Even though the BET Awards isn’t how it use to be, there were highlights of the night to speak on. We often question music and it’s entirety, but when will we get into depth? Let’s keep the focus on why music isn’t what it use to be.

ASCAP is wrongfully awarding Cardi for the 1st female to be award as Songwriter of the year, Lil Nas dropped an EP that was questionable, Trina and Nicki both dropped music (album and a single), and Drake and Dreamville dropped new music. Hip Hop may be heading in the right direction soon, but for now, we’re still in need of help from the gatekeepers. Will we ever get that? Music as a whole has been going through a a spell of artist just putting out anything to make a “hit”. The general public are comparing entertainers to artist who are passionate about music, and at some point, the true artist needs to be respected. They need to be respected by the GP as well as other artist.

Many people won’t accept the fact that Nicki Minaj has contribute a lot to the culture. For both male and female rappers. She came through knocking doors down for women to be taken seriously again as rappers. She also fought for streaming rights so that it’ll help all rappers with the opportunity of being heard worldwide. That’s major for artist, but again, people don’t think that’s worthy enough because Nicki Minaj were the one who fought and won. Thank you for listening to my podcast ‼️🙏🏾

Loving Hip Hop as much as I do, you will understand that I’m speaking mainly out of “concern” and not ill intent to degrade an artist. I think y’all will understand what I’m saying. If not, ask and let’s converse.

Hip Hop is one of the most enjoyable genres alongside R&B. The OGs of Hip Hop understand and respect the art. Yes time has change, but that doesn’t mean that you change the respect of the art. Keep the art alive, be playful here and there, but still respect the true definition of Hip Hop.

Basically explaining what Normani being a solo artist is looking like. Currently, she’s a new solo artist that many aren’t fond of or don’t know. It’s nothing wrong with her fans hyping her, but give her a chance to be hyped by others. Don’t force a “hype” on her when she still has a lot to prove. When you do things like that, it causes people’s expectations to be high, and when it’s not met, they dispose of an artist.
