    00:00:19 – 00:05:38

Hello all demon people! Thursday, July 20, 20, 23, too much 20s there, and episode 392 This mic rich! This mic mad, I like that. Sometimes there is so much European eating and sometimes it’s really difficult on tongue. And when you speak more than one language, it’s just not your case because you barely speak English. You will never understand how hard it is to say all these things. Say, July 20, 20, 23, say it. Yeah, I don’t want to. How about 420? Everybody knows 420. You would probably say July 20 times 2020. I don’t know math. Well, you know, macro numbers. So we have another episode and it’s Thursday already. That means tomorrow is Small Friday and there’s a weekend. A lot of people get excited. We slide into those here. It doesn’t matter for me. I’m going seven days a week. I work 28 hours a day. Yeah, that’s your choice though. You should Sabbath. I like working faster. That’s why I put 28 hours a day. I can overwork you easily. And I can even put overtime on it. You transcend time. Yes, that’s what I do. We’re on Richie time. Somebody asked me, when you sleep, go ahead and describe it. Describe it in the mic. I always answer to them. I sleep whenever I want. I take naps during the day, like Einstein used to do. Cat naps? Do you want me to show you? Is that what they call it over in Europe, when you take a little nap? In Mexico, they call it siesta, a little lunch after lunch. I was not allowed to take a nap because I grew up on a farm, so my father would… Oh, there’s no nap time on that. That’s a lot of work. That was slavery there. So let me show you how I am allowed to take a nap. So just describe what I do. I take a nap right now. You want me to do it? I’ll take it on the right side. Okay, so it’s going to be on your left side, so watch. One eye closed. It looked like you were winking at me. No, I just took a nap. You’re going to pass at me? Three second nap, I’m fresh, I’ll be going. That’s crazy. Yeah, if my left side needs a little refreshment, I do this. Yeah, left side closes, three seconds, I’m refreshed again. That’s what I do all day. So you think I’m winking on you? No, I’m taking a nap. Well, you need to be rested up, my friend. I’ll tell you what. We had two people, I’ve been working in the studio, and then two people came in, and they were really interesting, so I just started talking to them. So, bar manager from Alberto’s, that’s on Fifth Avenue. One of the really good Italian restaurants. Yes, that’s what I hear. So much passion in the kitchen, I tell you. You should try them. And her husband came over. So she used to be coming here all the time for breakfast, and so I just love to talk to people, so I talk to them, talk to them, and we have this concept sitting in our head on the paper, and now we’re putting more like a final and finished touches, right? So I never told you this, so why don’t I introduce that concept, because I introduced it to them, and they fell in love with that, right? So, go ahead. Right. We are on the 4th Avenue South, and this is all connected to yesterday’s podcast, which we were telling people how we should help each other, how to keep people happy, make them happy, make moments for them, and just kind of lift them up, right? Speak life into them. So, we are on the 4th Avenue South, one block from Fifth, which I rightfully call Circus Avenue, because all these carnival barkers. Yeah, but it’s also busy, right? It’s a zoo. Yeah, it is. There’s traffic all the time, so, you know, people seeking a little bit more quiet and more pleasant experiences in dining, so they’re coming more and more to us. Now, in the evening, we’re figuring out what to do with the evening, like we wine bar, right? Right. I’ve been watching people for years coming from restaurants, and all of them have the same thing in common. When you work in a restaurant, a lot of them, there’s so much stress. You know, the food is a line in the kitchen. They say, if you don’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. There’s a reason for it, right? Yeah, and it’s hard work, man. They work like nobody’s business, man. That’s why I feel, yeah. This industry is, like, brutal. And this restaurant right here, everybody expecting this a little higher quality. Attention. Yeah. And that comes with stress again. You have to keep smiling and doing your best. So I see them walking home always, you know, around 10, 11, sometime even later, and a lot of times they like to just bury themselves and have a drink before they go to sleep, so all the stress is left somewhere, and they can go home and just fall asleep with help of maybe one or two beers, right? So today, I mean, I’ve actually been talking about it internally here, but today I kind of wanted to see what they say, right? They both work in restaurant, her and her husband in restaurant, Alberto’s, and I said to him, look, what if, they asked me if we are open in evening, I said, what if we turn our place into industry club, right? And let me just introduce to you.

    00:05:38 – 00:10:03

In evenings. Right, after 10 p .m. Yeah. We have music, we have, you know, lights, we have nice seating area outside, so we’re going to create special menu, and the menu is going to be in certain price range, very affordable. For them. Very friendly for them, and we’re going to discount very heavily, you know, drinks. So she asked me, you know, how is this going to work? I said, look, you become to be member, you pay, you know, I’d say $5 a month, the discounted prices and everything, because it’s going to be membership. You come in, you work in restaurant, you work in hospitality industry, you will only meet people from hospitality industry. There will not be tourists, there will not be any other person that doesn’t work in hospitality industry. That means, you know, that you will have something in common. Right. You can talk about, you know, finding another job somewhere, you can see your old friends, you know, showing up, you never knew they are in town. Sure. And the brainstorming went deeper and deeper and says, look, if you get a little bit too much drinks, I’m sure there’s going to be somebody who knows somebody that lives in your neighborhood, they will take you home. But mainly, you know, we will keep it clean, we will keep it like social, and we will make people, at least one industry, happy because they will have a place where they go after work and they will be happy that they kind of, they call it, this is my club. Yeah, absolutely. And they were so excited. And her husband said, look, if you start tomorrow, I myself just bring eight people from our restaurant. Wow, isn’t that great? Yeah. So we, I’m already, you know, working on the plan. We’re going to open this as an industry club, no friends, no girlfriends, no family members, no nobody, only person that registered is going to be here like a country club in the Gulf. Yeah, that’s awesome, I love that idea. You know, we charge five dollars a month, so you feel like a membership is there. Discount beers, glasses of wine. Exactly right. You know how much is beer on Fifth Avenue? Eight dollars. It’s like eight, nine bucks. I mean. Cost must have written 18 dollars. Yeah. You know, why? These people are in the industry, they know how much it costs because they’re dealing with that. Yeah, they know what the overhead is and what’s involved in it. And she asked me, why would you do that? Why would you not invite other people? I said, well, because I want you to have a safe environment. Right. Where you come after work, tired, you just want to be cheered up and go home. And, you know, I want you to have a place where you can just kind of relax, let it go. Right. If there’s a stress, you have something in common. Yeah, get it off the chest, how do you deal with this? Yeah, exactly. And that’s a good thing. Help each other, maybe this is going to improve the service. Right. Because people will exchange information, but mainly, you know, it’s not going to be like, especially the girls, when I see them walking home, they will feel safe here because they will meet only people they know from the restaurant. Right, that’s awesome. Yeah. So that’s the thing I wanted to share with you. What’s your thought about it? I think it’s an awesome idea. It’d be great to just have the, you know, I think you mentioned something about that a while back, you know, some type of thing for people that work in an industry that wasn’t so definitive, not like that type of club thing, but I think it’d be great to give them a break. You know, think about it. If they have a place where they don’t have to drive or whatever, just walk, keep their car parked, come here, you know, they don’t have to drive through McDonald’s or, you know, Taco Bell or something and stop at 7 -Eleven and get, you know, or whatever, they can just come, eat a quick snack, have a quick beer or two, and then just bounce, go home and drop into bed. Because, I mean, think about it. They’re not getting off till 10. Yeah, and they’re supporting a local business. You don’t get any food after 10. You’re done. They close in the kitchen. That’s why they’re coming here. You know what I’m saying? It’s just like a treat for them, you know? So that was the idea. I think it’s a great idea. Well, speaking of that, we also wanted to introduce another menu item. I’m going to go quick because this has to be done. We, I mean, me and Mr. Perfect created this menu, and every menu item has a story, and every story is interesting because you can learn something from it, or you can just sleep. Get a laugh, a chuckle. But it’s not just ordinary menu. Every menu, there’s a reason for the name, there’s a reason, you know, why this happened, and there’s a story. So let me give you, for change, I was doing everyday ciabatta sandwiches, let me give you croissant sandwich. Croissant. Croissant. So let me just go with, let me just go with this one.

    00:10:04 – 00:15:02

The Rosemary Shinkent Mozzarella Cassie Croissant. Whoa. Yeah, I know. Can you say it again? No. Oh, you want to hear it again? I can’t even say it once. Yeah, once again. I’ll do it again. The Rosemary Shinkent Mozzarella Cassie Croissant. I got, I think, rosemary ham. Yeah, that’s okay. It’s Austrian. You know where croissant was invented? In Austria. That’s correct. Right, not France. That’s correct. I already educated you. They always steal things. Yeah, the French people just steal everything, man. Even French fries. They marketed it right, though. You bat can’t them on that. No, they’re like, I can imagine a French guy came and just slashed the throat of somebody who invented French fries and says, that’s mine now. All right, let’s do it. You would be lucky to wake up in the max elevation of 23 feet in the area of 71 quarter square miles of population of 312 K. The area code 095. And coordinates 37 degrees, 37, 0, and N. I cannot even read it. That’s the coordinates. 15 degrees, 5, 25, E. That would be S, E, straight. Here you find Catania, Italy, and its most popular breakfast croissant, Italian rosemary ham, tomato mozzarella cheese, and topped with organic mixed cream. Oh, that sounds good, dude. Drizzle it with olive oil? Did I forget to put that in there? No, but if you want, we can. Doesn’t that sound good if you put a little olive oil on it? Yeah, we can. If you want that, we get it. We are in business to make people happy. I’ll tell you what, everything is organic as much as we can. Croissant is so crispy and fluffy, everybody’s bragging about it on the internet. We have almost 500, over 478, I think it’s right now. Comments on the croissant? Five star reviews. Oh, that’s great. And everybody’s talking about croissants. So there you go, that’s your invitation to our coffee and wine bar, Divine Naples on 851 4th Avenue South. If you cannot come and you’re sitting on the beach while you’re listening this, you may as well go to www .beachesos .com. 75 sandwiches, 20 different organic salads, cold drinks, beer, wine, everything, and we deliver it in no time for free of charge, of delivery charge, to your beach entrance in downtown Naples with our fire truck, mini truck. What do you think? I think that’s awesome with the big red coffee cup on it. Hey, I was going to say, you know, what you were trying to do, you were babbling all those coordinates numbers. What about them? You were babbling. You could have just simply said, hey, it’s this city in Italy. No, that’s how we wrote it. I know. No, I think it’s funny though, because you get, what are these numbers? And then finally after you’re reading all this nonsense, you find out the history of that type of sandwich, a breakfast sandwich from Italy. So just so you know, the most popular breakfast sandwich in Italy is this one. Everybody eats that and one single espresso. And the second one is a dessert, is Nutella. Really? Yeah, because Nutella is from Italy. I did not know that. So do they smear that stuff on another croissant? Of course. On another croissant? Yeah, another croissant. You don’t put it in ham. Yeah. That wouldn’t be my type of mayonnaise. Yeah, actually I would eat that instead of mayonnaise, because I just don’t like mayonnaise. Yeah, well, you can try it. Hey, maybe we should, maybe we’ll try, why don’t we have me try one of those sandwiches one day. We’ll have Kathy make that ham sandwich with the, or the ham croissant. Which one? The one. This one is rosemary, shink, and mozzarella croissant. Right, and we’ll put Nutella on it and see how I like it. I mean, you don’t surprise me. There’s a lot of weird things I’ve seen, so she’s not going to be surprised. We can try anything you want. We’ll do anything for you. Yeah, why not? Let’s do it. National days. Hey, we will. I got one here. It’s National Chess Day. Alright. Do you know where that was, actually where chess was developed? No. What country? No. It was actually developed in India during the 5th century. Really? Yeah, and it was a strategic game. That’s correct. That spread across the continents. Yes. And also shifted between classes, which if you understand anything about India, it’s in a caste system. So usually there are different classes that are separated. They don’t really interact. But this game did. So penetrated it every single class of people. Isn’t that awesome? Yeah, that’s awesome. And there’s also some other fun facts about the game chess. What is it? Would you like to know? Please. It’s a mental game. You’re mental. Well, that’s why I play it all the time.

    00:15:03 – 00:20:08

It’s awesome, isn’t it? It’s a game that can end up quickly in just two moves. Did you know that? No, I did not know that. Yeah, in two moves. The opponent has to be sleeping then. Well, I guess. I’ve been beaten by two moves before. Really? I used to consider myself a semi -decent chess player, but my youngest son would just start creaming me and I’d just stop playing for a while. Did you know that the longest possible chess game in terms of the number of moves, can you guess how many moves you think? No. How many moves? Just take a guess. You always make me guess. Wow. You’re way short. What? 5 ,949 moves are possible. Are you kidding me? How long you play that? I’m not kidding you. I don’t know. Remember in the 70s during the Cold War, the Russian chess players? Oh, yeah. What was their name? I forget the American team. One of them moved to United States and it’s against Russia. It was so incredible. But I think, didn’t they introduce time limits? Wait, they have a clock, yes. So anyway, that’s one of the days I got, National Chess Day. And actually, I think that’d be a good game for you to possibly maybe, you know, if you got kids or whatever, to just spend some time. And it’s a very strategic game. You got to use your mind. I think they should teach kids in the school one of those things and that’s chess game. Everybody should know how to play that. Because it opens up your mind. You know, you plan forward. I think it’s one of those things where you’re thinking plan B because you can kind of see if you make move, you’re thinking he’s going to do that. You’re preparing. I think it’s just really good for logic. And it is a game that requires strategy and planning at least sometimes four or five moves ahead. Yeah. And calculating and all that. I think it’s awesome. It’s a good way to exercise your mind. And it’s actually a good thing to just spend time with somebody. Yeah, but you just cannot. Do you want to spend any more time with me? No. I have plenty of time with you. Well, look it. You have this to look at. Either I could fall into the trap of losing in two moves and you don’t have to spend more than about five minutes. We should play the game and see who’s better. But that doesn’t mean we need to spend time. Just because I’m perfect doesn’t mean I could beat a genius. But can perfect beat the genius? The genius always wins. And I got one other day I’ll share with you. I know you got one, but it’s lollipop day. It’s national. Do you ever have lollipop? I don’t. I mean, when I was a kid, I liked them, right? Haven’t you ever had a dummy? You ever seen those? What’s dummy? It’s a little lollipop. No. It’s a dummy. It’s got dummy written on it. They’re little flavored lollipops. Have you ever had a Tootsie Pop? Yeah. You know what? Speaking of that, I have something interesting for you. Yeah? Do you know how many of them they make a day? No. 16 million. 16 million? Yeah. Do you know how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie roll middle of a Tootsie Pop? I know something about Tootsie, but I don’t know if it has something to do with lollipop. You don’t remember these commercials? That has something with lollipop? They used to have commercials with this owl on there and they’d say, how many licks does it take to get to the middle? I’ve never watched that. And he’d go, one, two, and three, and then crunch it. Oh, that’s it? Yeah. Anyway. Well, let me tell you this. The largest lollipop created by Sea Candies was 7 ,000 pounds. Have you ever had Sea’s Candy? Have you ever been into a Sea’s Candy? Oh my God. I don’t eat candies. I believe it’s from California. It’s just wonderful chocolate. Actually, my ex -wife’s father used to work for Guittard Chocolate in Burlingame, California, which used to make the dark chocolate for Sea’s Candy. I am sure there are many ladies that are out there listening to this podcast that know about Sea’s Candy. You know everything about candies and everything related. Here’s the most, this is what I want to know though, about just with lollipops. And it deals, one of it deals with the Wizard of Oz. Have you ever seen the Wizard of Oz? No. Well, in there. I’m uneducated. There’s a picture of the three lollipop kids. They sing this song and they’re all happy. There’s the lollipop. Yes. Right? Yeah. And then there’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. And you got Oompa Loompas. Oh my God. So I asked one time, I asked one time, I asked somebody I was driving around at work inside on a forklift type thing and I just stopped and you know how goofy I could be. So I just looked at somebody and I said, hey. And they looked at me like, what? And I said, who would win in a street fight, a gang fight, the lollipop kids or the Oompa Loompas? And she just looked at me.

