It took twenty years before she was able to reunite with her long lost passion for horses and their ability to heal. In that time, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Corporate Communication from Arcadia University and became a twice two hundred hour certified yoga instructor in both Hatha and Vinyasa. It was the loss of her mother, Rose, to breast cancer, which ultimately shifted her trajectory from the corporate world to the internal work for which yoga, as a practice, is renowned.

I didn’t start off then with a horse of my own, but through my Uncle Maurice’s insistence, “She needs a horse,” I received one shortly thereafter.It wasn’t until later in my life that I learned just how majestic horses really are. This pulled me into a journey to understand them more, which led me to taking an Equine Assisted Learning Certification course. In addition to that I began reading voraciously, going to horse barns, clinics and taking my own horse to clinics as well.  I wanted to deeply understand how horses created this feeling of aliveness and joy within me, just by being around them.At the same time, when I started asking myself deeper questions about the direction for my career and life, I kept being pulled to work with horses. I felt I needed to develop the inner gifts of spiritual connection I already possessed. In my heart I knew I was born to be of service, to help people – but I didn’t know what that looked like. During my own life I had experienced my own share of pain, grief and loss of self to a point of feeling my spirit was broken. With the help and love of a special person I found my way back to me.So this is a little about my background and my WHY for what I am offering.What I know to be true is – horses are one of the greatest learning and healing partners you can be guided by. And in partnership with them, I am committed to helping my clients find their way back to their true selves, healing their spirits and finding their joy.

Come and listen while Host Heather Driedger interviews extraordinary people on Smile, there’s on Oil for that Podcasts only on the Divas That Care Network. How exciting to have my second interview with guest Keli’ikanoe Mahi of the Big Island of Hawaii.  As Collective 25 Members Bonnie Erbe and myself have the privilege of hosting a doTERRA leader led Co-Impact Sourcing Trip for Hawaiian Sandalwood and Naio Wood at Kealakekua Mountain Reserve January 20-25, 2025.  Keli’ikanoe Mahi the Executive Director – (Hiki Ola) and I have been communicating and planning this trip for a year.  I am thrilled to have her share the magic of Kapalina and the details of our 5 Night Stay in January. Keliʻikanoe Mahi was born and raised on Oʻahu.  She attended Kamehameha Schools, a school for children of Hawaiian ancestry.  She earned her degree in Hawaiian Studies with a focus on the Hawaiian language from the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo.  Keliʻikanoe received her teaching license in Secondary Education and taught Hawaiian language as a subject and also taught through the medium of Hawaiian in the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Education for 22 years.  During her time as a teacher, she earned her Masters in Educational Counseling.  She served as the Principal of Ke Kula ʻo ʻEhunuikaimalino, K-12 a Hawaiian language immersion school before making the recent career change to the non-profit world.  She has been the Director of Hiki Ola since 2020.  Keliʻikanoe loves expanding education beyond the classroom by bringing students of all ages up to the Native Hawaiian forest at Kealakekua Mountain Reserve through Hiki Ola's educational engagement program.  She enjoys perpetuating the Hawaiian language and culture in any way possible. hikiola.org
