Questions for Discussion:
1. Have you ever been distracted to the point of getting lost or in trouble or it being dangerous? Tell the story.
2. Have you ever gotten distracted from a long-term, goal, objective, or ambition? What is it that distracts you?
3. If God has a vision for your life, how do you think we would discover it? Do you think it would somehow fit into God’s purposes for the world? If so, what do you think those would be?
4. Read Joshua 1:1-7. What were the Israelites supposed to do? What purpose did God give them? Read Judges 2:7-12. What happened? How do you think that happened?
5. Read Matthew 28:18-20. Do we have a purpose or mission given to us? What is that exactly? Is it possible for the church to get distracted? How does that happen?
6. What is one way you can engage in the mission God has given his church in Matthew 28:18-20? If you had to choose between: Go, Send, Welcome, Pray, or Mobilize, which would be the way you would choose to be involved in the mission? How do you intend to do that?