    00:20:08 – 00:25:09

Oompa Loompas. Yeah. Why? Why do you think? Because. She picked the Oompa Loompas. Because they’re from Mexico. No, they’re not. And so I said, she looked at me like I was just retarded and like, she just looked at me like, dude, you are so weird. And she looked at me and she goes, that’s simple. This is the Oompa Loompas. They got poisonous darts. And I just was laughing, but. Oh my God. There you go. You got, you got a movie lesson, the Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, lollipop kids and Oompa Loompas. You are the dictionary of YouTube. I tell you what. It’s not YouTube. Oh yeah. TV. Okay. You know what? The first lollipop was created? No, I don’t. Do you really think about it? Maybe it’s in Germany. It was in ancient times. Oh really? Yeah. It was like a honey sticks. Oh, that makes sense. Yeah. And then first official lollipop that is like in a circle with the red and white, you know, the typical lollipop. Yeah, Tibby had a big thing with, they have a rainbow one now. So it was, yeah, well let me start another one. It was, it was called English Suckers and started in 1600s. 1600s. Was it in Britain? Yeah, in Britain. So that’s the history about lollipop. Let me throw something about fortune cookies. It’s National Day of Fortune Cookies. I love fortune cookies. It’s just, you know, it came. It’s where I get all my lottery numbers. That’s why you’re still poor. Do know you what invented fortune cookie? Probably the Chinese. What country? I probably was in China. I mean, maybe Britain. Japan. Oh really? The first portrayal of fortune cookie is documented in Japanese literature and history in 1878. In 1900 exactly arrived in the United States. And today if you’re dining in a Chinese restaurant and you don’t get fortune cookie, which I know some Chinese restaurants. That don’t have fortune cookies? No. And that just feels like you’re not in a Chinese restaurant. It’s just like one of those things that you’re looking forward to and it’s part of that dining experience. Yeah, and the great thing about that is that you can always joke around. If you have company or you’re family or you’re out on a date, you know, and they used to, you know how they used to bring the tray with the two fortune cookies on there and you put your credit card in and then you could open those things and then just share with one another. That’s great. You know what I mean? And everybody is reading, you know, they’re exchanging. What do you got? It’s just only four ingredients in those. So if somebody thinks, you know, it’s some kind of whatever that is, it’s flour, sugar, vanilla extract and some oils to hold it together. And it’s almost 4 million fortune cookies are created every single day. Every single day. I used to, I love them. I wish I could buy them in bags at the grocery store. Do you know how many different messages, you know, like how many varieties of messages? No. 15 ,000. 15 ,000 a day or there are 15? No, 15 ,000 different versions. So if you eat 15 ,000 Chinese foods, you probably, and every time you get different fortune cookie, then after that you’re just going to get, you’re going to go over again. Can you possibly even go to Chinese food 15 ,000 times in your lifetime? I don’t know. You need to count it. Do the math. I mean, every day is 365, you know, 10 years, that’s 3 ,000. You got 20, 20 years. I mean, you’re looking 12 ,000. You got 20, 30 years, you can probably every day you have Chinese food. You’d have to eat Chinese food every single day. For 30 years. And what’s the mathematical probability of getting a different one? I mean, you’d have to get, do you follow me? They’d have to be separated. I mean, how would you do that? If you’re doing 30 ,000 meals, you make sure you have every day different one. Yeah. Well, I would just say you said 15 ,000 different ones, right? Just put those 15 ,000 in a bag and then just keep eating Chinese food every day and you’ll go through it. 30 years. But the likelihood of you ever getting it. Can you imagine how would you look after 30 years eating Chinese food? I haven’t, you know, come to think of it, you got me going. But now I’m thinking like how many times I’ve eaten Chinese food and eaten cookies. I mean, look at you. I’ve never got the same cookie, fortune cookie. You would never know. But looking at you, you probably in 10 ,000 meals already. You know, life to fame. Yeah. Well. Prove me wrong. I probably had, I don’t think I’ve had Chinese food 10 ,000 times. You don’t think so? Nah. Well, I tell you what, there’s a very interesting day, national day, and that is national moon day. Oh. And, you know, I just want to mention what is most interesting thing about the moon landing is then when they landed and they were taking off, somebody was taking pictures from the moon.

    00:25:11 – 00:30:01

Yeah. That makes you think. Yeah. So that means they left somebody behind. Oh, maybe. Or maybe he was just outside on his own. Do you think so? Yeah. Well, let’s just. And then they put a rope around his boot. Yeah, and just pulled it. Pulled him back in. Yeah, come on. Now we can go. Oh my God. There’s a lot of things going on in Apos and what’s going on, divine people, it should be the introductory and of the Hook Comedy Club. We love that place and it’s on 2500 Wonderably Beach Road and usually tickets are around $30. There’s a comedian actor that you should be seeing, Matt. Who? Yeah. That’s your favorite actor. His name is Harlan Williams. He’s from Canada. Oh, really? Yeah. And he played in your favorite movie, Dumb and Dumber. Oh, that guy is pretty funny. Yeah, I’m sure he would teach you a line or two. Oh yeah. So that show starts on Friday 21st and 6 .30 to 8 .30 and also on Saturday 22nd. So just hit them up. It’s definitely going to be worth it. I’m sure you’re going to feel the pain in your stomach. I want to remind people that travel here and like to have five star service with white gloves. Ritz -Carlton and Apos reopened after a multi -million dollar transformation after the one on the beach and I tell you what, every year they shut down for some reason and they find the money to fix or improve something. I have to go and check it out myself, but finally they opened. So that’s going on. And additional to that, there’s a couple of new restaurants I want to mention because we’ve been talking about it the other day. There’s a new soul food star at the Bonita Springs Asian fusion spot. That’s one thing. There’s a Hawaiian restaurant opened in Pine Ridge and Livingston that people should definitely visit. There’s a cheesecake factory in Astora opening next month. There’s a lot of new restaurants which I’m really happy. There’s a new bakery restaurant in Marco and we will look into it because we need to keep people informed. There’s a lot of new cuisines coming in. It’s always changing so we want to keep you abreast of it and let you know. Just make sure you can. That’s what divinenapoles .com is all about, letting you know what’s going on. That’s exactly right. Just let you know what you can visit, experience and get in this town. 00:00:10 – 00:08:55

And Wednesday is here, hello all divine people from Studio of Divine Aprils podcast, we are here with another episode, this time it’s 3 .91 in July 19, 2023, my belly is absolutely hurting from just a pre -recording session, we were reading stuff and I have to kind of share that with you, and discussing with the one and only Matt on the other mic, I didn’t even say Rich from this mic, oh yeah I know, it’s alright we can change it up every once in a while, why don’t you go ahead and do it, Rich from this mic, Matt from this mic, ok now he’s official, Mr. Perfect, I’m Mr. Genius, there you go, yeah now he’s official, what a wonderful combination, yeah there’s a couple, oh my god, couple of stooges, we need a third one, I tell you what, the words made over here, the Mr. Perfect is getting better and better in his work, it’s just unbelievable what he’s coming with, and every single time he does, he makes me completely into stitches, laughing my belly off and just now I had belly cramps, did you ever have belly cramps from reading stuff? Oh man, sometimes even just, I have a friend that lives out in California, he has a vineyard of about 140 acres and I’ve sat out there, it’s just a beautiful property on the Stanislaus River, and a few times in our life we sat back there and just had gut wrenching laughs that just, man it’s so healing, it’s like medicine, I mean it was just so good, and you laughed so hard and released that your gut hurt, yeah and you know what, you’ve always been like that, and I’m so grateful for you being that person that always brings people to smile not to the tears, and I wish we both of us have that effect on people listening to this podcast, and if that’s the case, please send us an email, let us know, we would like to know if we brought a smile on your dial as I say, yeah I like that, and change your day from maybe something negative, which I’d like to touch a little bit on today, yeah please do, and something in the positive, because that’s why we do this, we want to share the happiness that you know we are here, we are alive, we are in this absolutely divine city, happiest city, and we want to just surround ourselves with divine people, that’s right, and that is a really strong meaning when you say divine people, if you look in the I appreciate all of them, I appreciate the quality that how he looks like when he’s leaving from here in the car, you know just he’s looking and as a driver that just gives you exactly the meaning, get away because I’m going through, one of those people, you know some people just in the car they look like they don’t even know where they’re at, and you are the one, just clearly with the look and the way how you drive, tell people by their behavior, just tell them I know where I’m at, but you’re in my way, you should not be here, you know what I almost think like you’re feeling, I mean not feeling, I mean like telling me to, maybe I should learn from that, yeah, I want to be a learner, no no there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s not wrong, yeah, but maybe I should just slow down a little bit, no, no, I won’t, you’re right, I mean change perfect, did I ever tell you about this, we just need to tell the women that you’re Mr. Perfect, oh yeah right, so you don’t have to say I’m single, well all they have to do is read the book I wrote, the five most humble men and how I trained them, oh really, oh my gosh, but if you see me driving, I have pretty much the rule, and rule is very simple, fast, I have only one car that can be in front of me, you, that is a police car, I mean I gotta tell you, you’d give Mario Andretti some a challenge, I think his butt would be sweating, but if I was in his driving school, yeah, the only reason, the only thing is, is that he’d be in your rear view mirror and probably upset, one time in my previous business I had very nice customers, and one of them was very generous, and every time we did like a project for him, he always like, hey you need to relax, and he was like asking questions during the you know times we’ve been doing stuff for him, and so figured out what he can do as a gift, and one time in Sebring, there’s Andretti driving school, so you go there and they put you in this, I think it’s like Formula, probably like 2000 or something, crazy, and doesn’t have like, if you wanna switch the gears, you feel like there’s no clutch, you have to like, couple laps, you really need to learn how to drive, so driving, and I had somebody in the lead car, which was just a regular Mazda something, you know, four door car, and those drivers which race, they lead, and they show you how to get in the curves, and how to you know cut the corners and stuff, so you just go behind them, that’s why I call it lead car, you know, and then they flash the blinkers, so the drivers behind them, which are students like us, you know, they switch around positions, they are in a straight line, and my point was like getting behind the leader car, I was pushing them so hard they couldn’t go any further, so he started braking, and then I got an earful, like what do you do, because you know, what do you think, this little Mazda four door is same performance like yours, I mean I’ve been pushing the bumper, I can’t imagine being one of those, how exciting though, there’s a reason why I don’t drive some of the cars that we have here, yeah, like the BMW X4 M competition, oh my gosh, 504 horsepower, I’ve just driven around the block with you before, I have, it’s quite a treat, yeah, wow, if I was in one of those with you, I, yeah, I might just not get in it, I don’t, I don’t drive it anymore, yeah, one time you know, it’s because you’re driving like a rocket ship, in the middle of the night, you know, Naples is empty, there’s nobody around, right, and you just, except those police you want to be in front of, they are around, I tell you, I know, so they’re around, and I have to admit, one time there was probably one of the last times that I drove the car in the night, I had this genius idea, you know, cars, it’s because you’re a genius, yeah, car is parked in front of our office, and it’s been there for like two days, right, and I was like, maybe I should repark that, you know, put it in the shade or somewhere, and because I ride scooter, I love scooter, because I’m happy with that, yeah, and so I was like, okay, let me, let me take the car and just repark it, so once I start the car, and I was like, okay, but since I’m really sitting in it, you know, I’m not gonna just go 20 feet and just shut it down, so I hit up the engine, and go around the block, you know, and then I stepped on it, and the 500 horsepower, oh my god, not just you hear that, but it takes you in the seat, you know, I’m sure, so I go through a couple streets, a couple streets, and immediately I had a DJ behind me, oh the lights were going, it’s music, yeah, siren music, that’s why we say it in Europe, DJ, you know, the color for lights, yeah, and the music, yeah, um, yeah, I, I, I, how’d you get out of that one, I cannot tell the secrets, but I tell you what, I learned my lesson, and after that, I just, I just looked at it, it’s nice car, yeah, I like my scooter, yeah, you stay on that scooter, yeah, and especially because you seem to attract expensive tickets, yeah, like beach tickets, yeah, for some reason, I’m just popular, yeah, you are, so that’s like, yeah, let me just go back to the thing I wanted to share with people, because that just has to be shared, if you didn’t see the yesterday show, and you didn’t read the description, let me just read it for you, just make it more easy, and hopefully that will give you the kind of idea, who is talking to your ears right now, who is, you know, making your muscles move, and I think, in your face, yeah, on your face, and we’ll kind of describe who truly we are, okay, like Mr.

    00:08:55 – 00:15:44

Perfect and Genius, right, so yesterday show 390, right, title, Matt finally came to his senses, and finally realized Rich is a smart guy, sort of, and now a little bit of more details, one of these two always make a statement, just by walking into the room, and after he speaks, people remember him forever, it has been said, his voice has potential to trigger earthquakes, when he starts laughing, the other guy has an answer for everything, true, even if you don’t ask him, he knows why we have two ears and one mouth, so we can listen more, Matt needs help in the listening department, they are simply a special couple, some say a match made in heaven, but they are not getting married anytime soon, Mr. Perfect and the Genius, if you listen, you will know who he is, who, he will, you can find that out, this is just amazing, I wonder if I’ve, hopefully I’m not creating any earthquakes right now, you have that capabilities, oh my god, you can hear me from one end to the other on fifth, yeah, so there you go, this is the description of two of us, I’m gonna skip the sandwich today, the reading of the sandwiches, because I just had to share this, we got plenty of time, I like that, by the way, we share stories of the sandwiches that we created and writing, and if you’re interested to hear our menu, one by one item, every single episode we just put it up there, so just go ahead and read or listen, and we will tell you what we create here, as a most organic food that we can put together, delicious, a nice experience, best coffee, Divine Naples coffee and wine bar, that’s where we’re located, and then also a beach delivery, look for the red fire truck with the coffee cup on it, that’s correct, that would be Beach SOS, right, right, let me tell you what happened today, without, hey, yeah, why don’t you tell us what happened today, so I spent a lot of time in the studio working, and today I’ve been working here, and somebody, you know, they always come for coffee, and they like, where is he, and you know, just like, it’s a, in polite way, I always try to say hi to everybody, sure you do, you know, I just limited time, but today was like, just very special, I just felt like I have to, some, someone, I have to teach the lesson, there’s a guy that we know, both of us, and I tell you after the show, that came after, you know, what do you say, out of the blue, he showed up, yeah, out of the blue, out of the blue, you got a blue shirt on today, nice, yeah, thank you, you know, some people are just like Santa Claus, they just show up once a year, and they, you know, they think you get excited, right, so just the way how we walk in the room, just the way how he greet us, just the way how he ask questions, so much negativity, just 30 seconds right in, he pushed that wrong button, you know I have a lot of buttons on me, right, yeah, you don’t want to push that one, just push that wrong button, and he’s got such an earful, and he couldn’t even wait to, to finish the coffee so quickly, I just kind of told him what he needed to hear, and I think, I hope, I, you know, I woke him up by saying look, you come here, and you really don’t have nothing positive to say, and I, you know, I’m not positioned that, first of all, I don’t want to, because there’s so many things that you have to deal during the day, if you want to help somebody, just bring something positive, smile on them, right, say hey, I wish I can help you, can I do something for you, you know, just the things like that, so I went into, you know, I don’t use that word before, yeah, for the, in the end, end of your body, right, and that opening, yeah, the orifice, yeah, you want to describe it, that’s perfect, you’re the wordsmith, so, so everybody has one, so I don’t want to turn in that thing, we have a couple actually, but I turned into that thing, because he pushed that button, right, to me being that thing, but I had to just wake him up, you know, just so many people, and I was thinking about after he left, and I just want to say, I know it’s hard to stay positive in, you know, today’s environment, like today right now is raining outside, I’m happy for it, because it’s just kind of chill us down, and cool us down, clean his ear a little bit, gives a little bath, you know, try to find positive on everything, there’s a reason why things are happening, there’s a reason why you’re meeting certain people, there’s a reason why we have things that we have in our lives, and if you stay in that stage, nothing will change, just, you know, if you need help and smile or something, just find the people that are positive, if you bring the negativity between negative people, then you’re just going to stay in negative, and what I want to say is, if you see people in the stage that they are, you know, always negative, and always trying to, you know, complain and sing, bring in a bad vibe, just, just try to help them, you know, I think they are for the reason like that, maybe, you know, maybe crying out for something, that’s great, whatever, so just don’t get upset as upset, but sometimes you just have to give them like a shock treatment, you know, just have to, hey, slap in the face, not physically, but yeah, just kind of eat, well sometimes maybe physically, yeah, it’s better, yeah, that’s a joke, yeah, but violence doesn’t solve anything, yeah, but I just told him, look, dude, I know you for four years, and for some reason, I never seen you happy, yeah, and I just gave him my opinion, well, I think I know who it is, yeah, and I’m seriously making things, yeah, and, and I’m glad you did, but you know, I want to give you an example, I’m so glad you brought this up today, I was in a Jersey Mike’s, Mike, Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop today, and they were just opening, and it was a young Haitian guy, and he was just awesome, and he was just so cordial and nice, right, or whatever, and so it took me a little more time, they had just opened, so I was like sitting in there for seven to ten minutes, right, but at the end of the time, I could choose to have been negative or whatever, and I didn’t really have anywhere to go, right, but I just told them that I just saw as he was preparing everything and getting everything ready just for the day, I said, hey, I just want to encourage you, dude, you got a, you got a good work ethic, and if you keep at that, you’re really going to go places, and his whole face lit up, and he just, I walked out, and he goes, just thank you for that, so we just don’t know what kind of impact that we could have on somebody by just being kind, remember what you said, we weren’t such a charming city in some show the other day, you were talking about that or whatever, and I think we can just put a little bit of charm in, in somebody’s life, those that are in close proximity to us.

    00:15:45 – 00:16:03

Let’s just start with who our neighbors are, and our family, and go from there, and just see this thing mushroom, and watch our community transform, businesses grow, everybody going up on the social ladder, we’re all into this, we’re all in the boat together, and I’m so glad you brought that up today.

