The Washington Commanders lost on the road to the Philadelphia Eagles 24-22.

Amit and KDot go through positives, negatives, and give out their game balls to the players they thought played best for the Commanders.

The Washington Commanders (0-0) take on the Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) on the road at Lincoln Financial Field to kick off the regular season this Sunday at 4:25pm ET on FOX in America’s Game Of The Week! This episode features a full game preview & game predictions. We begin with the context around the game in the form of the injury report, and it is already riddled with names for the Commanders. The big names are edge rushers K’Lavon Chaisson and Odafe Oweh, who have both been limited with injuries, as is starting RB Bill Croskey-Merritt, who has been limited with a groin injury. DT Daron Payne popped up on the injury report, limited with a knee injury, while the rest of the names are all full participants. The Eagles, in contrast, only have 2 names on their injury report: Edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, acquired from Minnesota, and 2nd round TE Eli Stowers. Greenard is expected to be on a snap count if he plays, and Stowers may end up being inactive anyway, so the Eagles are very healthy overall. We begin the preview of the matchup with the Washington Commanders offense, featuring QB Jayden Daniels, against this excellent and consistent Philadelphia Eagles defense. David Blough is a first time playcaller, so he will have his hands full on the road in his debut. Can the Commanders run the ball? If they are able to, that should really open up the passing game for playmakers Terry McLaurin, Stefon Diggs, and Chig Okonkwo. If not, we could see some attempted hero ball form Jayden Daniels that, while fun to watch, results in him exposing himself to unnecessary hits. The Eagles defense features 4 pro bowlers from last season, with the latter 2 being 1st team all-pro, in LB Zack Baun, DT Jalen Carter, and CBs Cooper Dejean and Quinyon Mitchell. We then flip the script and discuss the new look Commanders defense, featuring 1st round pick Sonny Styles, against QB Jalen Hurts, RB Saquon Barkley, and this Eagles offense. The offensive coordinator for Philadelphia this season is Sean Mannion, former QBs Coach with the Green Bay Packers. The plan is still to run the ball a lot, and Saquon Barkley loves playing the Commanders, going for over 115 rushing yards and a TD in all 4 of his games for Philadelphia against us. Can we slow him down? We’ve brought in OLB Odafe Oweh, S Nick Cross, and NT Tim Settle to help solve that problem. On the backend, the secondary will have to contain the one WR Jalen Hurts does have experience throwing to in DeVonta Smith and that’s where the Commanders can exploit this offense. The Commanders are 5.5 point road underdogs with an over-under set at 44.5 points. Who do you think wins this game and who is your player of the game?A new segment called “A-Train’s Lines” features Amit picking 3 NFL games against the spread as he hopes to go 3-0 and make some listeners some money! The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments! The Washington Commanders went up to Baltimore for a joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday and got smoked on offense thanks to a revolving door at offensive line, with Sam Cosmi and Nick Allegretti both missing the practice. The interior of Julian Good-Jones, Matt Gulbin and Tanoi Togiai were beaten up by the Ravens front. However, there was some good! Antonio Williams was excellent against the Ravens, winning 1v1 battles with Nate Wiggins and Kyle Hamilton, while catching the winning TD from Jayden Daniels. The defense, with absences of their own in Odafe Oweh, K'Lavon Chaisson and Tim Settle, continued to look solid. We preview the final preseason game before the 2026 NFL Regular Season kicks off for our Commanders. The Washington Commanders concluded a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, and had both positives and negatives that came from it. Jayden Daniels and the Commanders WRs looked fantastic against a banged up Dolphins secondary, while the running game looked bad against the Dolphins front. More is needed from the interior guys in Chris Paul and Julian Good-Jones. What stuck out to you in what you saw/heard from joint practices? We then give some names to watch ahead of the preseason game tomorrow night against the Dolphins. Names include WRs Jaylin Lane and Luke McCaffrey, TE Ben Sinnott, and a number of defensive players such as S/LB Tyler Owens, LBs Jordan Magee and Joshua Josephs.Jayden Daniels was also in the news because #5, the number he wore at LSU, was given to a sophomore CB DJ Pickett. His team put out a cease and desist letter around his NIL usage with LSU. We discuss. The Comment Mailbag features over 20 comments! Thank you all for the comments!
