I never set out to have a podcast, so after finishing Season One, it took a little time to determine whether I wanted to keep at it. In the end, however, I think "Divine Fingerprints" is God's project -- both the book and the podcast. I believe there's value in doing God's work, and I don't think He wanted me to stop with one season. As of now, Season Two may only include a few new episodes, but hey, this is an unpaid side gig!

To kick off Season Two, I visit with my friend and former colleague at Hope Christian, Damon Fleming. Damon was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in 2014, and he's been dealing with it ever since. When we recorded this episode last summer, Damon was in complete isolation after being hospitalized and going through treatment that left him weak and vulnerable to being around anyone. God's presence and the evidence of His work in our lives takes on a very different meaning when facing down an illness that threatens life itself. Thankfully, Damon is currently in remission, and I hope you'll join me in praying for that to continue. I also hope you'll enjoy his perspective.

The Divine Fingerprints podcast really is Bob Goff's idea, so it only seemed fitting to conclude Season 1 with our conversation from Instagram live, filmed a couple of weeks ago. God uses divine fingerprints to show off aspects of His character, but it seems that most often this evidence shows His goodness. Kim Stuart spent much of her life thinking that she needed to earn God's favor, only to realize that His grace is unmerited favor. She didn't need to keep striving to earn something she had already been given. Through God's grace and the evidence of His presence in our lives, we see His goodness.

We tend to turn to God when we run out of answers. As a Certified Educational Planner, our guest this week, Glenda Durano, has regularly encouraged prospective college students as they embark on the biggest decision of their lives to that point. Many pray for clarity.

Yet other times, we think we have the answer and pray to God that He might grant our answer efficiently. But we've also experiences those times when our prayers go seemingly unanswered. We can respond in a number of ways.

In this episode, Glenda shares the story of her daughter's struggle with an awful medical ordeal as she finished college. Through the setback left her daughter blind, over time the family discovered how God's initial silence turned into an answer more profound than they could have imagined.

I recently spoke with about 700 high school and middle school students at my school's weekly chapel services. I didn't intend to make this part of the podcast, but I have the recording and want to share!

If you've watched the trailer episode, Amy Fankam is the friend I met in the college class I never should have taken. Still, that's a story for another day. In this episode, we talk about many other pivotal moments our journeys.

Amy ended up at Notre Dame in part because of a wall-sit competition. You read that right. She tore her ACL during her freshman year and still scored a goal in the College Cup (think Final Four) before getting it repaired. That's toughness. Now she coaches Hope Christian's Girls Soccer team, which has won four state titles in a row.