    00:16:03 – 00:20:00

Can I get a hug and kiss now? Well, I mean, you just got done reading the explanation that we don’t want to give our listeners the wrong impression that we’re actually secretly getting married. Yeah, that’s right, that’s right. Leave something secret. Yeah, I think that’s very important, you know, people, I understand, and we’re going through it as well, life is not easy, especially when you’re in a town where it’s very seasonal, you know, there’s less people, less traffic, less income, hurricanes, and even now I see that restaurants don’t have that many people because it’s summer, and European people didn’t yesterday here, you know, the servers go home early, like six, seven o ‘clock, so they get ready all day for their job, right, they prepare themselves, and the girls make makeup, and you know, make sure they look beautiful, presentable, they feel good about themselves, I get it, they show up at the work, and then two hours later, they’re just standing around two hours later to manage themselves, and hey, I don’t need you today, you know, I see them leaving around downtown and going home, and just feel bad for them, you know, and it’s just like if this happened two weeks, three weeks, and you see your numbers are down, it can definitely depress you, so what I want to say is if you see people around like that, just cheer them up, help them out, you know, we need to go through it, and we will, it’s never going to be worse than Fauci virus, I can guarantee that. We can make it if we all come together as a community is only as strong as its people, and let’s just see things turn around, and just have a positive outlook on things. It doesn’t mean that every, you know, everything’s going to be a bowl of cherries, and everything’s perfect, you’re going to have trials and tribulations, but hey, when you got a good community, friends, and family, they can help you get through anything, just like you experienced, you know, what happened in getting this coffee shop, the spa, and the other unit you have put together. Well, since you’re so nice to me, I’m going to treat you with freshly baked croissants, so please, why you don’t describe like what we’re doing in our coffee and wine bar? Well, let me tell you, actually what we are doing is we’re serving great food, but one of the the treats here is the European croissants that can be made with sandwiches or dessert, and this thing looks delicious. Yeah, I mean, freshly baked, smell it, smell it. Yeah, I smell it. Oh, and you know how I like to do these, though, really, actually? They’re already made with immense amount of butter, but I like to put more butter on it. No, just try it, try it out. It’s freshly baked, you know, and it just melts in your mouth, tell me. All right, it does. Doesn’t it? Yeah. That’s what we have, you know it, you just don’t have them enough, because you are in and out. We see you just, you know, you run so fast. In and out. We need to just treat you a little better. In and out. Here’s cookie, chocolate cookie. I’ll eat a cookie, but you have to admit I’ve done a good job of keeping myself in shape, so. Yes, so why I don’t give you this, what is this, lemon butter button way for cookie. Oh, I love those. That way I know you’re gonna keep your pie hole shut. Hey, I got a couple of days I want to share with you real quick. Hold on just a second. Okay. Tell us, what do you think? Should we invite people for this? Well, for these? Absolutely. Yeah. Come to the coffee shop. We’re gonna do some specials, and you know what we start doing, preparing, and we’re gonna need your help over the weekend, preparing for brunch. We’re gonna do unlimited brunch menu. Wow. So it’s gonna be menu of our favorite things, and you’ll pay a certain price, which will be very usable, and as many as you can eat. That’s really awesome. Yeah, but have you heard anything like that these days? No, I think I’ll be here. Yeah, and we also thinking dinner for two. I want to know what you think about it. I like that idea. Dinner for two in downtown Naples, right? It’s gonna be one salad, we do big salad. Yeah, yeah. You can share them in the dinner.

    00:20:01 – 00:25:22

One flatbread, two desserts. Yeah. Okay, follow me. I love cake. One organic salad of your choice for the menu. We have like 10 or 12 different ones. Right. Then flatbread. Yep. So that’s second meal. Then two desserts, appetizer, and bottle of wine for $49. That’s amazing. That’s really nice. Do you think we can, you know, make some of the local people happy? I think we should make people happy with that. That’s very nice. Don’t you think? Where can you go for 50 bucks like that? Bottle of wine. That’s it, right? You’re good. Now I took your breath away. You’re already thinking you’re hungry now. Tell us. I’m already in, I’m already dreaming about my salad. No, I think you’re dreaming about the, what did you say? What days do you have? Oh, well, I have a couple of days. One I want to say is it’s National Daiquiri Day, so I just want to encourage people. We have a lot of nice places around here that have happy hours and can serve you all kinds of daiquiris. Strawberry daiquiris, you know, all kinds. And daiquiris. peach Daiquiri is a very famous drink. I know, but you know what? When somebody told me the first time, I thought the daiquiri is blanket. It just sounded like it. Is that what it sounds like in Europe? Yeah. I’m going to cover me in a daiquiri. No, it just sounded like some type of blanket. I don’t know. That’s just how it sounded to me. But technically, if you get plenty of them, you’re going to need one. Maybe that’s it. Yeah, you might be in the doghouse, too. But I have the most awesome National Day today. Give it to me. National Hot Dog Day. Oh, really? Oh my gosh. Okay, stop right here. Especially in the month of July. Well, hold on just a second. Hot dogs, apple pie. I am, again, outsider, right? Right. I have a lot of questions regards to the English language. Right. I think one time we were debating why somebody’s invented the pea name nut and asked people to eat it. Like a pea nut. Not pea, right? And you eat it. That’s a question. That’s why I don’t eat them. I know where you’re going with this. I know why I don’t eat them. So why eat a hot dog? Yeah. So if you translate, you have to understand a lot of people come here from Europe like a translator. Like a little book, now it’s in a phone. But before, I had this little book, and I had to find out every word I mean. When I didn’t speak any English, today I’m making a podcast video. You know what I’m saying? So if I went to the dictionary and it says hot, then I know it’s going to be spicy, right? Or just hot. But duck. So I’m thinking why the dog is hot? I don’t know. You see that? Yeah. I don’t know. How do you explain? Who came with that name? I don’t know. We need to look that. I have some statistics today. I’m choking on my croissant. But I have statistics that I’m going to give you today, but not that particular one. Would you like to hear one? Yeah, please. Over 25 million hot dogs are sold at baseball stadiums every year. Really? Did you hear that number? 25 million. Okay. Yeah. And then I have one more that I’d like to share with you. It’s not really a statistic. It’s a little bit of history. But on May 31st, 2002, a world record was set for the most expensive hot dog. How much was it? Let me ask you, what state do you think it was in? What state do you think this hot dog was made in? New York? No, California. And it was the California Capital City Dog. It’s a place that’s famous in California, in Sacramento. Really? Yeah. It’s been on the food network. Do you know how much that thing cost? 30 bucks? $145 .49. Why somebody would pay that much for a hot dog? Listen to this. It’s grilled, 18 -inch, all -beef natural casing frank from Chicago. So another thing about hot dogs is everybody argues about where the best hot dog is. Chicago, New York. Yeah. I actually like one that’s in the San Francisco Bay Area called Casper’s. I’ll tell you what. And you can find those in, I believe, Costco. And I would recommend somebody try them. They’re delicious. Yeah. Well, a lot of times people fighting what’s better pizza, you know, New York, Chicago, this pizza, that pizza. I can tell you, I know where the best pizza is. Right here? Best pizza is in my belly when I’m hungry. You just finished it. Yeah. Right? It’s always the one you’re eating that’s the best. That’s correct. I mean, do you want to know what’s on this before we get on? Yeah, go ahead. Okay. It’s served with a fresh baked herb and oil focaccia roll spread with white truffle butter then grilled, topped with whole grain mustard from France, garlic and herb mustard, sauteed chopped shallots, organic mixed baby greens, maple syrup, marinated fruit, smoked uncured bacon from sweetened dried cranberries, chopped tomatoes, expensive moose cheese from Sweden, basil, olive oil, pear, cranberry, coconut, balsamic vinaigrette and ground peppercorn and proceeds from the sales of each three pound super dog are donated to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

    00:25:22 – 00:30:01

The only thing what is missing, two things. I’m going to Sacramento to get one of them. Two things are missing. Pineapple and Mercedes emblem. Oh yeah. I would go chili. I like, I like a good chili dog, but there you have it. That’s our two days today. That is long list. Yeah. You’re exhausted just by reading it. I am. Yeah. I’m going to sip my coffee. Can you describe what I’m going to do right now? I can’t. What are you going to do? You’re going to lick something. Stick your tongue out at something. Stick out your tongue day. Oh my gosh. I’m going to, you know, when you tell me how I drive off, I’m going to roll my window down. Did you know I just exercise 43 muscles doing that? Did you really? Yeah. That’s what you have to do that. Right. And that’s the historic day. Stick out your tongue. They celebrated annually every July 19 from now on. I’m just going to go outside and stick tongue on everybody every day. I’m going to go, but right now I’m going to do, you know, how you drive. I’m going to just drive down the street. The rest of the day, sticking my tongue out at people. You’re going to be like a dog out of the window. So my life is very, very colorful. Somehow more in the dramatic side. There’s a lot of things that I had to deal with, but I have such a good memories always working with good people and we never had like a, you know, like major fights or anything. We always like people who are good friends and creating these moments you never forget. So one of my, one of them in the corporation that I work in was, was a guy and he, every time he opened his mouth, you have to laugh. Everybody laugh. So one time I come to work and he was there in the office and you could see through because the office had like big window and I was in a meeting room. So he just, um, put his hands next to his cheeks. Almost looks like this. Can you describe it? Oh yeah. Yeah. Your hands up and cuffed up against your, your mouth and like some kind of bullhorn or something. And then he stuck his tongue out and did this from side to side. It almost looked like a snake, you know, so I’m looking at him like a commoded dragon. Yeah. I’m looking at him and, and just, just like shook my head. This is like a little bit, you know, too much, you know, so I keep working. I look back and he did that again. And, uh, and I said, I came back. I said, what’s wrong with you today? He says, I’m just saying hi, like a lizard. Oh my God. That was back in the nineties. Oh my God. If you do that today on somebody, I think you’ll get arrested or slapped in the face. So that’s how the world is changing. You know, it is changing rapidly every day. Let me just give you some statistics. Okay. So, um, stick out tongue your day activities should be stick out tongue, uh, just outside and exercise it or visit the doctor so they can help you. Uh, we can attempt a difficult pressure time. Yeah, exactly. But one of them, uh, the, you know, a couple of interesting things, not one of them. Um, the, like the tongue is a very flexible muscle, right? It is 2000 to 4 ,000 taste buds. Wow. It’s health indicator. So I can tell you why the colors and look, what’s wrong with you. Let me see your tank. No, don’t do that ever again. Unique print. tongue So it’s almost like a, like a dump print or a fingerprint. So if you’re leaking something and you leave it behind, not just DNA, just be careful. You get in jail. And, uh, we have a, I just want to say we have a drink, right? And the drink is, uh, it’s called Expressino and, uh, it is a Nutella coated, uh, cup, uh, with, uh, you know, espresso and milk and all this. And, um, when, uh, I have the chance and I talk to people and they ask me, what’s the best drink for ladies. I told them the Gene Simmons, you know, because, uh, Gene Simmons, it’s inspired by Gene Simmons. What do you mean? Foot long tongue. Yeah. When I, when I bring it to them and, uh, they, they, they look at it and I look at them and just go ahead, just do it. There is a Gene Simmons, you know, that’s the only way you as part of the group kiss. All right. Let me bring some events. Uh, one of them I do want to see, um, it’s kind of sad.

    00:30:01 – 00:34:00

Um, I have to say that, but, um, uh, let me just put it this way. In July 10th, one of my longtime friend, uh, his name is Carl Osborn and, uh, the owner of the Black Eyed Pig. We’ve been there for lunch. If you remember, are they closing and also the owner of the Franklin social club, which is located at 59 26, uh, Pine Ridge road, or premier ways on Pine Ridge road. And, uh, Frank Goodlett, they have a event and that is a gypsy blues in the Franklin social club. And, um, unfortunately Carl is not going to be there anymore because, uh, he passed away on July 10th. Did he really, one of the people that been in that community very, very long time, one of the most passionate person about barbecue. I remember that interview and I was interviewed with him and, and, uh, I’m going to post it just in his honor. We’re going to miss him. It’s a sad news. Uh, it just went really subtle. That’s supposed to be some of the best barbecue in all of Naples and Southwest. If you guys care about our community and you want to pay tribute, please visit the, one of his businesses. It’s a black eye pig. I think it’s in Taylor road. And, um, it’s just absolutely amazing barbecue. And he treated every employee treated like a family member. And the people have been working for, for him so long and they all love him. And I tell you what, he started in the garage, in the storage and he built really nice two businesses with catering and he built from scratch this, uh, Franklin social club and just opened maybe like a year and a half ago. Wow. Unfortunately I was not even there for an opening. I couldn’t come, but, uh, it’s just nice in a nice community. So please remember him when you come and what do we do always want to miss somebody for a long time. We just take one drink on, on, on the way. So that’s one thing I want to say, and it’s, uh, uh, it’s hard to, to say it, but, um, just wanted to share with you and with dad, I just gonna, uh, wrap it up because, uh, you know, I think it’s, it’s nice that we remember people if they are not here. So they, they know if they can hear it, they can feel, they sit around, they don’t know maybe solely somewhere or energy, his energy is around. So just, uh, you know, don’t forget that. Remember somebody if you need to, uh, that you miss and, uh, you know, that’s stick tongue on them. Yeah. And they left early. That’s a good ending. If you miss somebody, they left early. Uh, just stick tongue on them. Today’s so I’m sticking tongue on Carl because he didn’t say goodbye. Yeah. You know, well, God rest his soul. And with that, we’re going to bring our pharmacists to, you know, get our spirit a little bit more. Yeah. Why not? Because I am in house pharmacist, uh, obviously. And what do I prescribe? I prescribe vitamin D. And what do I mean by vitamin D? We want to want you to tell somebody about divine Naples .com to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram. Hey, you know that you’re listening to this podcast today. And so if you’re listening to this podcast today, you’re probably listening the other day and we keep asking you tell somebody about divine Naples .com. We want to build this, uh, podcast and change the community. So what am I asking you to do? Let me say it again. Tell somebody about divine Naples .com and to subscribe and listen to this podcast. And that is episode three 91. Wrap it up from this mic, rich. And from this mic, man, thank you for listening. We love you.

    00:00:21 – 00:05:09

Hello all divine people, Tuesday, July 18th, 2003, episode 390, Rich from This Mic and Matt from This Mic. I’m popping the coffee, it’s perfect on Tuesday and it’s just another beautiful day here in Naples Florida and here from our studio, we don’t have windows so we don’t know how nice it is, but we started today with a little light rain for change. Early in the morning. Yeah, I like that. I do too. It cools down everything. It does, it was kind of a little bit cooler today when I was driving around. I like to drive with my windows down even when it’s hot, but this morning was nice. I know, why? Why? Because the air conditioning don’t work. I got to get some Freon in there. We did that. Yeah, but actually I don’t. It’s weird. I kind of dig this, I kind of dig the humidity, it’s weird. You like it. Yeah, you sweat. Get my sweat on. There’s nothing wrong with that, you know? It’s just… Good for your pores. Yeah, it’s like sitting in the sauna every day. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t like to do it all day, because the minute I get into some air conditioning, I’m thankful. I’m sure. Everybody here is thankful for this big invention now. You know, at nighttime though, it’s so interesting being so close to the ocean that it cools itself down. There’s a natural cooling system, so… I don’t know where the cool weather’s coming from, because water is warmer than air now. I know it’s like boiling in. I never understood that. You know me, I’m not a big beach guy, but when I go there, the most I do is up to my knees, right? But it’s always so warm, it doesn’t seem very refreshing to me, but that’s just me. Is there a reason why you go as far as the knees? Uh, yeah, because I’m wearing shorts. You don’t know how to swim? I know how to swim very well. But probably when you take the shirt off, even the fish would escape. Well, yeah, you know, the brightness, it’s brighter than the sun. Last time you did that, nobody can catch a fish three miles around. Yeah. That’s what happens. They get scared. Yeah, they get scared of seeing the… Look at that. Look at this guy. I didn’t know whales were in these waters. I’m kidding. Run, run. Look, isn’t it nice when you can just laugh and joke about yourself? I think what we need in the community today is just a little more humor and happiness, just like you mentioned yesterday, just how we should be, you know, just nice to people in general. You know, I just, we are like that, we’re built that way, you know, it’s people from my office here, they always say, I cannot even believe how you play it together. We never like prepare for a podcast, you sit down and you just talk and you throw stuff on each other and you just take it so well, you know, it’s just like, that’s us, we are built for this. I think just… And not everybody’s built for it. But I mean, it may be if some of us that have those giftings or whatever, we just go out and spread the love, you know, and just, I just think everybody can be nice to people. I mean, I think it’s also the law of reciprocity, when you do that to others, it’s going to come back to you. So just go out and try to be nice to somebody today, that’s helping build community. I love what you’re saying, you know, it’s just, every time we can somehow with our voices, motivate or tell people that they may have secret weapons in their bodies, by smiling on somebody or sharing some information or just being nice, it’s, if we trigger that, I’m really grateful for that. Maybe sometimes it doesn’t even have to be words, I mean, you know that I’m not sure the words, but it could just be the way you look at somebody or just affirming with a nod of the head or something, you don’t even have to have words exchanged. You know, I tell you, one time I was walking from Twin City, I wanted to go to Naples Princess and you have to go over the bridge and that bridge is kind of, you know, cars in three lanes, they go really fast and the bridge is narrow for like two people when they walk side by side, they’re basically rubbing on each side on a concrete wall, which is protecting the pedestrians. And one time we were walking, you know, a group of people and a guy on a bicycle was just literally going fast and he started being upset, right, it’s just like why we are in his way. First of all, it’s called sidewalk. Right, not ride walk, bike walk. So in the English language, those are wonderful things that they name things the way how they expect people to behave on them or with them or take them or whatever, it’s a sidewalk. So he started being upset, he had to literally stop for us to uniform one line and he started mumbling something and a friend of mine just looked at him with a smile and says, stop it.

