Lana is a court-approved mediator in the state of Utah. A former 4H leader for kids, an avid equestrian, gifted seamstress and author of Divorce’s Firestorm. Having facilitated a divorce support group in Salt Lake Valley for years, Lana Mayfield is an expert when it comes to the paralyzing isolation divorce generates. 

Born in Wenatchee, Washington, Lana has also taught parenting classes and many other classes like Genealogy or family history research. She has lived in England and spent time in such countries as France and several in Asia. 

She is a life coach to many single men and women where she advises them to give things time and advises them to learn to be happy alone before finding a future companion. Lana ‘s hope is that those dealing with divorce will feel comforted that they are not alone and there is hope in life as we take one day at a time.

After going through her own divorce & struggling to find support groups - Paula took the bull by the horns and launched, Divorced In Utah.

In her own words:

"After 15 years of being a stay-at-home mother of 4, my life was suddenly turned upside-down when my husband left me and moved out of state.  How was I going to have a job and take care of the kids?

My dream is to have an organization where divorcees help other divorcees with no strings attached.  The first year is the hardest and who better to guide you through it then someone who was just there.  And so, that is the story of how Divorced in Utah came to be."

I was first introduced to Jon last year & it was a blast to interview him. Currently, he is the family law specialist attorney at Kaufman Nichols & Kaufman in Ogden Utah. 

In 2017, Jonathan was named Utah's Young Lawyer Pro Bono Attorney of the Year for his many volunteer efforts helping Utah families, and Jonathan completed training as a Utah Mediator in business and family matters. In 2018, Jonathan was named a RISING STAR in the field of Family Law by the American Institute of Legal Advocates. When Open Legal Services disbanded, later in 2018, Jonathan returned full time to Ogden and to continue serving Utah families, primarily in Weber and Davis Counties. 

Jon Felt is a Utah court appointed mediator  Jonathan first trained as a Mediator for the Department of Defense to resolve federal employment discrimination cases. He earned his J.D (High Honors) with Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Hamline Law (ranked #2 nationally for Dispute Resolution) and trained in cross-cultural mediation at the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. Before becoming a Family Law Attorney in 2016, Jonathan worked 1 year In-House Counsel for UST Manufacturing in Layton, Utah. Prior to law school, Jonathan served 4 years as a High School and Middle School teacher and 6 years as an Air Force Personnel Officer.
