DJ BLACKLOW | HOUSE IS A FEELING

I had such a wonderful night playing at The Cuff Complex in Seattle earlier this month! Even though it was a rainy Seattle night, the crowd was amazing, the staff was incredible, and the energy was off the hook! I'm excited to share the warm-up half of the night, with the high-energy peak hour set to follow soon. I'll be back at The Cuff playing the closing set for Seattle Pride on Sunday, June 29th, and I couldn't be more excited to return!!!

Hey y’all! It’s almost summertime, and although things may feel tough in the world right now, music is always there to get us through the hard times.

I had a lot of fun whipping up this May ‘cast, which features a few of my recent private edits, along with Stephen and me’s remix of “Get Your Flowers,” from “Drag Race” star Sapphira Crystal, which is releasing later this month! We went in a fun, high-energy “Purple Disco” direction with this one, and it’s been crushing it on dance floors recently!

I hope you enjoy this journey into sonic joy. And if you feel inspired, please repost and share. I’ll see you in Atlanta soon. And remember always... #HouseIsAFeeling

Please enjoy the first half of my set from the Change of Seasons party for the Joining Hearts foundation, live The Heretic in Atlanta on April 5, 2025. This was the warm-up, with the peak hour second half coming soon! I'm incredibly grateful to Joining Hearts and to the amazing Atlanta community for hosting me!

Hey y’all! Spring is springing in the Northern Hemisphere, and I’m excited to share this special new promo podcast with all of you… a full two-hour set of high-energy house music.

I’m honored to be playing Saturday, April 5th, at HERETIC in Atlanta, for the incredible non-profit, JOINING HEARTS. Founded in 1987, Joining Hearts, a 501c3 organization, began as a group of friends raising funds to help a loved one with HIV/AIDS stay in their home. Recognizing the growing need, they turned their efforts into an annual event, supporting Atlanta-based organizations dedicated to HIV/AIDS care. Over time, as medical advances and community needs evolved, Joining Hearts expanded its mission beyond housing to include care and prevention, amplifying its impact across Atlanta.

Now more than ever, non-profits like JOINING HEARTS need our support. As current U.S. elected officials continue their campaign of cruelty to defund HIV-prevention efforts, the LGBTQ+ community is more vulnerable than ever. Most at risk are LGBTQ youth and the transgender community, and funds raised by JOINING HEARTS go directly to grassroots organizations on the ground that provide life-saving services and health care.

I have always believed that queer dance floors are spaces of resistance. And music is the energy that powers our fight.

I hope you enjoy this journey into sonic joy. And if you feel inspired, please repost and share. I’ll see you in Atlanta soon. And remember always... #HouseIsAFeeling

Please enjoy my set from Aspen Gay Ski Week, January 18, 2025, from the lobby of the Limelight Hotel. This is - undoubtedly - a pop girlie set, not one of my traditional house music sets. But for all the pop girlie connoisseurs out there, it bops along summin' fun! Also, I haven't been able to get the new Avicii documentary, "Avicii - I'm Tim," out of my head since watching it last month. So, this set opens and closes with a little tribute to him. If you haven't watched it yet, be sure to check it out on Netflix.

I rarely get a chance to stretch my after-hours musical muscles. I’ve probably played about 10 GUAPO PV events in Puerto Vallarta over the past 5 years but haven’t yet posted one of my sets from here in Mexico. This one, however, felt special. (full disclosure: last year’s NYE set didn’t record due to a technical glitch)… but this set is me at my best… I am very proud of it.

I put a lot of thought into all of my sets, especially for the JUICY and DEEP parties I’ve played in PV the last two years and I’m so excited to share this 3 hr+ one with the world. It’s mostly a tech house set and the energy I got from the crowd all night was unparalleled. I saw so many wonderful friends out there all night as I looked around.

If there was a main theme for the night’s journey, it was my trademark sound of going “a little bit old school”... l always love sharing classics with the younger generation. You’ll hear tracks (some, the originals… others, updates) like David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” and Danny Tenaglia’s “Elements” (both in my Intro), Honey Dijon’s update of Kevin Aviance’s “Cunty,” Technotronic’s “Pump Up The Jam,” Alesso’s new update on “Owner Of A Lonely Heart” by Yes, Size 9’s “I Am Ready,” my PV update that I’ve played the past few years of Sweet Pussy Pauline’s “Work This Pussy,” Butch’s “No Worries,” Submission’s “Women Beat Their Men,” Basement Jaxx’s “Fly Life,” two versions mixed of Shakedown’s “At Night,” Peter Rauhofer’s classic “Miracle Mix” of Mariah’s “We Belong Together,” (a remix I only save for very special occasions) - samples of Aretha, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, Alanis Morissette, Natasha Bedingfield, Vicki Sue Robinson, Kiss - and two songs from The Beatles (I’ll let “which two” be a surprise as you listen). There are more classics sprinkled throughout, as well as 5 or 6 of my own remixes or private edits.