    00:05:10 – 00:10:04

I love it, oh stop it. That was so awesome. But let me share something with you. What just happened something here in the studio, people need to know how deep we go in the, it’s not even offensive, I take it like a compliment and I’m just going to say one of the words, which, you know, I don’t know if it’s rated or not, but they’re just going to say it. Matt was just practicing in the microphone, we always test before we record and he just looked at me and says, how such a smart guy can look so stupid? I always have to say he was looking at me and my response, I look at him and I go, yeah and I like it. Yeah because you’re smart, you can just be incognito and be behind the scenes, they just look at you and go, that guy can’t possibly know anything. You know how many people I avoid probably because they look like that, because they go, ah, Lady Maloney is stupid, and it’s not true, we’re just joking around and we’re going to do that. Something is on it, you know, like a lot of people judge by clothing, by accent, by things and they are the losers because they never know, me, they can have conversation and enrich themselves by something, somebody can share something with you just because they have it and you don’t know they have the information. There’s a guy in downtown, I don’t want to make fun of him but I just want to describe him if you ever see him, he walks a little funny, like a duck, you know, he’s just like from side to side in the evening and he likes to have his exercise or something because he walks all the times in circles. Like a duck! Yeah, I hope he doesn’t shank me, I hope he doesn’t shank me. But one time I had a conversation with him, he’s so smart and then later on, like maybe six months later, I met somebody who is like a really wealthy person and he goes like, oh, I have this invention, I have to have it patented and all this, we start talking about it and I go, what it is? And he says, it’s a software and it does this and that, you know, just give me some idea. I said, oh yeah, who’s coming with these ideas? Oh, that’s the guy, he’s in town and he walks like a duck. See you never know and I’m glad you said that because we put labels and things on people or whatever and I just wanted to say, you know, this is my own world view, I think everybody was wonderfully and beautifully made and created by God. And so we put all these labels on, hey, what’s good looking or this or that, you know what? And don’t get me wrong or whatever in society, but I’m more interested in exactly what you just said. I don’t want to read somebody and how they look or their exterior or whatever, I want to know what’s inside of them. Well, here you have this type of thing that when you walk somewhere, people cannot avoid you, one thing, right? Because the voice and your presence, and your presence, you make sure people know you’re walking in. That’s one thing. Take over environment. And even like, you know, I know you what, six, seven years? More than that. And I’ve been watching you around and you know, I’ve been telling you about podcasts for years before you ever started and you were kind of hesitant until one day, five years ago. And you know, you just have these things that if you come to the room, there’s no way people will forget you. You know, just the thing that you leave something there, like a piece of you, laugh, smile, information, whatever that is. And I wish everybody be like that because, you know, we are just like 8 billion people, they trying to get rid of us. I mean, why we don’t just like enrich ourselves, help ourselves, help each other, be more passionate and be more loving, be more like a community. I mean, this is the thing. There’s a reason why they dividing us. And I just hate it and I hate it from day one. If somebody asked me, where are you from? In many a fact, let me speak at that subject right now. Three days ago, right? That was the first person that I told him where I’m from because he asked me the right way. In a proper way. That’s exactly right. Because, you know, you just know he has mannered. He had already a genuine concern and wanting to know or, you know, curiosity. Take me in consideration as a human being and if I have an accent, he doesn’t make me feel like an outsider or make me feel like, hey, you know, 26 years here, yes, I have an accent because you know why, right? I told you. Yeah, I know why. Why? Well, because you just do. You’re from another place. No, no, no, no. That has something to do with that comment you gave me before, looking stupid. Because, yeah, he got hit over the head. You have the same problem because, you know, because when guy is aging, right, he gets older and the gut drops to your knees, the lazy, the ladies start less being less interested.

    00:10:04 – 00:15:02

Yeah, sure. And there’s only three. I studied that. Well, I took me months. Yes. Wow. Yeah, I studied it. It takes only three things to how we can create the interest back, right? So if he has a single guy, right, and this is what I suggest to you too, because we know you’re single, maybe this will increase the chance, if you have a baby and you stroll with a baby on Fifth Avenue here in downtown, immediately find a lot of ladies talking to you, right? Yeah, because they love the babies. If you cannot find a baby or you cannot fake one, then you have a dog, a little puppy. I wish they would be like, this is not a business I just introduced. Just get a bunch of puppies and rent them to a single guy. That or get fake babies, you can get a stroller. And ladies see you with a puppy, then immediately they’re interested. And if you don’t want to pick up a dog poop or change diapers, you just go to YouTube, you find Kentucky accent, just like I did, and you learn that. That’s how I have a dog. He’ll be the accent. So he asked me an answer. He asked me where I’m from and I answered, but he asked me proper way because he was very considerate. And that’s what I’m saying. A lot of times people think entitlement and maybe a little extra ring, which is more shinier on the finger, or maybe a little better car keys, makes them feel more important. And I just think that’s not the time right now. We need to just be together, exchange eggs, if you have extra chicken, bring them. I agree. We need to come together as a community and just do it for business wise, people that are hurting and all that type of stuff. Enough of political thing. Let’s go to our – It’s not political. Let’s go to our sandwich. Yeah, that is. It is. I mean, we’re not advocating any voting this, that, or whatever. It’s called humanity. That’s correct. Be nice to one another and we can create community by just looking out for each other. That doesn’t take any laws, any government or politician. It takes you and me. That’s correct. And also you have to feed people if you love them. And we love people and we like to feed them in our coffee and divine – We do. That’s why we have a divine Naples coffee and bar shop and a delivery system. And with our passion, we created sandwiches and our menu. And every single day I want to introduce one sandwich because each sandwich has a story. So today, Tuesday is 18th, and we’re going to introduce to you a very interesting sandwich which was named and also created in honor of our friend, Jonathan, that used to work for police station. Oh yeah, Jonathan. I love Jonathan. He was such a good guy. And when he worked for police station and we were shut down, I’ve always been here. We’ve always been open. I’ve always been here with policemen and they’ve just been fed with us. When somebody didn’t finish something, Jonathan came to the table and like a proper garbage disposal – Or a puppy that sits at the bottom of your feet at the dinner table. And every time he asked me for one sandwich, just this one. So let me just tell you, the sandwich name is Hamming It Up. In 1539, Spanish explorer, Hernando de Soto arrived in Florida with the 13 Iberico pigs. And shortly after, Ham was born. Let’s pay tribute to this brave man with our crispy ciabatta bread, garden mustard, uncured ham, tomato, European pickle, and organic mixed greens. We know Mr. Hernando would be proud of us after almost 500 years since we brought swine to Florida. Oh, I love it. I love my swine. Hey, listen, it’s interesting too. You see that he brought pigs, European pigs, right? To America and started doing it here in Florida. And you know how much I love my swine, ribs, ham sandwiches, everything. I love hot dogs, pork hot dogs. You’re not into hot dogs. You know what they say when you eat? You like sausage, though. I don’t eat much of that anymore. You know what they say when you eat a lot of bananas, right? You go ape something? You go bananas. Yeah, you go bananas. So when you eat too much pork, make sure, keep that in mind. I get porky. You know, I love it. I love my bacon. I love my ribs. I love pulled pork. And listen, I can get healthy with a do because I put that stuff up like salads. I got a few days for us to talk about today. Let’s do it. National days. The first one is National Tropical Fruit Day. Who doesn’t like tropical fruits? And why don’t you speak a little bit maybe about some fruit drinks we may have here in Divine Naples Coffee Shop. Don’t you have any fruit drinks? Yeah, we have a lot of fruit drinks. One of them is called, for example, Brain Suppressor. And what kind of fruits? Are there any tropical fruits in that thing? That one has, I think, pineapple juice. Any mangoes? When we do drinks, we are very short on those fruit things.

    00:15:02 – 00:20:00

We are more generous on the content of alcohol. Oh, I’m sorry. I thought you did some frosted drinks, the little… No, no, no. We do that. Oh, hold on. We have boba teas. They are fruity. Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about. Yeah, but I don’t have the menu for me. Well, don’t worry about it. Just know that there’s some kind of… I’m just the genius with limits. There’s the ability to come to divinenaples .com next tropical fruit day and get some kind of fruit drink. Boba teas. We have iced teas, which are a mix of forest fruits. It has no caffeine in it. We brew it every day. We have also a lot of juices and nectars. Nectars are really interesting. We are very picky picking nectars. We have mango nectar, pear nectar, pineapple nectar, fruits, kind of tropical fruits. We’re talking about tropical fruit day today. There we have it. I have another day today. Go ahead. Give it to me. World listening day. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you know about it or did you… I discovered it today. You just found out about it. How do you think I’d fare in that? What do you think of my listening skills as I talk over you right now? I don’t think I have to say much. You pretty much discovered it says, did you hear that? It’s like, shh, did you hear that? No, because he’s talking. He always keep talking. Hey, I wanted to ask you, couldn’t you put that… The other day you had a day of silence. Do you think I might be driven crazy with that? Yeah, you will. I’d have to listen and be quiet at the same time. That would kill you. You would die. You know, but I was just going to say one more thing for this. Maybe today as you’re out and about, maybe you might just spend some time and give a listen to somebody else. Just let them talk and get something off their chest. Let me just say something smart about this, and that is, the older I get, the more I listen. I wish I had this capability and knowledge a little bit before, because two things I’m going to say. First of all, I was very successful in sales, and for a very big corporation, American company. And very early in my career, I learned one thing, 80 -20, 80 % listen, 20 % speak, right? And now what do you do with 20 % of what you speak is very important when he’s selling, right? So you have to kind of earn these capabilities. And I’m going to go back to young kids again. If you are planning to do and be successful, because one day they’re going to turn off the Instagram, so all of you Instagram stars and TikTok geniuses, you’re going to be again, you know, dealing with people, not electronic devices. So you’re going to have to learn the skills, and that’s not easy. It takes time. So you should start right now hanging around people that, you know, did something, built career and are more like happy these days and learn those skills, because if they turn off those buttons, then you’re going to be way, way behind. So just think about just learning, asking questions, people that you think they have this capability. Yeah, we talked about that with the Youth Skill Day and acquiring things. Maybe it’s time to learn how to write with a pen and paper again, or just listening and or observing, learning by observing somebody doing something and the crafts. We’re going to do a bunch of interviews with businesses of people that are in the trades, plumbers, painters, electricians. You know, there’s a great need for that today, and you’re not going to learn that pushing buttons. You’re going to have to get the field and you’re going to have to learn. Electricians are going to make more money one day than lawyers. There’s going to be more lawyers than electricians. I agree. Keep that in mind. So that’s the first thing. So learn those skills. There’s always more, listen more than say something, right? There’s a reason why I have two ears and one mouth. For you, you have two mouths. I can see it. Yeah, I’m biting at the chump just to start talking right now. And second thing I’m going to say, when I was about 30, you know, I was still like very, you know, like more aggressive in the business. And I met a few really interesting people that were much older. And one of them was maybe 70 and he looked at me and says, you’re very smart. And I give you advice you should keep in the rest of your life. When somebody is speaking to you, that means he meant like when somebody is giving you advice, you know, just shut your mouth and listen. Shut your trap. And that’s the silence there, right? Because if somebody decides to invest the time, energy and thoughts into you, they care. That’s awesome. Respect them for it. You don’t have to do what I tell you what you do. Just think about it. Give them respect and listen. And today I know I should have listened a lot more. Yeah. Maybe I’ll start trying to apply some of your wisdom to you. It’s too late. It’s too late. I think if you change it right now, there’s going to be a big earthquake.

    00:20:01 – 00:25:00

There’s going to be something worldwide, just a disaster, some catastrophe, but I got one more day for you. Which one is it? I want to see if this is the same as I have. No, it’s a national sour candy day. And listen, listen, this is important, okay, because it was created by the American Licorice Company. Can you believe that? Can you imagine they haven’t created it in eight years, anything new, any fatter trend? But I love sour candies. But let me see if some of our listeners remember some of these gems. Anybody remember Fun Dip? That was back in 1973. And basically it was this little stick that you had and you licked it and you put it in some powder. Wow. Yeah. Then you had rock candies, those pop rocks that popped in your mouth. Oh, exploded in your mouth? Yeah, that was in 1956. Can you believe that? I think they still sell them, don’t they? Yeah. And then there was ring pops in 1979. What is this? It was a ring that you wore and you sucker. What? Yeah. But you know what the greatest fad was? They should have made a candy out of this and maybe they did, I’ll have to research it. But it was the pacifier trend that was in 1992 by the rappers. They have like a lollipop pacifiers. Yeah. Well, there you go. Then it happened. But anyway, there’s your day. If I knew that’s the day today, I would definitely get you one for today. You would definitely have one pacifier just shut your mouth. Yeah, that’ll do it. Couple of things I have to say. Today is also, let me tell you exactly, it’s a day where it’s very special. It’s called Perfect Family Day. Cool. I like that. And it’s on July 18, almost every year. And I want you to just take a couple of things that you should at least do today. If not, do it anytime you’re listening because it’s never late. Treat your kids with respect. Yeah. Give praise. Your wife. For good behavior. Make sure you help them. Let your kids be mad at you, you know, because they need to get that anger they’re through. Sure. Instead of storing it up and someday use that anger being lashed out at somebody else. Spend some quality time together, improve parenting skills. And one important thing I’m going to say, call your parents if you can. And that some people cannot do that. Let me just get some exciting news. Today, if you did not know, right, today is the record, actually yesterday, for most babies delivered in one day in four miles. Wow, that’s awesome. Give me number. How many do you think they popped out? Probably 17. 30. 30? Yeah. Wow. That’s almost double. I was low balling it. You just like… We talked about lottery yesterday. I shouldn’t pick numbers. 30 babies, believe it or not. Couple events before we go and wrap it up with our pharmacist. So first of all, we have, I hope I’m going to read it correctly. Go ahead. The hunchback of Notre Dame. Oh, hunchback of Notre Dame. I got you. At the Naipus Players. Oh, I would go see that. And they do this between 12th and 24th, and that’s the play. And if you can make it, just go ahead, because I think it could be really cool. Very famous hunchback of Notre Dame. Is it? What is it about? Yeah, it’s just awesome. It’s just an old play. I mean, would they play there? Do you know? No. But it’s awesome. I love it. Well, I mean, it’s a famous book. Fake it after you make it. Famous story. Is it? Yeah. And we have soon comedian Harlan Williams coming live in the comedy club. I mean, we love this club. I hope they’re going to invite us one day. They did. We just didn’t take them up the offer because we were busy. Are we doing something more important? Yeah, probably getting this ship rolling. Let’s go then. Yeah, well, now we can. Why we don’t bring the ship doctor? Let me do this. I am the captain of the ship. I’m going to ship in the pharmacist. So give me a second here and let me switch my hats. So off with the captain hat and on with the pharmacist hat. I don’t have a schmock though. We need to get a schmock for me. But anyway, you may ask, what is this in -house pharmacist prescribe? Well, let me tell you what I prescribe. I prescribe vitamin D and you’ll say, what is vitamin D? All this vitamin D talk. Well, I’ll tell you what it is. We want you to tell somebody about divinenapels .com to subscribe to this Matt and Rich podcast, to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram, because we are going to be going live on both. But would you go out and tell somebody today about divinenapels .com, anybody, even if it’s a baby in a stroller, which we talked about today. Anyway, I’m your pharmacist. Bam! There’s going to be 30 extra babies very soon in strollers. That’s why I pulled that in there.

    00:25:00 – 00:26:55

That was nice. Yeah. I got some babies to pull around. I might be able to find a date. Oh my God. Maybe I should start that business. No, not renting babies, but I’m your stroller guy. Engineer. I just roll up to the house. You got the baby already in the stroller. I take it for a couple of blocks. I get a benefit from it. They get the baby walked and I might run into my future wife. You never know. Just want to remind you, Beach SOS is here for you. If you’re sitting on a beach, go to beachesos .com, pick out the items that you need to deliver because you don’t want to lose that valuable parking space and you don’t want to maybe surprise your date on the beach. So let us know what we can bring you with our little mini truck, which looks like fire truck. And with that, I would gladly say this is over. It was great show. Thank you very much for being here. I don’t know what you’re doing rest of the day, but I hope you keep that smiley and dull. And this episode 390, we getting really close to 400 and yesterday you heard your voice. You heard your voice on episode one. What do you think about that? Oh my gosh. Five years ago. You talk about… February 6th. Excuse me. I almost choked on my lap. You talk about transformation. February 1st in 2018, that’s when we started. And we can recognize ourselves. We actually sounded much younger. And more stupid. Oh, I’m sure today from this Mike Rich. And from this Mike Matt. Ciao. Bye.

  • Matt discovers BURNA$$ For people that work their A$$ off Just like Rich– Episode #388 – July. 15th. 2023

DISCRETION DISCLAIMER – Word A$$ is used in the podcast so sensitive individuals should be aware of it! We thought we should be fine using the word A$$ because everybody owns ONE. Since we all have A$$ in common and some are trying to shrink it in size with different activities, Matt as a certified pharmacist brings the solution to the table and Rich steps up as a test driver for this product.

