By popular demand I have put together another set of edits, remixes and complete cutups of the 1991 released "Jazz (We've Got)", the 'second single from A Tribe Called Quest's second album The Low End Theory. It samples "Green Dolphin Street" by Lucky Thompson's quartet, from the live album Friday the 13th Cook County Jail, produced by Sonny Lester.' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazz_(We...))

I thought it fitting that I put together a further 11 versions I came across on soundcloud, to continue to show the depth of the original sample and the impact that a Tribe Called Quest has had on Djs, Beatmakers and Rappers.

All are fantastic versions and pretty multicultural in this set so I hope you enjoy this as much as I did putting it together.

I have been a huge Gregory Porter fan ever since I first heard '1960 What' and rushed out to find it on vinyl. From that moment on I have been searching high and low for any Gregory Porter tracks, both his own solo tracks on his current 3 albums, Water, Be Good and Liquid Spirit as well as any guest appearances with other artists and producers as well as edits and remixes of his tracks. Besides this I have listened to a multitude of his interviews and guest appearances on radio shows far and wide.

To me Gregory Porter's music and lyrics are honest, beautiful, soulful, of our time (but timeless) and relevant to the human experience. Every time I listen to Gregory's music I feel a sense of calm and in this modern world of haste, Gregory Porter's music makes me slow down, listen and be involved in the story, in the journey and it's outcome.

His use of delicate intros, vocal snippets, rolling drums and strings brings a downtempo feel to his trip hop jazzy grooves, that draw you in and have you floating along and for me this is ok.

It's been awhile since I put out a jazzy hip hop mix, especially one with vocals and raps instead of just instrumental. These type of mixes have really helped me build a wonderful following here on Mixcloud and I thank you all for that.
