DJ BLACKLOW | HOUSE IS A FEELING

Please enjoy the first half of my set headlining The White Party at the Top of the Mountain at Aspen Gay Ski Week 2k23.

For your listening enjoyment, please enjoy my only set from Halloween this year. A Disco and Disco House from Kinetic Events’ discoVERS party at SAX in Washington DC.

It was such an honor to open for and play alongside the icon and legend DJ Robbie Leslie at this event, who turned this party out the second half of the night.

I hope you enjoy this spooky & scary set as much as I did playing it!

It’s been a minute since I’ve put out a new proper podcast… that’s mostly because I’ve been on the road a lot this summer. But as I was prepping music to head out to Burning Man this week, I was so inspired by everything that I was listening to that I felt compelled to share a little preview of what I’ll be playing this year out on the playa.

This plays more like a live set than a “podcast” (however one may define that word!), but here are two-and-a-half hours of house music that’s really moving me this summer.

This podcast also contains a preview of Stephen Jusko and I’s Nu Disco VIP Remix of our summer anthem, “Believe It Or Not” (feat. Brian Kent)... the second remix package, that includes this fresh take from us, along with new remixes from Wayne G and Andy Allder, GSP, and The Perry Twins - comes out August 30th on Swishcraft Records. Enjoy!

If you enjoy the music, feel free to tip!

For your listening enjoyment, the second half of my set from San Diego Pride's UNITE Music Festival '22 - an event that is truly one of my favorite festivals to be a part of due to the incredible diversity of talent that's brought in each year. I had the honor of kicking off the weekend on Friday, July 15th, at the WÜF party at Spin nightclub, playing alongside my friend DJ J Warren.

I haven't been able to get podcasts out regularly this summer because I've mostly been on the road. So, here's a live set to share from what's been an absolutely amazing summer so far!

The first half of my set was pretty much all house and tech house, which you will also hear during the top of this set! I hope you enjoy the second half just as much!

Tell me a story through the music…

… that’s the theme of this latest installment of my House Is A Feeling podcast series! As mentioned when I posted Vol. 10, this one has a bit more of a tech-house vibe (as opposed to the last one, which was much more disco house… but don’t worry, the Nu-Disco sound still shows up in bits & pieces in this one too!)

I’m very bummed out that my Embassy of Haus gig on Feb. 26th was canceled (almost the entire staff at the venue caught COVID and it was too late to find an alternative location), but I’ll be back in LA for Heart WeHo and King Sundays on March 12th/13th, and after that, I’m super excited about making my debut for Afterglow at X Bar in Denver on March 19th!

If you enjoy the music, feel free to tip!

I hope you enjoy this new set, which is very emblematic of where my sound is heading these days. This first one out of the gate in 2k22 is more disco house oriented… the next one will be a bit more of a tech-house vibe.

It’s been a while since my last podcast — a delay that comes as the result of a beautiful summer spent traveling — but I’m back this month with my Halloween 2k21 podcast, which is always one of my favorites of the year.

I’m so excited to be headlining HALLOWEENIE LA this year, on Friday, October 29th at the Belasco Theatre in DTLA. And catch me again Halloween night at BORDELLO at the Doheny Room in West Hollywood. Ghouls, ghosts, and goblins… I’ll see you on the dance floor!

This podcast features Stephen Jusko and I’s remix of “Love & Beats” from Brett Oosterhaus feat. Debby Holiday, as well as a sneak peek of our upcoming remix of “Shadows Of The Night” feat. Audrey Callahan! (which drops everywhere digital music lives, on Oct. 29th!)

For any of those of you who actually read this far, this is going to be my last #PugLife podcast for a while. I’m not taking a break from music, but tastes evolve and I’m going to be focusing on my House Is A Feeling series (just house, no circuit music) for the foreseeable future.

I hope you enjoy entry #21… and if you do, feel free to leave me a tip! Find me on Venmo: @DJBlacklow

This Pride month, the world is (almost) back! It's Pride weekend in my just-reopened hometown of Los Angeles, and the children... are... living!

It’s an amazing feeling for most of the world to be able to dance, rejoice, and celebrate together again. Of course, it’s still not this way for everyone - and this past year has been filled with tremendous pain and loss - and yet, there have been so many silver linings and lessons learned from this pandemic year, along with the realization that tomorrow is not promised to any of us.

As many of you know (and probably just as many of you don’t!) outside of my DJ/producer work, I work full-time at one of the largest LGBTQ social justice organizations in the U.S. Pride season is a busy time for us, and for me, it’s not all dance parties and celebrations. Pride was - and must always continue to be - a protest. The roots of our joy are interconnected with the long struggle of the fight for equality - something that so many in the LGBTQ community still have yet to fully achieve.

Music is my creative outlet, and this year it’s my joy to share with you Stephen Jusko and I’s new remix of “Stronger” by Sam Feldt feat. Kesha, a track that we're sure will become a pride anthem for us for years to come. Plus, this podcast contains amazing new standout production work from Brett Oosterhaus, Enrico Meloni, Leanh, Thiago Antony, Toy Armada & Jace M, Junior Senna & Rafael Dutra, and updated house classics from Sam Divine and The Cube Guys & Bob Sinclar.

If you’re new to my podcast, each episode of my #PugLife series is a journey in progressive house and high-energy dance music. Each set starts out with a house warm up before kicking into the peak hour zone. About 3/4ths of the way through, I go into a short darker zone, before switching gears and launching into uplifting tracks and classics at the end!

I hope you enjoy the music… and if you do enjoy it, please tip! Find me on Venmo: @DJBlacklow