    00:00:20 – 00:05:02

Hello Divine People, Divine Day here in Divine Naples, in the Divine Naples Daily Podcast 388, that’s the episode number, and July 15th, 2023, from this Mike Rich, and from this Mike Matt, hey man, I was getting my zen on, yeah, I love them, I was like, the song can touch you in that mood, it’s so smooth, yeah, it is, you know, that song was written specifically for us, by them, yeah, for the podcast, right, and you know what, so many times I plan to uh, interview them, we never got them in the studio, they always in and out, they travel, they concert, they, you know, they all over, and Julian Bruce, if you’re listening, please reach to us, let us know where you’re at, we just want to give you virtual hugs, because we want to thank you, the music is, the music behind our voices, it makes us more sexy, and it was, I wanted, you know, virtual hugs and kisses, oh yeah, yeah, you’re going to get that little extra nod, well, here we are, Saturday, it’s 93 outside, it’s very hot, because it could be just hot, but that’s in January, right, you know that, right, two days in January is hot, otherwise, all the rest of the year it’s hot, very hot, or extremely hot, exactly, or hotter, I think you said, but whatever, whatever category, yeah, just remember the two days, if you forgot, go outside and tell me, yeah, there you go, well, let’s just jump, it’s Saturday, we take it easy, we just want to remind you that we built this whole concept, Divine Apples, to build the community, right, so we’re going to start with our business, to let you know what we’re doing, because everything here we’re doing is to kind of introduce something new, and we are real passionate about really good quality food and gourmet ingredients, right, and everything you said is organic, almost organic, as much as we can get, yeah, and you know, it was awesome, the best thing about it was, is the development of this, I know you give me a bunch of credit about being the wordsmith and everything, but it was actually a collaboration, we worked on it together, and the way we worked on it together was walking up and down the streets, yeah, and I had a pen and paper, and we would brainstorm and come up, you came up with some wonderful names, we would collaborate together, and then I’d come and put a keyboard, we don’t use pen and paper that much anymore, and I’d get on and I’d just write it and just, you know, put a little history and story behind each thing that we created, so let me just say what Matt is talking about, if you’re listening first time, we actually have a menu, and our menu has a story for each item that you’re going to eat or drink, we created menu for sandwiches, for croissant sandwiches, for oatmeal balls, you know, whatever we have on the menu, it has little stories, and we decided to just read the stories, because we used to have them on the table with the menu, and takes 30 minutes for somebody to decide what they’re going to eat, a lot of laughings, a lot of discussions, but it takes too much time, people get confused, and before they get through the whole menu, they get hungry, and they gotta go, so we decided to just, you know, take it off and make it simple, and create book, a hardcover book with pictures, and just, you know, people can entertain themselves between waiting for the meals, and read the little stories and histories and different things that we put together for these, it’s European type food and sandwiches, and then we also have a few that are local to us, like, you know, the Hemingway sandwich, anyway. The idea was to just make you experience something that you never experienced before, and then later on you can travel, or anybody could travel, so it kind of worked in our favor, because we never shut down, we never shut down, we never took anybody’s money, we hardly listen to the people, and people appreciate the fact that we have Good Morning Copenhagen, for example, or, you know, Bonjour No Milan, you know, just things like that, so they felt like they could travel, and we had a lot of fun, nevertheless, today is the day, I think, what do you think? Go ahead, share. Should I, should I, should I hit the right meal, which is ciabatta sandwich? Yeah, why not? The lady’s favorite? Yeah. Should I do it? Do it, do it. Okay, I hope nobody hates me after this. Or get offended. Yeah, don’t get offended, nothing is, you know, we just, there are hidden messages, of course, because, right, we are Europeans, we do that things, but we are harmless, and we just want to introduce the lady’s favorite sandwich, and that is chipotle hardone. There you go. There it goes. Why don’t you give an explanation of it? Salami is quite versatile meat, and you can have it a million ways.

    00:05:02 – 00:10:02

You can have it in platter, with bread and cheese, tossed in salad, layered on top of the pizza, or crisper into salami chips, with so many varieties. It’s easy to get confused by salami sectioned in your local market. Relax, we got you covered here. Hot ciabatta, chipotle mustard, hard salami, pickled tomato, and organic mixed greens. Your hard -on dilemma is gone with this choice. I tell you what, when we have a couple, they come, and they ask for, you know, recommendations, they’re like, what’s good here? Usually, I tell them, nothing. Everything is rotten, expired, and whatever is left in Walmart in the discount section, so you feel like a home. Yeah, there you go. And after breaking the ice, they go, serious, just recommend. I say, for a man, I recommend very easy sandwich. Just repeat after me, honey, and they go, honey, honey, mother clucker. I always make them say it really loud, so everybody in the restaurant knows what they are offering, and then I go, for ladies, I mean, the one and only, the lady’s favorite, and what is that? Chipotle hard -on. It breaks ice every single time. Yeah, that’s good. We like to do that, and that’s the whole concept of coming here, is building community, have a good time, and enjoy good food. I brought some food today, though. Remember, I told you, I promised. That’s the Asperger’s? Yeah, there it is. You’re right. This is a new dip from Walmart. It’s called Smoked House Burnt Ends. Oh, Burnt Ends. Oh, my God. And so, it’s made of cream cheese, smoked beef brisket. I’m a little bummed out because they kind of grind the beef up. I was looking for big chunks of burnt ends, but it has brown sugar, green onions, and barbecue spices, and I brought along some of your favorite chips. What is this? I never had those. These are pork rinds, and the reason why I do it is because… Why do they call them pork rinds? I have no idea. I’m not like… Is this from… I’m an encyclopedia. Yeah, it’s a pork product, I believe, but absolutely there’s no carbohydrates in it. How many fats is in it? 102 %? There’s five grams of fat, but we don’t worry about fat content. Okay, let’s do it. Let’s do it. But let’s go ahead and try this and you tell me what you think. Yeah, okay. All right, let me get one… Let me smell this. Hold on just a second. Let me smell it. Let me smell it. That smells like a cream cheese. I’ve been wanting to try that all week. This burnt ass is like a cream cheese, let me smell this pork. I don’t need those pork, so I can’t keep that. I’ll try one, I can’t keep the pork. Let me try this burnt ass thing. Oh my God. Delicious. You know what? You keep the pork and I keep the burnt ass. Okay, I’ll go with that. This is very good. I keep my promises. How much is this? I don’t know, I think it was about four or five bucks, I’m not sure. That’s worth it. This is really good. For barbecue, perfect. Yeah, absolutely. A good snack. And the picture’s enticing. Look at this. Yeah, just like I said, I was a little disappointed. There wasn’t chunks of burnt brisket in there, but we’re good. If somebody thinks the picture I’m looking at is like, what do you call it? Plumber. Plumber bends over? Plumber’s ass. I guess this is the only show we’re going to say ass. My friend, he’s plumber, right? The one time I called him to help me out with something and he bent over and I see what I see, what normally you see when plumber bends over. So I took a quarter and I slide it into the crock and he hit his head over the sink and started yelling, what the hell are you doing? I was like, you showed me the money box, so I paid forward. I have another idea for people that have the plumbers come over to the house and you don’t have to look at something like that and just cover them up. It’s very simple. Did you know when a guy or man, a human being, I’m saying man, reach a certain age and they just need one size of belt? Did you know that? No. Do you know what that size is? No. 36. 36? Yeah. What is your size of the belt? I do 32, 33. Oh, now come on. Well, I meant, no, the size of the belt is bigger than my waist. Okay. So I mean, so we don’t, I don’t want like 38 dude. Okay. So you should have 36. Yeah. And then you just put it lower and lower and lower as the belly gets bigger. Well, there you have it. So I made good on my promise. Thank you. That is really good stuff. Let’s talk about, you know, we always have events or whatever and today’s Saturday, but I want to talk about, you know, just some ideas to spend a Sunday with your family. I know some people have to work on Sunday, but I came up with some things to do on Sundays. And would you like to hear a few of them? I’m ready.

    00:10:03 – 00:15:03

Well, you can go on picnics. Yes. Some people can go to church. Hold on. You can take the burn ice in a picnic, but not in the church. No, no. You could go boating, bike riding, fishing, nature walk. We have tons of trails that you can walk. Do a simple barbecue. Of course we got beaches. You can have a movie night. Why don’t you just do a movie day and spend time, you know, being a couch potato, watch a movie with your family and eating snacks. And the whole concept is just this. We want to create community, right? Just spend some time with friends and family and enjoy your Sunday. I tell you what, this is so great you did this because a lot of people, you know, everybody’s rushing, rushing. Sunday is the only time they can go shopping and get things done. And sometimes we just need to hear from other people to slow down and say, Hey, that guy actually had a good idea. Right. And you know what? We always say take 15. Yeah. You know, take 15 with coffee and yourself, make it inventory. Like make it like mandatory every single day. Sit down 15 minutes, turn off the phone. Don’t talk to nobody. Just, you know, kind of close your eyes and just replay what happened and what is supposed to happen. You know, maybe meditate with the prayer. Just relax. That’s one thing. Yesterday we were talking about putting 20 minutes on the grass. You should walk 20 minutes barefoot in the grass so you can get connected to this earth. And now Sundays, spend Sundays with the family. Yeah. You know, I think it’s a great thing. You know, mini golf, you can play mini golf. Yeah, why not? Just do, pick an activity and spend time. It’s not that expensive. You can, you don’t have to pay membership. It’s just $13. Yeah. There you go. There’s so many of them around. So many things you can do and the nature is absolutely fantastic. You mentioned that. So thank you very much. That’s that’s, that’s great. Yeah. And I had another one real quick. I just want to touch on it. There was a national, give something away day. So just remember to be generous. That’s what today is all about. You gave me this. Yeah. Burn -ass. And then I have one more. You gave me burn -ass. I gave, I made, I made, I, I fibbed. I have one more and it’s national youth skills day. And I just want to say real quickly that it’s really a day that was to promote encouraging youth to start acquiring skills that will help them achieve personal success and fulfillment. And I just want to say real quick that the young people, when we talk about building community, we want to build the community from, from, from, from youth, young people, all the way to adults, the whole community. So young kids today is interested to get in our office or work with us. You know, we would love to just, uh, whatever we would like to just, you know, pass some of the skills, opinions and, and experiences because, you know, we don’t got to keep them forever. If you, if you have a question, just come over, have a conversation, take 15 with us. We’d love that. Speaking of that, we would love to interview local people, business owners, business people, people that have a story, get them in our studio, just, you know, let them know we are here and promote them. Why, why you have, what was the vision for, why Naples? Why do you do what you do? What’s your passion behind it? I was just listening, some recording Matt did a couple of years ago and, uh, he said the people buy from people, they have a story. And I truly believe if somebody, you know, share their stories while they are so passionate about things like you just hearing our stories, you know, you just definitely get a little bit more excited to try it, to support them because you’re just going to start having some beliefs. And then that’s the whole community about helping each other spend money. And if you have to spend the money, spend them with the local people, spend it local 70 cents of every dollar stays local. Just remember that. And it helps promote our, our, our businesses locally and also helps tax revenues for other things that we need in our County. So I have two things to say. One of them is about the skills because you know, you’re learning skills every single day. So guess what? I was learning skills five to five o ‘clock in the morning. What’s that sleeping? I’m pretty good at that because I slept three hours a night. No, I actually, uh, sink in the coffee shop, start leaking very badly. So I started investigating and we have this under counter, uh, grease truck, which, uh, because we really don’t fry and I should have been here to put quarters down your rear. So we don’t have a requirement to have a grease drop outside of the restaurant, right? Because we don’t fry anything because we don’t, we do healthy stuff. And, um, we have this grease drop. It is underneath of the sink, which is like a, you know, like a box and the water goes through it and that started leaking. And, uh, ever six months or so the guy comes here and he goes, well, when was the last time you cleaned it? I said, well, we don’t really have anything grease. How do I know we have to clean it? And he goes, well, you will smell it.

    00:15:03 – 00:17:14

I smelled it at five o ‘clock in the morning. I was dealing with that. You smelled it, but you didn’t chill for hours. And, um, first of all, I have to say Sydney is doing a great thing if he requires even small restaurant having grease drop because it’s necessary. Yeah. Today I’m sold on that item. And secondly, um, there’s not something I want to do again. Well, because there must be service for it. So you’re going to find a service for that. There’s probably local businesses that do that. Good. Yeah. Good. So if there are some young kids looking to open the business, I have an idea for you. I suggest stayed away from that one, unless you like stinky things. It just doesn’t smell really good. And the second thing I want to remind you, if you are supporting local businesses, give us a shout out. If you’re supporting local businesses, give us a shout out. It’s a service that is only provided by us, nobody else. And we will gladly bring you whatever you wish for from our website. I’ll be our fire truck. So, you know, just remember we are here for you and we looking forward to see you with that pharmacist. Yup. I’m the in -house pharmacist. And what do I prescribe? I prescribe vitamin D. You might ask yourself, what is vitamin D? Well, let me tell you it’s tell somebody about divine Naples .com to subscribe to our podcasts, like us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram, get out there and to just mumble it, like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and tell somebody about divine Naples .com. We love you. Bam. Just bumble the, we also repeated yourself. It’s all right. You got lost in it. People get extra dose. Yeah. That, and I’m getting old and I’m losing my memory. Anyway, on that note. And then that now we’re going to wrap this episode, which is in this day, which is 15th of July, episode 388 from This Mike Rich. And from This Mike Matt. Ciao.

    00:00:23 – 00:05:00

And hello all divine people, on small Saturday, that means Friday, July 14th, 2015, 2023, episode 387, outside currently is 91 F, sunny, more than we wish for, but that’s the Friday on 14. And my name is Rich, I’m from this mic. And I am Matt from this mic, and you know what, it’s not the problem, the sun’s not the problem, it’s the heat that it radiates, I like being out the sun, quite frankly. Do you? Yeah. Well, you don’t go to the beach very often. Well, I mean, I’m still out the sun. I mean, the sun does rise at what, you know, about six o ‘clock and it sets at, you know, 8 .30? Yeah, well, now, but basically I’m in the sun all day. Did you know? That I gotta be on a beach. You should be on the sun every day, 20 minutes, with bare skin, to at least get some amount that helps you every single day, that amount of the vitamin D. Oh, really? Yeah, 20 minutes. And the best time is in the morning. Yeah. Yeah, so if you want to go and catch some rays in the morning, I’ll suggest to you… Yeah, catch, like on the skin. You know what I’m saying? You get, you just don’t go to the dead beach where they’re giving $250 ticket, because that’s what it cost me. You might want, well, I got a suggestion for you next time, you might want to have a sticker and park it in one of the spots. That’s correct. But I just want to mention, that was the most expensive vitamin that I got. It was almost like a, what, 250 bucks, 20 minutes. It’s $12 a minute. Well, actually, it turned out, what’s 250 times three, because there’s 60 minutes. Well, you’re the number guy, I’m already lost. That costs you $750 that hour. Yeah, that’s correct. So be very careful how much you’re paying for vitamin D. Yep. And additional to that? Yeah, I got a vitamin D I’m going to prescribe later. Yeah, the later. That’s a different vitamin. And also… One of the things you should be doing, and every human being should be doing, is being barefoot in the grass. Yeah, really? Being connected to planet Earth. Oh, Mother Earth. Yeah, I don’t know if it’s mother, maybe it’s father Earth, but I don’t know what you’re These days you don’t know, maybe it’s binary. I actually got an email, I actually got an email from one of the companies, and there was a signature of the name, and behind the signature was, he, him. I was like, what the hell is this? Those are your pronouns, bro. He, him. Yeah. So he clearly identified that he’s just good, he’s just him, you know what I’m saying? But why do we have to do that? I don’t know, it’s just… It’s supposed to be just too generous, you know what I’m saying? Yeah, well, that’s according to your rules. Yeah, the parents is mother and father, so it’s either Mother Earth or Father Earth. I wonder where his father is, or I would like to go there. Yeah. Yeah, you want to eat your equal rights. It’s all about equality. No, but seriously, if you’re sitting with a computer… Yeah, I never got offended by calling it Mother Earth. No? Yeah, I mean, what, what, you know? No, you shouldn’t. I mean, no, but you know, I just… But somebody, you know. The fact is there’s more women in the world than men. Right, so men are… Well, then I should be able to find a date. He may be looking in the wrong place. Yeah, maybe. Why don’t go to like a, you know, what’s the name? Before they cancel them, before they are out of, you know, out of this planet. Bookstores. I love bookstores. I mean, that’s just… Barnes and Nobles. Yeah, I came down here to read, but I’m actually checking out Jix. Yeah, well, listen, I think… That was scholarly books and things. The way how, you know, you are read, you know, that means the information you’re carrying in this little hat that you have on the shoulders is equal to somebody who is looking for the information in the bookstore. So I would assume, you know, you can find somebody that you can have these conversations because you can seriously have a conversation forever until you burn them out with a voice. Or just talk their ear off. Yes. Yeah, but you know, if you want somebody intelligent, you find them there. Another place I would suggest to you, as your advisor… How about if I go back to college and hang out with the professors? Like the women? Yeah. No, that would be a problem. They will be still thinking they can teach you something.

