In other news, a teacher certification scandal is rocking the Houston area, according to a statement by Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg on Monday. The scheme involved hundreds of teachers taking false examinations, provided by suspects who charged for each certificate, resulting in many being falsely certified.

This cheating ring has led to the identification of at least five individuals allegedly involved in a million-dollar scandal, which allowed fraudulently certified teachers to work in the district. At least three of those charged were employees of the Houston Independent School District (HISD), including two assistant principals and a high school basketball coach.
