I realized how wrong it is that I have two regional mixes representing Bay Area's hyphy movement- 'hot.block (03.02.06) and Git Stupid Dumb (10.16.06)- before I recognize DC's own local Go-Go scene. How wrong I am!
As you work your way through this mix you'll be moving back in time; I kick it off with some classic DJ Kool and conclude with Chuck Brown, the acclaimed Godfather of Go-Go. My intention is for this mix to stand on its own, but to also serve as the first half of my funk revival series. Look for the second chapter next time up.
Enjoy.