    00:05:00 – 00:10:04

I don’t think they can learn anything anymore. You’re beyond that level. So you’re done. So as an advisor, a dating advisor of yours, another place I would suggest to you to find a woman, right? Just cancel your membership in the Match .com. That didn’t work. Yeah, that does. I don’t do those things. Just go to church. Yeah, I go to church. I like church anyway. But I don’t want to go to church. I’m going to church to get connected with God, not like check out women. Just make sure when it comes to church, just shut your pie hole. Because once you start speaking, the echo, I assume they will call cops or, you know, kick you out. Some of those larger churches got security. I might get an escort out to the parking lot. I was just talking to my friend today, Roman. Do you know him, Ron? Do you have a friend? Yeah, one that I grew up with. Roman’s awesome. I love that guy. That I grew up with in the place that, you know, we cannot, we cannot. They already know. We cannot know. So we were talking in our past and all this, and he reminded me something from my previous life. And he says, that woman could find problem for every solution. That’s brilliant. I’m going to steal it. And you know, you know what that woman was? Oh my God. I was laughing my ass off because the gist of the line, that woman, she could find a problem for every solution. That is a classic line. That should be, you could use that for just about anybody. No, you cannot. You have to use it for very special people that actually have the capabilities. You might have friends that act like that. If I knew then, I mean, that’s really long time, right? If I knew then, that she had those capabilities, I would somehow try to monetize them. You know what I’m saying? Like yesterday, we figured out how we can bottle me and you in the bottle. We call it what? Perfect genius potion. Perfect genius. I would kind of monetize my wife instead of just like disagreeing with her and stuff. You know, I would just figure it out how she can make money on her. Well, PGP, you just got that. That would be PGP. And then I would leave her. The acronym for our potion. Oh, that’s PGP. Yeah. So I just want to tell you, look what we created. Look at this. Can you describe this? Can you describe it? Well, it’s a styrofoam box that probably puts a sandwich in it. Oh, the sticker. I’m talking about sticker in a styrofoam box. The styrofoam box is just for testing. It’s where you put your sandwich in. But we created this wonderful sticker that will seal the meal. And the deal. Seal the deal. And there’s a message. I want to just mention that. Well, why don’t you do that? Because I like it. Because did you know that coupons are actually the only legal money that you can print home without the feds being involved? Yeah, you can print those. It’s the only money that you can print without the fed getting involved. Exactly. Catching a case and doing a 10 to 15 to 25 on that thing. You don’t have to worry about Secret Service coming under your door. No. Or going to have to spend some time at the Bureau of Prisons. Well, three hot meals. Exercise room. Yeah, but there’s a lot of other activities you don’t want to be involved in. So we created this sticker. It’s about four by six inches. Where we describe what is in the box. We deliver food to the beach. But also, there’s a QR code and a website which I’m going to read right now. Because everybody should know that. And that is divinenapels .com forward slash discount dash coupons. If you go to this website, divinenapels .com forward slash discount dash coupons. If you own a business, you can send us email at info at divinenapels .com. And tell us if you want to join us in this venture. And we will add your coupons to the list of them. Because right now there’s over $500 discounts. If you go again, divinenapels .com forward slash discount dash coupons. You will receive email with over $500 in coupons. There’s a little thing to it. That is, the coupons are only good for seven days from receiving that email. But you know what? It’s right now, coupons to the spa, day spa, beach delivery.

    00:10:05 – 00:15:15

A lot of them had four beers. Yeah, right. Three, four beers. So there’s a lot of really interesting things. And we created this sticker that we decided to seal every single box that we deliver food with. So people are, you know, they can be sure nobody ate their food, whoever’s delivering. Somebody opened up the box, tried a couple of fries. Yeah, that happens, right? I know it does. That’s why everybody’s stickering up their bags now. So just want to let you know, this is a new thing that we started. And if you want to order anything on the beach, your weekend is coming. So, you know, you’re going to be probably parking early in the day. And then you forgot, if you man, you forgot. They definitely forgot. We are here for you. That is peachesos .com. So that’s where you order one of those 250 or two of those 250 items. So now let’s go quickly. We have the menu of our sandwiches that the creator, the Mr. Perfect. Well, it was a collaboration. You always give me credit, but I like to put you on a pedestal. I just like it because you look much better than I. Thank you. That’s the truth. I didn’t mess with you. That’s okay. See how quick that stopped you from talking? Yes, because I had to think about it. And these days not much makes me think about. No, you’re probably going. I already thought about a lot of things. Somebody hit him with an ugly stick. So we have this menu and every menu item has a story. We’ve been spending a lot of time writing it and it’s really interesting. We want to share so you know how interesting stories and menu items we have. We serve in our Divine April’s coffee and wine bar, which is located in Fort Ebony South. So we would like to entice you with this, but also educate you some of the meals. You know that they have a history. For example, I’m going to, I’m going to hold on just a second. I’m going to pick one. Okay. Why don’t you take your time? Pick a nice one. Nice one, right? It’s not like there’s a bunch of them there. Yeah. So, um, let me see which one is the one here or one there. Right there. Here. The one there, here or there. But, uh, I’m on the clucker one. Right. Okay. So let me do this one. Uh, the name of the sandwich is honey mother clucker, right? Honey mother clucker. Yeah. When you come, when you come and you, uh, this is the first time in my life when mad said mother clucker and we were walking the street and we were laughing so hard. Then I think, uh, we probably woke up even the retired people from their nap in afternoon. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Especially if they were sleeping on, you know, on the fifth. Now I’m using the mother clucker all the time. Mother clucker. And I can get away with that because I also have Kentucky accent. So it’s really not like, uh, you know, it’s what the meaning behind it is really though, because you’re really meaning the other thing. Yeah, exactly. And we’re not promoting that. Yeah. It’s like I say, son of a bleach, chlorine, son of a biscuit. Yeah. Yeah. It’s like promoting the bleach. Promoting chlorine lifestyle. Oh my God. So let’s go. Honey mother clucker. Here is presume logic dilemma. What was first egg or the mother clucker? Many world renewed philosophers are still trying to answer this question. This is here. We have the answer and you will chew order this intelligent combination often crispy ciabatta with honey mustard, sliced chicken, meat, tomato, pickles, and organic mixed greens on your last bite. It will become crystal clear that chicken had to come out of the egg that came out of the chicken. Just saying. Oh my God. We just, you know, what are we going to do? We’re going to take all these stories and we’re going to put them in the heart cover book and leave one book on the table. Yeah. And I think we’re going to hear people first thing. Yeah, that would be smart just to, you have, cause you have the menu that you can just order quickly. You don’t have to read that and then just leave that there for some, I think that’s a very good idea. Sometimes you come up with some good ideas. I want to give a shout out to some of the events that we have. And first of all, I want to shout out to our friends that operating, Vergina, Vergina restaurant, what do you call it? Restaurant? Vergina. Yeah. Okay. Well, it’s cause I heard you pronounce it and I can’t make the mistake. Well, you can use your own familiar with another word that we just won’t say over there. So Vergina restaurant on Sunday, and very often they do, they have this music dinners and this one is very popular because they invite a musicians from Miami and they come, you know, and in Miami, a lot of Hispanics and they have this really absolutely wonderful culture.

    00:15:15 – 00:20:03

And the, the music is called flamenco show. It starts in 7 30 PM on Sunday, 16th of July, 2023. And you definitely want to get hold of somebody and we’re going to make a reservation and maybe close to the podium because the music will keep you in stitches. It’s a really nice acoustic guitar and belly dancers. Oh, nice belly dancers. So if you have a male friends in the town and maybe, you know, a bunch of guys who want to see some belly dancing with, uh, you know, um, nice, uh, Spanish also, maybe I could find a date there, but don’t bring your belly with you. That’s not recommended disappeared. So again, Vergina and the Sunday 16th. Now let’s go to another event that we have. And that is, uh, I want to just remind you there’s couple of them. There’s a couple, uh, quickly on 15, which is, uh, tomorrow between one and three and a Campier park Naples. Just masters. We talked about him yesterday, but I just want to give him extra shout out because this is, you know, this are the older guys, uh, which are experiencing music, playing jazz, and they just have a lot of followers. Bring your job, the beach chair, something to drink sunscreen. You can have been shade, but you’re going to enjoy a free concert in Campier park between one and three additional to that. Next we have, um, um, off the hook committee, two comedians. One of them is DJ Miller life, uh, that’s on, uh, on August, actually. I don’t know why they put it over here. So we’re going to skip that one. But the one that we mentioned yesterday, that is the comedian David Cutler. Yeah. He is from the office. Yeah. You got to go see that. And from here, we’re just going to skip right to our national days. What do you have? Well, I have a couple I want to share with you. Number one would be it’s national French fried bay. You like French rice? Uh, yes. They’re not that French. Did you know that? They’re not. We’re actually, they’re not, they’re from Belgium. Correct? That’s correct. Wow. Yeah. Well, the French people steals everything, man. They do. They, they, they just entice you and they steal everything. They stole croissant too. Do they? Yeah, that’s right. Yeah, baguettes. Yeah. Cause it was that Austrian. Yeah. That was Austrian. Yeah. I’m learning to, you know, hanging out with you cause we’re not telling your identity or where you’re from. Yeah. But I’m learning a lot about Europe and some of the culture just from a food perspective. So the old French fries were served in 1800s to Thomas Jefferson. Oh really? Yeah. You know. Over in France. Cause he was the, uh, he was our ambassador. No, it was in the White House. He was serving as a French mayor at the White House dinner. Yeah. But I, oh really? I thought, was he president or was he the ambassador? Yeah, he was. In White House. I don’t think he was still janitor. He was in the White House in a different capacity before that. Do you think he was janitor in 1802? No, but he is the, uh, one of the two main authors of the constitution, him and Madison. In fact, he had the most influence on it. He gave Madison a whole bunch of books to read to, to, to, uh, help put that thing together. That’s why French wanted to entice him. You know what I’m saying? With French fries. You know what he said when he finished eating French fries? What did he say? Yum, yum. No. Yeah. I like, I like French fries, man, but I don’t dip them in ketchup and people, you know, don’t take this wrong or whatever, but I just think mayonnaise is nasty in general. And why would you want to dip anything fried in mayonnaise? I don’t know, but I can tell you one thing for sure that after 1802 that he ate it, 1856, the French fries finally hit America. 1940. Why is that when we first got a fryer? No, just, I guess, uh, you know, they were figuring it out how they can monetize that and make money out of it. But they really, they really didn’t become very popular till McDonald’s. Yeah. It was in, uh, for maids, uh, cookery for maids, uh, of all work by, uh, E. Warren. I don’t know what that was. There was a, like a cookbook. Well. Yeah. As well. And, um, if you say French fries, what company you would associate with it? Well, I always think of Burger King, McDonald’s. McDonald’s. 1940. That’s what I was saying. They started. A few seconds ago. And in 1990, um, the McDonald’s starts cooking their French fries in the vegetable oil. Right. I wonder what they used before. More healthy, maybe peanut oil. I don’t know. So the people, Crisco, I think maybe there’s the ranking system. The San Francisco company, uh, use, uh, over a thousand Americans to rate their French fries. Number one, McDonald’s. Yeah. Number two, Chick -fil -A. Chick -fil -A. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, number three, Five Guys. Number four, Wendy’s and, uh, number 10 is Carl’s Jr.

    00:20:03 – 00:25:00

Oh, really? I don’t even know if I ever had French fries. I like Carl’s Jr. actually though. So a 55 % people like it with ketchup and, um, that’s pretty much, uh, you know. How many with the mayonnaise does it say? No. Oh, hold on just a second. Let me see. Mayonnaise is not even, oh yeah, five, uh, four percent. Only four percent. There’s your four percent. Well, did you know how many pounds? That’s not your case. Yeah. But, uh, right. How many pounds? Uh, I thought you rather do it in kilos or whatever. Your case is higher number, but there’s 30 pounds per regular person eat French fries a year. Yeah. I don’t even eat French fries. That’s like 14 kilos. I can’t even remember the last time I bought French fries with any fast food. But then again, I eat Taco Bell. I got a couple other national drinks for you. So I got national mac and cheese day and that is the ultimate, dude, no, but that is the ultimate comfort food and there’s so many things you can put in it. What? I mean, you can do lobster and crab macaroni and cheese. You can do, I’d rather have macaroni, cheese and Franks, not beanie weenies, but mac and weenies. You know, you could put all kinds of different sausages in there. Yesterday I talked about that dip from Walmart, the burnt, burnt ends. Where is it by the way? It’s just burnt, really charred. I forgot it today because I got this, but let me see if I can’t get it next week, but you could put like, you can make so many different mac and cheeses. It’s not like the yellow cheese. I’m going to stop you right here. One thing I never had in my life is macaroni and cheese. Okay, here’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to make a homemade one because I know you like cheese and if I keep it, at least there’s no yellow cheese in it. If I use smoked career or, you know, Gouda and some white cheddars, spaghetti and some macaroni. No. Why? Because then it’s not macaroni. Macaroni is a specific noodle. Noodle. It’s not even noodle. It is a noodle. It’s a pasta. It’s an elbow, pasta, whatever. Anyway, don’t mince words with me. I may, if there’s a different cheese than the yellow one, which is, you can burn. Yeah. Fire. Yeah. No, I don’t use that. But that’s a color. I may try it. Actually Boar’s Head makes their own coloring for their yellow cheese. It’s all natural. Can I put ketchup on it? You can do whatever you want. I just, I wouldn’t, I won’t eat it. I’ll just watch you. I have one more day for you. Give it to me. It’s World Kebab Day. Now that would go perfect with those belly dancers. Did you know that that originated over in Turkey? Now I was thinking, I was musing to myself a few minutes ago thinking, hey, aren’t those the same guys, the Turks that created the hookah pipe and the ones that smoke hashish? And I’m thinking, what kind of guy came out? Because it’s actually called food on a stick. And did he get the munchies or something? And then they start putting pieces of meat and barbecue back there. So basically everybody knows what a kebab is. It’s some type of meat, usually lamb, chicken, or beef with vegetables. I always say that vegetables are overrated. So I’d probably just stick a bunch of meat online and marinate it in something. But there is, I’m kidding. I love kebabs and it goes good with just about anything. Me too. And those kebabs would go good with mac and cheese. That is not so far from a gyro. But it’s Greek. You know, they use the same meat, which is lamb. Sure. Yeah. So, you know, when is the gyro day? I don’t know. We’ll find out. I will smear that on my face. Don’t worry about it. It’ll come up in, it’ll come up. No time. Well, I have one which is kind of special to me and that is national mystical day. And I think I should celebrate that today. It’s every second Friday in July, every year. And does it count when you ride scooter? I guess. Yeah. Two wheels, right? Yeah, two wheels. And mine goes 80 miles an hour. Wow, that’s crazy. So I think we should include me in it. And it’s kind of just special when the wind hits your face in high speeds. And it’s just an experience that you cannot experience in a car, unless your face is hit by a license plate in front of you, which is not a good thing, you know what I’m saying? So I just want to bring some kind of stats here. And that is motorcycles are not in few numbers. There’s over 80 millions of them in the United States. And the first motorcycle had the name, right wagon. Did you know that? Really? Yeah. And Howard Davidson really started interesting. You know what they used as a carburetor in the beginning of their assembly line? No. Tomato soup can.

