Divine Connections

As Christians how are we supposed to relate to unbelievers? All of us have family, friends and co-workers who don’t ‘yet’ know Jesus. What’s God's purpose for us in their lives? This week we’re talking about how to shine as lights ‘among’ the not yet redeemed.

How do you relate to others in the Body of Christ? Our word for this episode is alongside. As believers we have the privilege and responsibility to walk alongside one another in love. Sharing our gifts,  bearing each other’s burdens and caring for the needs of others in the Family of God. Listen in as I share how I’ve seen this working in the life of some people I love. . .

What word comes to mind when you think of your family? Those people you didn’t choose and who didn’t choose you, unless of course you were adopted. Whatever word first comes to mind for you  ~ OUR word in this episode about family is FROM. You are, for better or for worse, FROM your family.

What’s the one word that defines your relationship with your children?

Over, you are over your children. You have a God ordained role of leadership in their lives. In fact, parenting is leadership wrapped in love. Let’s talk about what that means for you and your children.

What word defines your relationship with your husband? Years ago a friend’s husband identified in just one word the thing he’d sometimes felt was missing and I’ve never forgotten what he said. He said sometimes he’d felt she wasn’t with him. One short word holding incredible potential for a deeply satisfying marriage. Listen in. . . 

For the next seven episodes we’ll be talking about relationships. The 7 relationships that are common to most of us as Christian women. God designed us for relationship with Himself and with others, but sometimes we find those relationships perplexing and honestly, a little bit difficult to navigate.

But God helps us by revealing His design for our relationships. It’s in understanding His design that we find clarity and comfort as we relate to an ever widening circle of others in our life. Today we’ll begin with your relationship with God. Listen in. . .

In today’s episode we encounter king Hezekiah getting what most of us would think of as the worst possible news. God has sent the prophet Isaiah to the king with a message,  “Set your house in order for you shall die and not live.”

What would you do? How would you respond? Is there even a right response to that kind of news? Should king Hezekiah have had a different response than the one he did have? There’s no way to know for certain, but there are clues.  And the clues provide a trail of breadcrumbs that lead us to three important questions we have to answer if we want to gain an eternal perspective when confronted with incredibly bad news.
