Distraction Avenue

A solo mini-episode: quick takes on the Oscars/Price Waterhouse debacle, the great marketing for Moonlight, Neil Diamond on tour!, and the greatest "coming of age" story - a tragicomedic deflowering tale.

Thank you to www.allmusicbooks.com!

Mel is on vacation so Steve does another solo turn, this time riffing on yet another great Cheap Trick song that was on a soundtrack; reviewing/analyzing a Super Bowl prediction (not the game's outcome) and the Grammies, Metallica and Lady Gaga. And the amazing and adorable Goats of Anarchy! Steve also explains why writing is a cathartic distraction and tells you about "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover."

Steve flies solo for episode 10, getting distracted by a largely forgotten song by his "all-time favorite band of all-time", Cheap Trick; gives a Super Bowl prediction, and pays attention to the importance of paying attention to dedication and great performances in sports, arts, or wherever. And, GOATS OF ANARCHY!

Mel returns for the first time in 2017! Mel & Steve disect new year's goals or lack thereof, realize that several new TV series are more interesting than the Oscars, and the Juggaloes star in Weird News.

Steve does a solo turn, riffing about New Year's resolutions his goals for 2017; college & pro football, pro wrestler Jimmy Snuka's death and not getting robbed of your Chicken McNuggets

Mel and Steve go overboard without a life-raft waxing enthusiastically and nostalgically about their favorite holiday songs of the (mostly) rock variety.  Father Christmas, give us your money, we'll beat you up and steal all your toys while we Step Into Chrismas and say "Feliz Navidad" and donde esta, "Santa Cleese with no shoes on his feet..."

The Weapon of Self-Distraction Podcast finally gets a co-host, Steve's good friend Mel!

On episode #7 Mel adds a much needed second voice, opinions and more to the various distractions discussed. Such as: Why can't brothers in bands ever get along? Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and Colin Farrell; Manchester By The Sea and Casey Affleck a Holiday Hole and a squid in the face.

The Weapon of Self-Distraction podcast isn't brought to you by anyone but Steve & Mel. However, we are open to happily talking about you, your product, or serivce. Just reach out to us Facebook.com/weaponofselfdistraction.
