoughts? We would love to hear from you, so please feel free to reach out via one of the contact methods listed below! We will also be covering the 1990 Touchstone Pictures film Dick Tracy next, so feel free to share your thoughts on that movie as well and/or anything related to Disney!

Join me as I take yet another dive under the sea discussing the live-action 2023 remake of The Little Mermaid! Joined again by Ric (who will be my permanent co-host from here on out!), we discuss what about this remake works for us and what maybe doesn't work as well, what we think of the new songs, our thoughts about the cast (we seem to be in agreement that Melissa McCarthy is one of the best parts of the movie), and so much more! How does this movie stack up against some of the other live-action adaptations that we have gotten over the last several years such as Beauty and the Beast (2017), Aladdin (2019), The Lion King (2019), etc., and how does it stack up against the original animated film from 1989? We had such a great time talking about this movie together and can't wait for you to hear our observations and critiques! Next up, we will be discussing the 2023 Disney/Pixar movie Elemental, and we would love to hear thoughts! Please feel free to reach out via any of the contact methods listed below!