Another theme on this journey was “loneliness” - a feeling I battled hard in 2024, as so many of us have - and that many DJ friends struggle with. It's especially in the zeitgeist with the new Avicii documentary, "I'm Tim," that just came out on Netflix. This set is a reminder that music can always be there to carry us through and that none of us is ever truly alone.

As the sun was rising from 7:30-8am, I switched gears to deliver a little magic for everyone who stayed ‘til the end. I ended my set (well, the 2nd to last song) with a new little edit I whipped up over the past two weeks of “Defying Gravity.” (which I’m still tinkering around with)... and the crowd reaction truly was everything I’d hoped for in that morning moment.

Thank you to the entire GUAPO PV team for having me back again. Thank you to DJ Autogyro for starting the night with an amazing opening set. I hope everyone has a chance to enjoy this set for years to come. Please share it on social or leave a Comment if you do.

I took the second half of 2024 off from DJing, (due to other life commitments) But I’m coming back strong in 2025. I’m now working with Javier Simons at Koq Agency for bookings. https://koqagency.com/ … and here’s where you can hear me in the coming months!

Jan 17th/18th - Aspen Gay Ski Week (Limelight apres skis)

Jan 19th - The Chapel at the Abbey, West Hollywood

Feb 1st - The Cuff Complex, Seattle

Feb 15th - Afterglow, X Bar, Denver

March 13th - Elevation gay ski week, Mammoth

Whoever first thought to take the sounds of gospel and add a beat underneath (I’m just gonna go ahead and credit the iconic Frankie Knuckles) must have been one of the greatest pioneers of house music of all time. Frankie once said that clubs are “like church... by the time the preacher gets going, the whole room becomes one.”

House lovers often refer to the dance floor as church. And some of the most joyous moments I’ve experienced at a club have been courtesy of gospel house. I vividly remember going to Twilo and Body & Soul in the late-’90s and hearing tracks for the first time from Sounds of Blackness, Jasper Street Co., Su Su Bobien, Vernessa Mitchell, Barbara Tucker, and Kim English that completely changed my outlook towards music.

I’ve been meaning to put together a gospel house mix for quite some time now (ever since playing a full gospel house set at the Church of Now at Burning Man in 2019), and a recent trip this holiday season to Portland to hear the Northwest Community Gospel Chorus gave me the inspiration that I finally needed.

So, rather than your typical house, tech house, or disco set, here’s 90 minutes (I could have easily made this 5 hours!) of pure praise for the lord - a dance floor journey of uplifting and soulful calls for love and redemption. There are classics here interspersed with brand-new tracks from this year, with reinterpretations sprinkled throughout. If this mix doesn’t have you shouting “Hallelujah!” by the end of it… then I don’t know how to help ya!

Please listen and enjoy! And if you feel inspired, please repost and share. And remember always... #HouseIsAFeeling

Spooky season is upon us, but there’s nothing scary about great house music! And if you have great taste, then lemme tell ya… this podcast is for you!

While #15 was much more tech house leaning, #16 gets back a bit more to my signature sound - more vocals, more tinges of disco, more classic homages, some hints of pop -  it’s a bit underground… and a bit mainstream - and more of an all-around higher-energy journey.

I typically would never use more than 2 remixes of a single producer in a podcast, but every once in a while there’s a moment where you witness someone taking things to the next level… and that’s exactly how I feel about the output of Sgt. Slick from Melbourne, Australia, right now. I have 3 of his productions on this podcast, because I simply couldn’t keep any of them out of this journey. They all worked here perfectly.

Please listen and enjoy! And if you feel inspired, please repost and share. And remember always... #HouseIsAFeeling

Fall is almost here in the U.S. and it felt like time for a new podcast! First, I am so grateful to everyone who helped me recently cross 5,000 followers on Soundcloud. It took 10 years and 181 posts, but it feels like an accomplishment I can be proud of. Thank you to everyone who has supported my career over the past 15 years and to everyone new who’s followed me in the past 6 months. (most likely to download my Beyoncé and Chappell Roan remixes!)

Originally, this podcast was over 2-1/2 hours long, so I split it up. (a second one is coming soon) This one has much more of a peak hour and tech-house vibe - it's very high energy (!!!) - the next one will be a bit more disco and classic house. I love so many of the original tracks and remixes on here with all of my heart…  and I hope I get the chance to play them out at a club soon.

Please listen and enjoy! And if you feel inspired, please repost and share. And remember always... #HouseIsAFeeling
