Breeze Velasquez is UCLA's current student body president who is leading her administration to push forward hybrid learning for UC students who are disabled and immunocompromised by COVID-19, yet don't feel safe returning back to in-person learning as they become the first UC campus to reopen.

Her administration partnered with other student organizations like the Disabled Student Union to lead a historic 2-week sit-in as a stark protest in response to their campus' shifting rhetoric in moving itself forward beyond the pandemic.

She shares what can be done at the systematic level to overcome generational trauma within the Black community.