    00:25:01 – 00:27:14

Wow. That’s nice, right? I mean, they make all the money, all the money. So just wanted to give you a little things right there. And let me see what else we have here. And I just want to mention yesterday we said that people if you want to hit the movie theater, Silver Spot before they close it in July 23rd, hurry up. For some reason, we don’t know the details yet. Silver Spot is closing, which is set a new year after 15 years. And with that, we’re going to slowly wrap it up. We’re going to bring our pharmacist. Yeah, we are. We were talking about vitamin D today and that was vitamin D coming from the sun. But today, I’m your in -house pharmacist and I prescribe a different vitamin D. That vitamin D is to tell somebody about divinenapels .com and to subscribe to this podcast, Matt and Rich Podcast, and to like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram. Would you go out and tell somebody today about divinenapels .com and have them start listening to The Matt and Rich Show? And on that note, BAM! That is right. And thank you again for the intro song, which is very special to us. It’s called Divine Naples. With this, we’re going to wrap it up. 387 is in the can. That’s going to be soup can, just the same as the Harlow Davidson News. And we’ll be wrapping it up from this mic, Rich. From this mic, Matt. Ciao!

mean it’s like let me let me just say this this is our menu of sandwiches for lunch and uh coffee and divine coffee and uh wine bar yeah and every single menu item has a story which uh you know we thought it’d be really interesting to be different yeah we work really hard middle of the nights here and uh sometime until two o ‘clock in the morning because there was only time when we we had quiet uh you know nice um time that we can brainstorm and i tell you what some of the outcomes are just um just amazing yeah it was pretty funny actually we were walking around you know up and down the blocks fourth fifth sixth all around ep eighth or cross eighth and we would just brainstorm and bring a pencil and a paper and write things down and then come back and before put it together before i share at least one i would like to share one one menu item story every single day i got an idea yeah what is it why don’t you share one every day that’s a great idea yeah well go ahead how did you come up with that i don’t know i heard it from somebody genius yeah so before i do that i uh i want to remind you remember uh when we were sitting here and uh we were riding i was trying to be just like you so i i started wearing crocs you know i don’t remember that but yeah wow i would never be like you but at least on the on the feet you know talk i don’t want i don’t want to talk about those red shoes you’ve been wearing yeah and uh we were sitting behind uh behind table yeah and there was a guy coming it was two o ‘clock in the morning remember we were uh sitting and and uh i was facing the guy was coming two o ‘clock in the morning towards us we have music playing outside two computers i do remember that and uh i said to you hey watch him yeah and and you you did he stopped by our table and asked us question which was do you know what time it is well i look at him with my suspicious eye because who will ask this question in the morning last time i heard somebody ask me the question uh you know what time it is it was probably 25 years ago because everybody has a phone or watch right and uh so immediately you know the red light went on and he passed me by which you know i was out of my view and mad was keep eye on him and i just hear hey put it back put it back and i didn’t even know what he took i just jumped and i started running behind him yeah i didn’t know what he had i thought it was one of the red cups i thought too i thought he stole our uh julius minel a red cup that we served coffee in and silver platter with the triple filtrated water i just had to put it in yeah and and uh one of our customer was here one o ‘clock in the morning enjoying coffee and he left money on a table and the guy grabbed all the money yeah and i didn’t know that i started running behind him in my uh crocs which i didn’t have like very loose on my yeah he had flip -flops they weren’t and and i was running up to the thin city i couldn’t catch him yeah he dropped one of the 20s did yeah because i i started yelling at him i was shoot your ass how shoot your ass and and he dropped the money on the ground and when i picked it up i i kind of uh lost the distance but in the meantime i see all these blue and red lights all over in sirens because you call cops well you told me to yeah well so but of course you know we have very good relationship with the police because we’re taking care of them from since we opened but they started like six cars all around looking for me and they couldn’t find me so i had to go in 41 and i think next day they found a guy and yeah he never came back i wonder what happened i don’t know i think somebody explained it to him yeah this is not a good place to mess up with this guy so he had some exercise to work like in the morning yeah so that’s just the story of how hard we worked yeah we worked so hard we put a life in the line for this all right so what you did i didn’t chase the guy yeah you couldn’t because you would need a forklift to get out of the i was out of the chair i was the one with the gun yeah so let me just uh let me just read one of them all right picante amicetto italiano tra mazzoni trauma trauma oh let me try again picante amicetto italiano tra mezzino why did i pick this one i don’t know it’s hot right here is the explanation of the if you are female keep reading you may want this for lunch are you looking for something attractive spicy and most likely italian that is the answer hidden in this name name of the sandwich so google it ciabatta smeared with barbecue mayonnaise spicy italian salami pickle tomato and organic greens ladies we are hoping you get addicted and ask for more tomorrow by the way did we mention this is for females so why are dudes reading this no kidding it’s for all genders yeah so this is pretty good i wonder what the restaurant uh has something no i think it’s actually nice because when we talk about naples or just southwest florida we’ve of course have the website we have tons of stories in the history we want to hear and bring people in here to share about their business to their history of uh why they’re here in naples and and uh i think it’s pretty awesome to you know kind of just we used a lot of the material for for things that uh are associated with southwest florida and that would be like the hemingway sandwich i mean didn’t he hang out in the in in the keys yeah of course and even here too wasn’t mark twain here or so i don’t know but anyway i’m here right now that should be the most important they’re trying to find a way to get you out of here i’m gonna be hard i’m like a cockroach yeah they don’t go away very no no no that you have to although i’m having great i’m hoping that some of these we got what’s that iguanas i’m hoping that the lizard start i saw a lizard chase chasing a what do you call those palmetto bugs the other day oh so you want me be eaten by a lizard now no i didn’t say that but anyway but i digress dinosaurs then you know no our menu is very different we have a lot of european items in our coffee and wine bar for breakfast for uh lunch and also an evening the idea was just to bring the european flair here so people you know they don’t have to travel save some money and feel like they’re in europe just from the uh fifth avenue where they want to take a break for all the carnival barkers yeah carnival barkers are we those are the guys that stand out in front the restaurants trying to badger you i mean get you to come in tiger show starts at 8 p .m oh no we always made a fun of it they need to get some guys out there with some uh what are they jugglers it’s tough well if you cannot come to our coffee and wine bar uh then just let us know we deliver beach sos .com delivers to the beach over 250 items and and they are unofficial sponsors yeah they show right right so look for the red fire engine yeah the truck mini truck yeah the mini truck with the lights on i really don’t see how that thing could have been a fire engine in japan but anyway technically it is but anyway yeah you can’t miss it it’s got a big coffee cup on the roof you know it’s it’s people in people in japan are small you realize that right they’re maximum like five feet something the other day i told you they’re getting a little bit bigger since mcdonald’s and wendy’s and their diets changed that because they are here eating it right well i see them there too now they’re getting pretty chubby eating barbecue and mcdonald’s and fried foods and i am really happy we have that fire truck because it gets 100 it has 100 eyeballs and 75 people that see it want to take pictures yeah i think it’s great i i remember going down to the beach one day with you just take a little ride to show me what it was going to be like for somebody to be delivering and some guy just stopped you right going to the beach on the sidewalk and said hey stop and that guy ended up bordering about 200 worth of stuff the that day yeah so if you are on a beach don’t don’t want to lose the parking space let us know we bring you what we have available which is a lot of things yeah right yeah and uh with that we don’t want to forget to remind you we’re looking for people to interview in our podcast so send us email with some ideas who you know who you think we should have here info at divine naples dot com yeah anything else you wanna know plug in i was gonna see if you have a couple of national days i have i have a lot of things even national days i have and i tell you what um there’s a national day which is by um it’s it’s your idol yeah involved billy idol no your no idol oh your idol richard simmons i bet you you were exercising with him in 70s richard doing oh my god he’s uh actually 75 years old did you know it’s richard simmons day it’s his birthday today oh happy birthday yeah and um i tell you what couple interesting things you know how long he’d been uh doing this when he started uh doing his exercise he started his exercising studio did he start the day he looked at himself in the mirror and said i’m fat i don’t know he was i have no idea he was 185 pounds when he was 15 i know he’s a big boy yeah so 1974 wow he started his studio can you believe it that’s awesome good for him 1980 he started uh the fitness show on tv and he won four emmy awards emmys yeah they people loved him yeah such a jolly fella it’s just he’s still inspiring people around you know i’m saying just like uh and he’s 74 oh yeah 75 i’ll have to take a look at him i’ll have to google that later yeah get a caption of what he looks like he wanted to be priest but that didn’t work for him he probably couldn’t fit in the door in the church yeah god spoke to him and says get out of here might have been his hairdo too i don’t know well the second day i have for you too what’s up i am so good today what’s that orange man day orange man orange man’s that means ever orange man’s day you know what that means no i have no idea you don’t know no okay got something to do with orange juice or the color orange or am i missing something are you irish by the way oh yeah but they also have green in their flag and it’s white well do they yeah well it’s uh irish uh irish day oh really yeah they won uh some catholic uh victory over catholic king james second oh yes orange day yeah so that’s why you know he should know they still don’t have their freedom on the island yeah it was 1572 i think it’s the only nation in europe that’s still under captivity it’s in i mean at least in northern ireland but i digress yeah well that’s i thought i make that’s nice i like that you know i mean i guess i’m irish my name is matthew patrick kenny either that or the irish are known for drinking they gave me three they couldn’t figure out what what name to give me so they gave me three first names i don’t know oh there i could be out any given day and somebody will call hey kenny or you know or matt or whatever so one way or the other paper or plastic paper that’s the day today oh really yeah oh it’s uh paper bag day july 12th that’s awesome we should use more of those it’s actually a renewable resource yeah save some landfill interesting enough it start they start producing paper bags in uh in england 1844 the first machine that was invented to make them commercially was in 1852 so since then we enjoying shopping in the paper you know and paper bags and uh they celebrating today we got nice handles on some of them now too yeah i remember i used to have to crumble them with my hand and carry them now you i’ll say you go to i mean i think aldi’s has nice little handles on there i have handles too yeah you got a couple of handles i love handles it seemed to be growing oh so what i make sure it can carry a lot you know somebody that bicycle of yours with that kind of neat little uniform you wear when you’re riding oh don’t bring it up here it was just to try i know it was funny yeah i like you looked good i’m just kidding yeah so um we want to remind you we are here also uh announcing uh days that are having some event yeah and tomorrow is really interesting event which uh you can enjoy on um on um downtown only once a month and that is evening on fifth yeah and there’s a bunch of musicians local musicians that play around the fifth avenue they spread them between uh bring them close to the restaurants and people you know they take kids they walk out get ice cream coffee and walk through the city and just enjoying this little evening with entertainment usually starts at 6 30 p .m and goes up to 9 30 p .m i will suggest you come earlier so you have place to park and don’t forget to tip the musician yeah so they work really hard yeah and uh i tell you what it’s not fun to be sweating with the guitar and some kind of costume uh and this weather yeah shout out to all our musicians out there too and we are also looking for any local talent that produces their own music maybe we can help to promote it and maybe use it on the show but i just really quickly too it’s like it seems like people you know learning instruments is a lost art with today and all the technical stuff and everything and different genres and rap or whatever so uh you know if you’re a musician and you have a story to tell about it or anything maybe you have a business that teaches people how to play instruments let us know we’d love to interview you do you play instruments yeah the one that’s picking up something from my face into my mouth i play utensils i play i might be able to bag a spoon on a table no i’m i have no uh music uh abilities whatsoever i play uh i play instrument yeah yeah i play on nerves yeah i’m pretty good at that okay yeah all right i play on yours a little later yeah the nerves yeah yeah i already did that i will show you nevertheless you can find information regards the music on fifth on www .fifthavenuesout .com they’re doing pretty good job inviting these events and art shows and everything else and always is nicely organized and they bring good musicians i want to just give them a little shout out and thank them you know just being being the one organizing this and trying to bring people out of their houses because i think people just hunker too much yeah they’re still in moods of six feet away and i would like to see them close yeah it’s breakout people are getting out there yeah all right so with that we got into medical field yeah and we need our pharmacist right now we do and so i am the in -house pharmacist and what do i prescribe i prescribe vitamin d and you might ask yourself what’s vitamin d well this is what it is tell somebody about divine naples .com today anybody even if you got a hassle with co -worker go ahead and see our faces and in that bam take your vitamin d if you’d be doing both uh both social media same time live yeah you know what that happens they get married and instabook is born we’ll have to tell this story one day i create i’m the creator of that it isn’t really come together yet but if you ever if anybody ever creates it i’m coming after you with my lawyers oh yeah instabook and there’s a threat you and lawyers it’s not gonna i actually have against that i don’t want you don’t gotta be coming no new torts we have enough problems with that you don’t gonna be coming too fast i can tell that you know because you’re not the fast walker no yeah you take your time i like to take my time yeah well in meantime you may just pass some restaurants and you take a break there too so you know because that’s what you do you got some ones i need to hit up you on a diet seafood everything i see i’ve been eyeing those stupid chips right there i always provoke him i put food around so it’s yeah but i’m a little upset with you why because a few days ago when we started this you had a big bowl of this caramel corn in here and you left it sit out and then i said hey you got any more that way you go oh lift it out and it got soggy who leaves kernel the caramel corn out now put it back in a did anybody stop you from eating and holding i didn’t i don’t even like that anymore so you can we have a guest watching us in here and niece probably noticed that i’ve taken off a few pounds and it has to do with not sitting around here you know dreaming up menus and eating stuff with you and chocolate and cookies and why you think i’m doing it so you can get it back very quickly i don’t want to i don’t need that i got enough problems well then i i pick on the mariachi band on tuesday yeah Old McDonnald had a farm with chickens, cows, berries and slurpees  Episode #384  July. 11th.  2023

    00:00:10 – 00:05:01

it And Divine is, it’s Monday, July 10th, 2023, episode 383! From this Mike Rich, and from this Mike Matt. There you go, Monday again. And we start this week again. You know the European calendar starts on Monday? It does? I didn’t know that. Well ours starts on Sunday, I don’t know. What do you mean ours? Who is ours? Gregorian, whatever. What do you mean Gregorian? Whatever the Gregorian calendar is. I don’t know. I don’t know. I find it weird because I mean like Sunday is a Sabbath. Why would you start a week with a Sabbath day? Yeah, there’s a lot of weird things here in America. Yeah, I mean it does make sense. I mean why wouldn’t you start Monday? First of all. You’d go Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday for work. Yeah. And then Sunday for Sabbath, which you know traditionally in the United States, being a Judeo -Christian nation, I mean that’s what it was founded on, they would take Sundays off in Sabbath. And in fact down in the south, I don’t know maybe here I need to look at the history, they used to have blue laws like you couldn’t be open and do business on Sunday. Yeah, let me touch that because you know what, there’s a lot of weird things, a lot of confusing things. Like starting days on Sunday, that’s confusing for you, right? Right, I mean I guess. I’m conditioned. I mean I grew up just doing it. But you make sense, I mean it makes sense. You make sense saying that Monday should start the day of the week. Yeah, it always makes sense if you don’t know that. Somebody may get a hold of us and correct us and say we’re both wrong. Maybe it starts on Tuesday, I don’t know. No, no, no. There’s one thing that’s for sure and I’m always right. Okay. Yeah, so thank you. So let me just introduce you. I mean, you are a legend in your own mind. I don’t want to start any friction here. Let me just introduce you. I mean if you’ve convinced yourself, go with it. Yeah, I’m going. So if you can just shut up for a second, I will kind of introduce the simplicity in your life, right? There’s one meter. You don’t know how many centimeters is one meter? No, because I don’t use the metrics. A hundred. A hundred, okay. And you know how many kilometer has meters? I don’t even know what a kilometer is. A kilometer is a thousand meters. How many of those do you need to make a pile? How many centimeters has… I know centipedes. …one meter? You know, we can go on and on. It’s all hundreds. One and zero, one and zero, zero. The only thing a hundred I care about is the Franklin. A hundred dollar bill. You see, how many dollar bills is in the hundred dollar bill? A hundred. Well, this is simple, right? It is simple. Hold on just a second. How many eighths of inch is in one inch? The eighth of it. No, how many eighths? It’s missing two. How many eighths? Eight eighths. Oh, that was, yeah. How many sixteenths? Sixteenths, sixteenths. Yeah, but you cannot really visually tell me how big it is, right? No, not really. Yeah, it’s kind of confusing. How many, you know, it’s just like you can start confusing people with the inch measurements. You’ve confused me. And now tell me how many pounds is in, you know, how many ounces is in the pounds? That’s easy. That’s sixteen. Oh, you think so? Yeah. How do you know that? Because when I go to the grocery store, it says pound of ham when I pick up the bag. I guarantee you. And I see on the bag, it says, hey, it’s sixteen ounces. I guarantee you. And then it has parentheses, it says one pound. Okay, but I guarantee you, right, that 90 % of Americans probably are confused by that. Yeah, they are. Well, that’s because of our educational system. It’s not just that. Lately, it is. But it would be much more simpler if you just have hundreds, you know, one and zero. But why not just have one and zero? Yeah, exactly. That’s my question. Why? I don’t know. Because humans are complicated people. No, we are very simple. We are very simple. Speak about yourself. And let’s just think about, like, for example, like a man, you always think about one thing and one thing only. What’s that? Think about it. So that means you are not a man. You are not. I don’t know. Today, you never know. I mean, anyway. But I get it, you know. Of course, it’s women. That’s where the one -track mind, they say a man and that type of stuff.

    00:05:01 – 00:10:09

But, you know, I don’t know. We have, as a man, as a human being, as a man, we have one thing kind of clear. Yeah. You know, if you’re the right man. Right. If you don’t fall into the percentage that you are a little different. Right. Right? And we think about it. One thing and one thing only continuously. Right? Women. Yeah. Yeah. Well, how to make them happy? Yeah. Well, true. You know, you can keep trying. You can probably do that, make them happy with a bunch of Franklins. That’s exactly right. And then you know you need a hundred of them if they’re single. Probably more than a hundred. And maybe you’ll be able to confuse her because you tell her, hey, you have sixteen of eight of Franklins. Yeah. Or you just put a, you know how the bills come with the strap around it? Yeah, the paper strap. The paper strap, yeah. What you do is you put the Franklin there on top of all the rest. And the bottom and all the rest are ones. So you just go, hey, Eddie, here. Have a great day today. And she goes thinking I got all these. And you think she cannot recognize the one and zeros. No, no. She says two hundred dollars and whatever’s in between. Well, that would be what? How many, I don’t even pay attention to this. That would be two hundred ninety eight dollars. Those are two thousand. Is that two thousand? What happens? Usually it’s written on the wrapping, right? Yeah, because it’s complicated. Well, we’ve probably, you’ve complicated this whole thing for me. I’m confused. No, I just, when people arrive here from different countries, I guarantee you one thing. Because I experienced something similar. It was a long time ago. A long, long time. I came and I was impressed. I’m still kind of impressed. Everything is big. You don’t know how big because you cannot measure in the inches and ounces. You cannot really, you cannot get a visual of how big it is because you come from a metric system. But you know, it’s big. Big cars, big houses. Big mouths. Big plates. Big meals. Big buffets. And in the end, big people. Yeah. That’s pretty much what we get impressed with. Yeah, well not necessarily here now. Remember we’re the healthiest and happiest. Well, I think that changed a little bit here. Have you got a little exercise? It does have a lot to do with diet and what’s in our foods. I mean, how many, I’m amazed at how many fat Chinese and Japanese people I see these days. And if you look at their cultures, you know, back in Asia. Yeah. They live in the 30 square feet apartments. They come here, they get 30 ,000 square feet apartments because they work all the time and they finally make it into the big kind of. Well, also it’s just, you know, just the fast food and things that, you know, I don’t think. When did McDonald’s go to Japan? I don’t know. After the war or something or whatever. But I mean, it’s just like, you know, their diets. They’re usually in. Absolutely. So anyway. I mean, you are what you eat. You are. And you eat cookies. I do eat cookies. I look pretty good now. I just want to, and chocolate and all these things. You do things in moderation. I mean, you may not have the shut off valve then. You just keep going. I don’t have a shut off valve. I do. Sometimes then I have to take drastic things in my hands. Sometimes I do intermediate fasting and that type of stuff. Sometimes you just. But you have it under control. You know, again, it’s like, you know, just do things in moderation. Take care of yourself. And a lot of people do that because obviously we’re the healthiest and happiest. City. City. Yeah. What made you happy today? What made me happy? In the morning. You know what I do? Every single day. You know what I do? I take three fingers. You want to see them? These three fingers. Oh. Right. That’s a thumb and two fingers. Okay. These three fingers. Hold on. Hold on. I get the visual people. You know. Thumb is not a finger. Yeah. This is not a finger, right? I guess it’s a finger. Okay. Do you see how everything confusing in this country? How many fingers they have? Ten. No, you have two thumbs and four fingers on each hand. Oh, thank you for clarifying it. All of a sudden I don’t have ten fingers. All right, so three fingers. These three fingers. You’re holding up four now. Can you describe what I’m doing? Any morning before I even open eyes, I take these three fingers and put them right here. Oh, your pulse to say, hey, yeah. And then I scream, yes. I’m alive. I’m here. Yeah, that’s true. I just, first before I even open my eyes, I kind of check if I’m still alive. Yeah. And that’s what make me happy. Yeah, that’s awesome. I am too. I’m a pretty simple, happy guy with just, you know, just life. I just like people hanging out. I’m not into material things. And then when I see you, that makes me happy. And when I see you, I kind of get happy. I mean, you may get happy for different reasons because I feed you with coffee and all these things that, you know, nice people do to nice people.

