This set is very much a classic house set. It feels decidedly old school and yet uses a lot of new tunes. It somehow feels both pop sensible and pretty far out there. I love it.

It's that time of year again. The weather is getting colder and the leaves are changing. Halloween is around the corner and it's time for ghost stories, pumpkins and warm apple cider. I think this set fits the time of year perfectly.

I used no effects, loops or filters, and opted to instead work on the basics of track selection, track order, energy, taking you on a journey and telling a complete story. All the studio wizardry in the world wont save a DJ that can't do those essentials.

My skills are improving with each mix. It's only been three months and I can feel that the awakening is at hand.

For the artwork I chose the King of all Cosmos from one of my favorite games Katamari Damaci. Here the king can be seen grooving and playing the guitar.

It's time for us to Shine. Like the stars and the sun, we are rising and a new day has begun.

In this mix I have a variety of styles, bpms, and tempos. I practice raising the energy, dropping it and raising it back up. I try to mix songs with kickass beats with songs of meaningful lyrics and try to create a balance between the various styles and tempos to create an enjoyable listening experience. I even included my first "original" remix on this mix so that was fun using one of my own songs.

I also used various techniques to mix the tracks. Sometimes blending, sometimes starting the next track at the right time right as the previous one ends, sometimes using filters and effects to jump between tracks. I think I could have maybe done some transitions better but anyway I love the song order and song selection so I uploaded it.

Here it is, my first ever remix. I really wanted to increase the energy on this track to almost punk rock level of drum fury and think that I succeeded in that. It's energetic, intense and fast so I would recommend this song for when you are in the mood for dancing and partying it up, as it's prob not great for chilling or relaxing.

I got a whole new bunch of tracks and decided to mix them blind. For all of these songs it was my first or second time hearing them. Mixing them blind was fun and the result was pretty decent so I decided to upload this mix. This is how I learn my tracks by mixing songs I find then listening to the resulting mix. Although I like this mix a lot, since it's not my known "go to" tracks, I feel like it's missing a strong message or overarching theme. Either way it rocks and I'm happy with it.
