Almost an hour's worth of the usual lush textures of Xprss Lane, this time in a breakbeat format.

Ages ago I bought two turntables and a mixer, and during that Summer, thought it would be great to make my friends a mixtape for Christmas. Yes, this is Sunburnt: my first ever mixtape. It had two x 30 minute sides and I even made a cover and tracklisting with my fantastic dot matrix printer! The original tape has been lost to the winds of time, but I found a spare cover and tracklisting, so have re-done this as one continuous mix. It's a journey through the few records I owned at the time and the sheer euphoria of artists like Chicane, Paul van Dyk, Slacker and more when they were all arguably at their peak.

This was the first of many tapes. Everyone who received this tape was encouraging of me continuing, and a few years later a friend of a friend booked me to headline a warehouse party in South Brisbane on the memory of hearing that tape! A lot's happened since then, but I class this as one of those key moments in time, when I knew DJing was something that brought others joy and that I loved. Enjoy Sunburnt, I had many good memories revisiting these tracks and that sound.
