We may not consider that we have a hard heart, but it can be a gradual process like not putting cut flowers in water or leaving food uncovered on the counter, they spoil when left unattended, and it can be the same with our own hearts. God wants our heart to be pliable, moveable, and soft so that it is responsive to Him, but having a hard heart makes us harsh, unfeeling and that can cause us to miss the things that God is doing.
