In our final podcast in this Holy Week 2022 series Bishop Ferran turns to Matthew 26-27 where we read of God doing His greatest good in humanity's greatest evil.

This Maundy Thursday we turn to the events in the Garden of Gethsemane recorded in Mark 14:32-42. It is a story which invites us to marvel at what the Son of God faced and embraced for us as he gave His life for us.

Wednesday in Holy Week 2022 brings us to Mark 14:1-11 and a story of beauty and betrayal. It reminds us that through faith and repentance we can be rescued from the poison of betrayal that infects our world - our lives transformed by the beauty of Jesus Christ our Lord.

This Tuesday of Holy week we look at Psalm 110 - a song that says it all. It is a Psalm that points to the coming of a king greater than the greatest king of Israel and asks us whether we acknowledge his rule in our lives, our church, our world.

The first of our Holy Week 2022 series is titled The Long View. In it, Bishop Ferran casts a long view back to the Scriptures that would have been so familiar to Jesus and his disciples and takes a closer look at the great promise of Isaiah 53:5 - the promise of a Saviour by whose wounds we are healed.

Our final study on the way with Jesus this Lent 2022 comes from Luke 19:28-47. In this passage, Jesus arrives in Jerusalem and weeps over the city. It is a story that ask us whether we are prepared to be the people God wants us to be.

As we continue our journey on the way with Jesus this Lent, we read about an encounter with a wealthy crook, Zaccheaus. This story, from Luke 19:1-10 is a reminder that, while it is so easy to write people off, the Good News is that Christ has come to seek and save the lost.

In the forth study of this Lenten 2022 Series, Bishop Ferran looks at Luke 15:11-32. In this passage we read a famous story of a lost son returning home. We also read of an older son returning home and confronted by a celebration. But ultimately it is the story of a waiting Father who loved the world so much that he gave His only son that whoever believes in Him should not be lost but have eternal life.

In this passage from Luke 12:54-13:8, Jesus has some tough words for the crowds following him. For Jesus, our greatest urgency is to repent, acknowledge our culpability before God and seek his mercy and pardon before it is too late.

In the second study of this Lenten series, Bishop Ferran challenges us to look up and see the radiance of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever.