    00:10:10 – 00:15:00

Right. Yeah. But, you know, just nice to have you back. Nice to have you back in the town. Yeah. I’m glad to be back. I really don’t want to leave anymore. I’ll go see my kids. And, you know, they, you gave me that nickname again. You know, I got a new one. It’s Huckleberry Finn. Yeah. What was the old one? I got a whole bunch and we’re just not going to. Yeah. But, um, it’s funny because like I said yesterday or Saturday, we’re talking is like, uh, one of my kids thinks I should just get one of those. We’ve always talked about this before. Remember when I used to talk about the vans? Yeah. And putting together and I should just go from town to town. But I really, you know, I really don’t want to go anywhere unless it’s to go visit my kids in California, my grandkids. So, um, I’m glad to be back in Florida. I love the weather. I just love the people and just the vibe. And so I’m excited. And people love you. So you’re here and we’re doing it again. We are doing again. And this is a, it’s a little bit better this time because with the investment you guys have made in the technology and kind of perfecting a little bit of the show, we are, you know, with so many things going on, we won’t go into that. But, um, you know, we’re able to post them every day and which is a, is a big deal. And so part of the plan is, is that we plan on to do the shows that you’re hearing right now, Monday through Friday, just raw right, right at the microphone. And then Rich, my partner here, who’s into obviously numbers today, uh, is decided and we’ve come together and said, Hey, why don’t we just do live Facebook and Instagram on Saturdays? So that’s what we’re going to be doing. So we can connect directly with you on the, on the screen. You can see the first trial and how beautiful we are on Facebook and also Instagram. Uh, there’s a first time that we tried it and you can interact with us and ask us questions directly on the screen. We can answer them. We can talk, kind of give you ideas if you, you know, whatever you want to know. And there’s no filters. Uh, we of course keep it R rated. So, you know, we don’t have to, what is not R rated? G. G. G rated. R and unrated. R rated means you need to be 17 and above. Thank you for correction. So we’re G rated. It’s family oriented. That’s correct. So unrated. Unrated. Okay. You make a new one. Just make sure people understand. Okay. And, um, you know, we would be on a Saturday, we know people are home, maybe on the beach, you know, we kind of announce what time we’re going to do this, uh, in advance. So you can prepare, you can watch us, you can ask whatever question you want. And Sunday we’re going to publish the longer interview of people that, uh, we think they have a story, interesting story that, you know, belongs to Naples. And, uh, yesterday there’s a podcast with Donald Devo. If anybody ever purchased car from Devo Cadillac, GMC, Subaru, Volvo, I mean, so many different, uh, you know, it used to be Isuzu. Yeah. You know, what else? GMC. GMC. Buick’s. If you had a Buick. Yeah. All these cars, they’ve been here since fifties. And I guarantee you the story is so interesting. I loved it. I used to know how Naples used to look like. And what he used to do. Yeah. And the three of them in paper routes and all kinds of stuff, you know? So you can, you can learn where, uh, what was his first girlfriend, where he took her off for a date, when he almost got arrested. Yeah. You know, it’s just like really interesting things. It was a different time, you know, growing up there and their parents just, you know, took, they came from Ohio, right? Uh, yes. And so just kind of in Indiana and settling down here when it was just really Everglades. I mean, you know, when you think about it, just when, when I came about the same time as you, I think I came in 95 or 96, um, there wasn’t really that much built past airport, to be honest with you. And it was still, that was still called these dates. I remember when I was driving to Bonita first time, somebody could send me to junkyard and I was driving and driving and I was like, I thought I got lost. I was driving for like 40 minutes. Yeah. Just like with nothing on either side. Nothing on either side. I was like, where am I? I pull up the map, you know, the one from Walmart is still looking. So I turn around, right? And hold on just a second. I turn around and I’m driving back to Naples. I started in the morning, so I’m in the weekend and no English. I couldn’t speak anything in English. So, um, I was going, looking for some kind of part, uh, for the car that I had. It was Ford Escort. That’s what it was. A very nice car.

    00:15:00 – 00:20:05

Quick set all repair daily type of thing. So I drove back another, you know, 20 minutes. I was like, you send me, I go back to the guy, you send me to his junkyard. I couldn’t find it. I was driving from showing him and he says, no, keep driving. So I go back. I passed that point where I turned around for another, like five miles and turn around again. Right. So I did this three times, back and forth, back and forth. Now it’s already three o ‘clock in the afternoon, right? Because I’m going, this is my fourth time going that direction. And I finally kind of asked somebody and he just pointed across the street. I would turn around again and go back because. Oh my gosh. Yeah. It was just at the point where I was always turning around. I couldn’t, I was, you know, it’s just how Naples was. You know, it said the problem is, is that Al Gore, I think just, it’s just created the internet. Do you think so? That’s what he said. Wow. And then you didn’t have GPS. You were still using old school maps. Yeah. But I mean, you, there was no GPS. Oh, you did? Yeah. I had the map and finger. Yeah. That’s what I’m saying. Old school. That was the version 1 .0. Manual. Yeah. Manual GPS. Hey, you know, can you imagine today if we didn’t have that? I mean, we’d be, I don’t even know where to go buy a map. I guess you can go get an Atlas in Walmart. You know what? I saved. I don’t see them in gas stations. I saved the map and I saved the yellow pages. Yeah. I think they’re going to be very lovely one day. Oh, you did? Yeah. Because I don’t think we’re going back to that. No. No. Yeah. And if we do, I’m prepared. Yeah. Well, and at least not, probably not with any, you know, relative numbers. I mean, we used to be able to. Those people in that book might be dead already. I used to be able to remember a number of phone numbers from whole family. I barely remember mine. Yeah. That’s the only one I had known. Mine. So if you get arrested, will you call? You remember your number? I mean, you can go in my phone and I got names for everybody. I don’t even think I’ve even put their last names on some of them. I just, how I beat them, like. Mark Blue Hair. John from Amazon. I was wondering what happens if I get a second John, I just write John too. Amazon too. And we want to remind you here that we are always looking for somebody to interview. If it’s the business owner, if it’s somebody that has some interesting story, please let us know or contact them to contact us. Just do something for, you know, for this community so we can bring the stories and interesting people out of the shadow because we want to know where they are and what their story is. I think there’s everybody has one interesting story. We need to share them around and we are here to create community. So help us out with that info at divine Naples dot com. You can send us email or you can send us direct message on any social media. So thank you very much in advance. Right. Yeah. And we just we want to know who the business owners are and to share their story and why they do what they do, their passion so that we can drive customers to their business. That’s correct. And let’s talk about National Day. We have some interesting ones. And you want to start with yours? Yeah, I do. It’s National Kitty Day. Do you have any cats? No. Really? No. Do you have any pets at home? No. Lots of people have awesome cats. Actually at one time, I really just to be honest with you, I didn’t like cats. And if in my household, if we had animals, I had to take care of them. So it was like kind of taking care of more kids. I pets had temporarily, but it died. Did it? Yeah. In three days. What, a goldfish? No. When I was coming home, it was cold outside. And you know, you turn on heater and all this in downyards. And you know, it’s like two days in a year in Florida. And I was unloading shopping from the Publix. Yeah. The pleasure. The shopping is a pleasure. Shopping is a pleasure. Yeah. And I left the door open. It was dark night. I left the door open. And you know, in the end, I kind of got this going. Go to sleep. And I hear scratches in the wall. I was, what the heck is this? And I had scratches and scratches. And we have metal studs, you know, in the house. So it’s just like scratches. And then I found out we had red. Oh, really? Yeah. The red followed the wall around the house. And the door was open. So we went inside my house. Did you even ask? So that was your pet? Yeah, it was my pet. Oh, my God. You should see me. I would have got out some glue. I had a golf club next to my door. Every time I opened the door violently, I could almost hear something. I ran inside, see if I can find it in the kitchen. And then in the end, I put some traps. Yeah. I found that cats are a lot easier. They used to bug me, but they’re a lot easier to take care of. I’ve had a couple of girlfriends that had cats. And also then out on a property off of Sable Palm, we had feral cats that stayed outside, and they actually did a great job.

    00:20:06 – 00:25:03

They kept rodents and those types of things away. So it’s National Kitty Day. If you’ve got a cat, celebrate, you know. If you don’t, maybe you might want to go to the pet stores, local pet stores, and take a look at kitties at Brickwood Home. Maybe some people have different cats, and I’m going to talk to the individual that they call individual certain cats. Because today is also nude recreational week between July 10th and 16th. Yeah. So you can get nude and find a place where you can do that. Is that legal anyway? In your house, in your Jacuzzi. Where did you just keep it in your house? Backyard. People also should be more healthy to sleep naked. Is it really? I have no idea. Why is that? Well, I mean, you don’t have anything on you. So I guess the freedom, sleeping naked is quite common in England. 30 % of people in England sleeps naked compared to 12 % of people in the United States. Did you know that? No, I didn’t. Yeah, that’s what it is. And the Olympics used to be nudist too. Did you know that? I had no idea about that. Really? In ancient Greece, athletes would compete stark naked in Olympic games. Really? We should bring it back. Oh my gosh, no thanks. And you know, there’s those guys that always go up into like these little men clubs or whatever and they jump in the freezing water like in Alaska or go, I don’t know, Minnesota or somewhere and cut a hole in ice and jump in there. You can go in sauna. You can have that. But who would want to get naked and jump in a cold hole if it’s freezing? It’s in sauna. You’ve never been in sauna? That’s hot stuff. Yeah, but then you’re supposed to jump in the cold water. Oh, I had no idea. Yeah, it’s for the health benefits. Oh, I didn’t know. Because when you’re sitting in sauna, because you don’t, you’re sitting in a sauna here outside. When you’re sitting in a sauna, your pores on your skin open up and detox. And then you just go and close them quickly, but also when you stay in the water for a certain period of time, which is between two to four minutes, it increases or improves your immune system. Really? But being in cold water? Yeah, absolutely. The only problem is the man naturally has a problem with the cold because it can shrink. And I heard the stories that some of them shrink so much that they were looking at it for some time. Let’s go to another different day. And another different day we’re celebrating is Nikola Tesla. Oh, wow. Yeah, inventor Nikola Tesla. That’s his birthday today. It’s his birthday, dad? Yeah, he was born on July 10th, 1856. We’ve got an awful lot of Teslas around here. Well, I tell you what, this guy was some kind of… They also think he’s a time traveler. Wow. He was able to predict things and create things that were so far away from whatever the times he was living in. Wow. That he was… So you think he was doing back to the future stuff? No, I mean, he was very smart. Like a time machine? Yeah, maybe. Who knows how things work? You know what I’m saying? He changed the world. He basically invented 20th century. Wow. With a lot of inventions, he had over 300 patents. Wow, that’s awesome. Are they all in use today? I’m sorry? Are they all in use? A lot of them were stolen. Yeah. And he was living in New York, and in the end, he was very poor. Wow. At the time, he was also working in Edison company. Now you want musk as always, buddy. Yeah, I guess so, yeah. And he died. He was 86 years old. Do you know what’s interesting about him? He had photographic memory. He was polyglot. Do you know what that is? No, I don’t. He was speaking multiple languages, just like me. Yeah. So many different languages. So he was a what? It’s polyglot. Okay. Do you want to spell it? No, thanks. Okay. You don’t need to know. He was a picture thinker. So he was able to think and already have a picture. A picture of what it is. That’s cool. And you know what his estimated range of IQ was? Just like mine. 70? Yeah, it’s all going to come back to you. Between 160 to 310. Oh, my God. 310. Yeah. Come on. Is there even a number like that? Well, it is. They put it right here. It is. I was like, hey, you know, the ice cap’s going to melt in 2013. I mean, how? Just go and study his inventions. Okay, I will. And try to think about doing those things in 1956. I couldn’t because you need to be a mathematician, and we know that, remember, I’m a macro guy, not my friend.

    00:25:03 – 00:30:02

Yeah, you can only say hundreds. Right. But you don’t know how many numbers he’s in. I don’t know how many. Oh, my God. How many ones does it take? Let’s just touch some events so we know what we’re doing here. There’s an event for you. It actually started Saturday, but I think you can catch up with them. It’s the seven -day silence retreat. I think if we go there … I think if I went there, it had to be silent for seven days. You die. You die. Either that or I was going to be committed to the hospital. No, I was in the psych ward. Oh, my God. So it started on Saturday, July 8th, at 1 p .m. Hold on. And it goes to 15 to 1 p .m. And it’s at the Greenlink’s Gulf Villas of Leyla Resort. And if you still feel like you want to catch up with them and just shut your pie hole for seven days, nobody’s answering. I don’t know how they do that. It’s interesting. And I think everybody should just shut down the telephones and emails and all this and just go to detox and just sit there. Now, another event, which I would like to point it out, which is really interesting, is Qigong, which is Qigong practicing and Qigong and Tai Chi class. And that is always held in the Campier Park. Yeah, it’s right over here. Tomorrow at July 11th, 2023, starts at 9 .15 a .m. and goes to another class is 10 .15 a .m. So please join them. It’s one of the most popular exercises, this breathing exercise, energy exercise that is going back 3000 years in China. And most people, when you see in movies or anywhere else, when they stand still and moving slowly and breathing in and out, that’s what they’re practicing. And a lot of Chinese people are healthy thanks to that. Yeah, they are. Something to think about. And there’s also going to be the GP student musical, Little Mermaid, and that’s at the Norris Center. Hold on just a second. How big is that Little Mermaid? There we go with you and your numbers, man. I just can’t take it anymore. And then I believe there’s also the Adventure Camp. And that is going to be at Fleshman’s Park. And that’s off of Goodlet, isn’t it? From Fleshman’s Park. Yeah, it’s next to the mall. Yeah. Yeah, next to the Pandapa video. Yep. And that’s Monday. That’s actually been going on. It started on the 10th, and it’s all the way till Friday the 14th. And it’s 9 a .m. to 5 p .m. They just built the most coolest kids park there. Yeah. With artificial grass, nice slides, everything is fenced. So, you know, just nice, secure. And if you have kids, that’s definitely, if you haven’t been there for a while, you would be really nicely surprised. So go check it out. I am so happy for people that invest into kids and donate money into good purpose and use. So thank you very much whoever donated, and thank you very much for building, and thank you for City of Naples organizing it and maintaining it. And just like a cool thing, really right now they had, you know, a place to go with kids. Yeah, wonderful. That’s wonderful. That’s pretty much it. And anything else you want to add? No, I’m good. Oh, I forgot to mention it is pina colada day too. So that’s a perfect drink for the beach. So if you want to, if you got time, it’s go out to one of the beach hotels or something and have one of those served and maybe take a stroll on the beach. Straw? Straw or straw? Oh yeah, so you should do that. You might need to be putting a stroller. Why are you saying that? So you act like a big baby sometimes. Well, I am. I’m really happy with that. So just want to let you know for confusing reasons, you know, it’s 31 Celsius outside. So just so you know. Okay. So that’s about 91. I don’t know. It’s 31 Celsius outside. Okay. Yeah, for European listeners and for Americans. That’s now you’re confused like Europeans are in America. You’re welcome. With that, I’m going to wrap it up. It’s Monday, July 10, 2023, episode 383, wrapping. I got one more thing to do because I’m the in -house pharmacist. Oh, I’ll take it back. Unwrapping. Unwrap it. Let me get back to this. And so I am the in -house pharmacist and what do I prescribe? I prescribe vitamin D. We want you to go out and tell somebody about divinenapels .com. Monday is first day of week NOT SUNDAY find out why   Episode #383  July. 10th.
