This week’s episode was inspired by the movie “Waiting to Exhale.” I share my experience in finally “Exhaling” and letting out all the pain and anger I had been holding in for so long. Going through the divorce process will test your character and your patience. There will be moments that you step outside of yourself and maybe behave in ways you never have. Whether it’s yelling your truth and standing your ground or burning your exes clothes in the front yard like Bernadette in “Waiting to Exhale”. That moment of I’ve had enough will come during the divorce process. My advice is to give yourself grace, learn from it, establish boundaries and try not to do anything that’s going to get you locked up lol.

On this week’s episode I share my journey to and through getting dickmatized! Sex after divorce can be both scary and exciting. On my journey I fell hard and fast into the dicksand. After going so many years without having sex, once I started again I lost my sense of self and my focus. Feeling wanted and desired after the feelings of rejection that a divorce brings can be addicting. Creating that connection with the wrong person can lead to you over looking red flags and staying in a relationship with the wrong person, for the wrong reasons. Having amazing sex is not the problem. I wish that for all of us! However, loosing yourself and your focus in the process is not okay.

In this week’s episode I discuss establishing a relationship with my ex, post divorce. I know the idea of building a relationship with your Ex after fighting to get out of one seems crazy! I get it! Despite my own personal feelings, I decided that the best thing for our child and our family was to have a cordial and respectful relationship. It took some time and there were alot of bumps along the way, but we finally got there. It took me deciding what I wanted the relationship to look like, making sure we were on the same page, working on myself, and always remembering ‘it’s about my child and not me’.

In this week’s episode, I share how having strong and supportive women in my life, during my divorce process, helped me come out stronger on the other side. I’ve learned that asking for help or allowing people that love you to be there for you, during hard times, does not mean that you’re weak. Going through divorce takes a lot out of you physically, emotionally and mentally. My Strong female friendships were a huge factor in me making it through and helped me become the woman I am today.

“How did I not see it?” There’s going to come a time during your process when the blinders come off. When they come off what you see will be very different from your view through your rose colored glasses. I ignored a lot of red flags during my relationship. Once I started reflecting on all the signs that I missed, I initially felt alot of shame . If I’m going to be honest, I felt stupid! What I’ve learned is to give myself grace and forgiveness. The only thing you can do is learn from your mistakes, learn to trust your gut and build the self worth to leave when your intuition tells you it’s time to go.

Yes, you read it correctly! On this week’s episode we discuss how going through my divorce caused me to experience vaginal depression. I know it’s TMI but like I always say, “We are friends now!” Lol. I felt the need to share this part of my journey because I don’t feel like I hear it talked about enough. What I’ve learned is that even though going through the stress and emotions of divorce can leave you with no sex drive and a sad vagina. There is light and pleasure at the end of the tunnel. In this week’s episode, I share my journey to rebuilding my confidence and discovering my self worth. Living through a bad relationship and going through a divorce really affects your confidence and challenges your self worth. I’ve learned that getting rid of negative self talk and replacing it with positive affirmations really helped change the way I felt about myself. Grab a piece of paper or some post-it’s and write down all the things that you love about yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror and repeat them daily. It will seem crazy at first but eventually you’ll start to remember the amazing person that you are and realize what you deserve. You are worthy of a life filled with joy, peace and love.

In this week’s episode, I share what it felt like to find out my ex-husband is engaged! As you can imagine, I went through a roller coaster of emotions. The truth of the matter is, men tend to move on very quickly after divorce, so brace yourself. What I found to help me is keeping a list and checking it twice. Lol. My therapist recommended that I make a list of all the things that brought me hurt and pain throughout our marriage. Whenever I get triggered by my exes actions that send me down a rabbit hole of self doubt I pull out that list. Doing so keeps me rooted in the reality of what the relationship was and why I ultimately made the right decision.
